Not necessarily if its newer or in good condition. If something was leaking on it, itd be a different story. Ive always been taught belts should be recommended after 60,000 miles or when theres more than 4 cracks per square inch (I personally dont like seeing any cracks) or if the belt is really glazed or ripped up.
@@MegaMilesBen My belt is looking pretty bad actually, I might as well go ahead and replace it. Thank you for making these videos! You are making the world a better place.
When recharging, I was only able to get one 8 ounce can in. The 2nd can won’t go in. Is there a way for the compressor to engage, since it doesn’t have a magnetic clutch? I’ve never worked on a compressor with a solenoid before. Thanks in advance.
I dont diagnose ac. I really dont know that much about charging them with a can from empty. I use my shop neighbors ac recharge machine through the low and high ports.
@@MegaMilesBen no prob. thanks for getting back to me. I’m using manifold gauges and the compressor usually kicks on at a certain point, but this one isn’t and I know it still needs another 8 ounces to be within spec.
@@robbygonzalez7911 Did you ever figure out what the problem was with not getting the last 8oz? I have to do this job this weekend and wonder if it is something specific to a solenoid compressor.
@nickdeezy8346 I dont get what your comment is about. This is a video to help others do their own repair and save money. If you dont like it, just move along. Theres no need to be rude here.
Excellent video THANK YOU
Thanks for watching!
Good job
Thanks for watching!
Looked like it was pass time to change out the AC compressor. ✌🏻
Yea. I had recommended it back in october, it was whining then.
Is it mandatory that you replace the Serpentine Belt when you replace the AC Compressor? How can I tell if I need to replace the belt?

@@tyler646432 I believe I jumped the pressure switch to get the compressor to kick on.
@@robbygonzalez7911 Nice thanks for the info.
Change the AC compressor on a 3.5 XLE like a real man. A squirrel could take the compressor off on those 2.4’s.
