Since ninja's can now move while casting TCJ does that mean you'll re-shoot your channel intro while moving around? These are answers we need to know. . . .
moving while in tcj feels so weird but its amazing. what we lost in skill expression we gained in job identity as ninja is now further solidified as the most flexible melee with the best movement :3 not being able to move was also really boring. they couldve went further with the idea n added flavour to it but no. x.x
an important angle to consider is alot of changes usually corresponds to encounter design . giving ten chi jin movement, giving blm double triple cast, giving whm a dash, giving sch expedient, giving dragoon one nastrond ( and 2 dash charges) would mean devs would be more free to add more intense mechanics in encounters every big burst windows.
I agree about the pve delay being bad. Trust me, I know how much that sucks because MCH tools are like that too, and yes that delay does give you less slack to put something into buffs than without the delay. I disagree with you about pvp though. The delay was added to match the animations for the very reason you are complaining about; to allow attentive players to actually react. In pvp reading players and strategizing for it is supposed to be part of the skill. It's absolute trash not knowing what even hit you in this game and that's one reason why pvp is so bad on FF. This is a change that went across the board in pvp.
why did they have to remove nastrond charges from dragoon when ninja also has crazy opener and faster gcd than dragoon ?? I don't like how biased the devs are, give us nastrond charges back..
Ninja is in a great spot but it needs some animations updates. Same combo gcds and Raiton/Katon/Suiton animations since 2.3 (!!). I would at least update Raiton and combo gcds animations since those are the most used buttons in NIN rotation. That’s pretty much my only complaint right now with the job really. Just a bit more visual pizazz is needed. Even monk got its combo animations updated.
The thing with hyosho is iirc kinda global, as in they adjust when the numbers popped up for all skills across all jobs. Now it syncs to when the skill animation actually contacts the target. Pvp skills also got changed, as in iirc one of warrior skill now take effect/do damage a bit later than before. As for how it interacts with buff/ debuff, im not sure
Im pretty sure for buff, it applies the moment your gcd rolls, so even if the damage numbers is delayed, the moment the gcd rolls, your attack are still buffed by whatever buff you have at that moment. Not sure about debuff
Thanks for video. I feel so wierd when i first time use hyosho after patch like it was so unnatural and so wrong on so many levels i almost cryed. And it really bad for pvp. Hope they revert this changes
in pvp not being able to teleport doton is probably a good thing. purely because of the defensive benfit it adds. if you didn't have that change. you'd teleport a doton, and be able to dokumori several people quite safely. which would be very devestating. that extra time to cast it gives them time to get out of it's range.
I was a Ninja main, but I haven't play FF14 since 7.0. This is a very welcome change. I was hoping that they will make Shukuchi start teleporting faster, idk if that's the case already or not.
TCJ was the only reason why I didn't stay on ninja this expansion despite also playing viper, honestly; now I'll actually pick it back up. You do have a point about the added hit delay in pvp being mad annoying too, thought it was just me having a worse time connecting hyosho into LB because I'm not on low ping... The added hit delay on pvp warrior's primal rend doesn't hurt its burst/stun potential as much as hyosho's delay hurts ninja, so I'm led to theorize this change wasn't extensively tested per role and is just a universal line of code they added onto some actions. Why they added this onto hyosho? Complete mystery...
TCJ change makes sense, why as a NINJA am I rooted in place? The community is so weird with this skill expression viewpoint. when it's fundamentally just run the content, die/get punished because you did your normal burst and next pull just hit it at a different time... It's not engaging. If you want skill expression learn a fighting game, it's not reasonable to think the catgirl PVE MMO to have this insane depth.
Respectfully disagree. There is plenty of skill expression left in 14, it's just not dependent on whether TCJ roots you in place or not. Its rigidity always felt dated and part of a much older job identity and seems not in sync with current fights or even compared to other melees.
@@kriers The skill expression comes from consistently resolving mechanics and some parts of certain jobs kits, but I'm not saying there Isn't any, I'm saying people who wax on about skill expression don't have the clarity that this game isn't built to be that.
Very likely most that are complaining até not ninja mains. Having your biggest 120s cooldown button be completely wasted because of stock drift or even a small movement by accident is very unfun. Also ninja is already in my opinion the most complexo job. I would actually say it's the only job with a little bit of complexity in ffxiv and that a exactly why I ended up maining it
I enjoy the "But my class fantasy" crowd... like... how is TCJ, button that forces you to stand still and become BLM for 3 half GCDs somehow job fantasy of the most mobile job with higher MS, only ground targeted movement and 2-3 possible targeted dashes? Am I missing something? Arent ninjas nimble and quick? Why are they the only melee that has to stand still for 4,5 seconds in their burst?
