- Arriving officers found Nicholas Scurria, 32, in the process of beheading the woman, according to police.
"I've been an officer for 32 years, this is absolutely horrible," said Clifton Heights Police Chief Timothy Rockenbach. "I don't even know what words I could describe to you how actually incredibly insane this is, especially in my town."

I really hope the police officer who found the crime scene gets the help he needs. This is the sort of thing that sticks with you.

As morbid of a thought this is, it’s very rare to hear about an instance where a murderer was caught in the act of hiding his victim’s body. May she Rest In Peace.
The neighbor was very observant and did the right thing. Despite it being too late in this case, the fact he was caught before he was able to run gives me hope that crimes in progression like this will soon be minimized and prevented all together.

Also, he has no chance of an insanity defense with him admitting that he intended to hide the crime and was seen with rolled up plastic nearby. Killers these days always want to claim insanity.

Her Mom- my Gram would sit for hours reading the bible. My Mom hated being made to go to church & was very rebellious. She never pushed any of the church ways etc. onto me whilst growing up. If the intention was to withhold her identity, pending family notification, why jump the gun? Since their loved one has been killed, who cares if the public is demanding more information? I can’t imagine what the officers are going through right now. PTSD and trauma needs more than therapy. Support them, they’ve seen things we’d never ever see. My daughter is a first responder. She is in therapy and trying to process this pandemic and more. They are the first ones on horrific scenes. Sometimes they are there and get to do the beautiful job of welcoming a baby or saving a child. But this? Oh my goodness..🤭💔 😔

She could have toyed with his mind, made him into a cuckold or feel powerless as such within "civilized" society (thin veneer of civilization) using the powers that be to her advantage (court orders, fines, imprisonment etc), played with his emotions, state of mind etc... where state violence can only be reactive at best in an effort to prevent and keep such events from ever occurring in the first place (if someone wants to do whatever, they really will regardless of the potential consequences and/or deterrents in place..awful and severe as it may be on an individual personal level for victim and accused alike..) beyond the governments and civilians attempt(s) to limit or stop and control such events prior to the fact (or during..) of it becoming the reality it did, plus other childhood experiences on his end and his station in life could have lead to this (and hers potentially). Best not to trust most people/human beings in general; They are the most dangerous, coercive, manipulative forms of life with an ulterior motive out there. Those with power (or seeking it) and those without power (wanting it) have one thing in common, violence. How they are treated in light of its acceptation and application there of (what is tolerated as reasonable and known/expected vs intolerable and/or not known) by society/the public is of course as different as day and night.

Omg !! What a horrible man !! Thank god for the neighbor calling the police so he didn't get away with it. Too bad that she didn't call sooner.
My heart is broken for the police officers who responded to this. They WILL need follow up debrief and therapy to help them cope with what they had to see. Prayers for them and the girl's family as well.

I have to also comment on how respectful the reporter/journalist were on reporting this horrible event, prayers sent to the family of this young girl as well as the officers who witnessed this horrific crime.
When a crime victim gets the death penalty, anything short of the same, ASAP for the perpetrator, is not justice.
