Hi Skillful, I particularly, absolutely love how you just cut to the chase for what to do. This is a very useful tactic & next level ingenuity, I like the way you think😉
Thats a good idea. Another idea is buy a metal ring with no opening (from a craft store), sew it in the zipper flap if you have one in the luggage and lock the zipper pull together in the ring. The zipper cannot be moved. Like yours it is a deterrent, not a prevention.
Customs do not open all baggage unless they find something suspicious when your baggage goes through the scanner. You will need to use tsa approved locks.
@@skillfullyyoursmaris4425 I used TSA-approved locks the last time I went to the US - bought new ones, quite expensive - and they cut them off. There's wasn't anything suspicious in my baggage, either. 🤷
That’s so inconvenient! We travel a lot and we just use a good luggage and a TSA approval lock. We only use a cloth luggage material for a carry on bag.
@skillfullyyoursmaris4425 do you think a zip tie through the zipper loop to the steel cable wrapped around the handle would work? Asking because for international travel, tsa locks get cut off if they need to open the bag. Tsa locks are only for domestic us travel so it would be easier for authorities to cut a zip tie and not damage the lock or bag
Yes, but if when you pick up your luggage at the airport and the zipper is open because they cannot unzip by putting the cable you can right away report the theft while you are still at the airport.
You're not understanding what this prevents. The thief is an employee. The only way for the thief to get away is to zip it back shut. What this does is prevent the thief employee from zipping it back up which would then expose the damage left and becomes evidence. A thief who knows they won't be able to zip it back would simply avoid the luggage.
Hey @reyinfante5553, your deterrent sounds like a ping, ping, ping quick. Ever considered doing a demonstration; I’m so visual, reading your simple instruction made me sleepy. My mind operates such, that I have to see mentally while reading what to do. I know, I know🤦🏽♀️

Thanks for the info.
You are very welcome.
What about luggage straps is that a good idea to help deter thieves?
@@GraceAbounds4ever yes, but make sure it is tight so it won’t get caught in baggage conveyor.
When you travel internationally, the customs have to check all baggages. They have to check inside and have to unlock them forcefully 😮

@@MM-oj4qp That’s exactly the point. You want to inconvenience the thieves. This is just a suggestion. Cheers!🥂
thank you very helpful !!

All they need is a pen n they can break thru the zipper without having to deal with the lock. This is not even going to do anything
