The Scanner cover (which is a good idea), originally showed up in the ADJ Scanner 150 (one of their first scanners..) so the idea is not new, but its nice to see that ADJ brought it back..
Thanks ALOT Brian! :) You made me understand what these tiny scanners are meant to be for! I ever thought Scanners have to be big and need rotating gobos and prisms. You showed me how lightweight compact scanners can help us mobile DJs! Really good Video! and thanks alot again Addy
@briansredd ADJ did the mirror covers way back on the first Halogen American DJ Scan and American DJ Roller. I still have both of those lights. Still work great! -DJ CD
Hey Brian, I'm rather new to these parts and I've been following your videos since I arrived! Keep up the great work man! Your review of the Comscan System was great & very helpful! I'm really leaning towards picking it up now!
Brian, I have 6 scanners. Four of which are AMDJ Dynasty Scanners. They are ok but I really like the Comscan system. I love simple. Thanks for the review.
this is the way a video should be done. showing effect as seen from crowd, AND from the DJ's position - including the remote in the picture and the effect on the floor simultaneously. ....And the REAL test is showing them WITHOUT fog (so often denied at schools & hotels, etc)
@najeraj1 I don't know if the wireless one is easy, but as far as your question about connecting, you take a standard DMX cable, plug one end into the DMX output of the light with the UC-3 in it, then plug the other end into the DMX input of the other light. Then just set the first light to "Master" and the second light to "Slave 1". You can then connect a third light to "Slave 1" and set it to "Slave 2" and so on...
@sidneypro It depends on where you'r going to put the scanners. You get nice little gobos going around the floor but if you really want to impress you HAVE to use fog! These scanners don't have a very powerful light source, so the beams created in the air are barely visible without fog.
man o man the leds are really coming on and im sure it hasnt stopped yet, some of the moaning a year or so ago will stop now great kit and a great pro presentation!
hello Brian, always enjoy your videos. I have 6 of these and really happy with them. wondering if there's a way to replace the led to make them brighter? any idea or suggestions?
Hey brian are this scanners supost to sqeak when they move slow?? mind dose and i think its that lil plastick it has ontop close to the moter let me know what you think plzzz
@DMXMANIAC not sure. Thing is, crowd pleasing lighting is very affordable for mobile DJs, so they may be reluctant to rent. Although, you could think about doing more of an uplighting service. Lots of DJs want to sell this service, but don't want to invest in all the product needed to provide it.
Can you please do a side by side comparrison of the white spot gobos next to each other of the x-scan and comscan?? I would like to see how much brighter the comscan is. Thanks!
Ordered these. Just wanted to add a unique flair and "wow" factor to my Home Theater. I mean who has Intelligent Scanners in their living room! I'm not a DJ but I do a lot of movie nights and some parties at my apartment. I think these lights will pack a HUGE punch! Here are the measurements of my living room: Height: 9' Width: 10' 123" Length: 15' 183" My question to you is do you think these lights are overkill? If its not I'd want to add at least 2 more ADJ lights. What would you suggest?
hi brian.... love your videos... you sound like a really nice guy too! just wondering.... im interested in buying 2 scanners.... but at a lot of venues I am not allowed to use fog.... are scanners a waste without using fog? Appreciate an honest answer... thanx! -Craig
I got about 400-450 dollars to spend on lights, I have a small tripod Tbar with a quad phase already on it. I am thinking about getting the dotz tpar system from ADJ, it is really bright and comes with its own controller and tripod and case and I thought before getting any other lights, I should get some wash lights to be able to make just colors on the floor or wall or whatever. Should I get this system, or two other scanners that are at the same price point, or the wash lights?
hey there brian im a new dj so im just learning about my light programming and such, my favourite feature of the x-scan LED is the four linked alternate reversed lightshow, is this possible with the comscan LED? either way adj are my fave lightsource, currently using 4 x X-Scan LED, 2 x mystic, 2 x tri-aggressor LED
@JBonthebase I don't know the lumens, but the other specs are in the discription of this video. LED is more of a heat & longevity issue & power consumption is not so much an environmental issue as much as it is an allocated venue power issue. The less my light show consumes, the more power I feel can be dedicated to my PA system
@briansredd hey brian since your familiar with adj products, do you think this will work: buy two Comscan systems (4 Comscans) and using 2 wifly transceivers to have the ability to daisy chain the two comscan systems together across the room using a single UC3 remote. thanks, blake
Hey, I love the product. But, I didn't understand very well, it's $500 for the Comscan LED or for the Comscan LED SYSTEM?? Thanks a lot, hope for more videos.. :)
sorry to ask a silly question but how is a 10w led brighter than a 20w led?I bought a generic chauvet 15w minspot, out of china, so can I up grde with a new 15w led ?
Your video was too good, I'm going to have to spend some time trying to think up a question...LOL. Great vid Brian, makes me want to get a pair of these.
Great Video! But i cannot understand why you do not like DMX. because there is nothing better than DMX. If you turn the scanner sound to light they always do something that you do not want.
nice video ive got one £65 pound it was ex shop display still looks like new still got the box with it and all the packing that goes with it bargain id say
@traxonwax Don't get me wrong, DMX is cool stuff. I've just got better things to do than try to run complicated light shows via DMX when I'm trying to do other things (like DJ) and I don't think my clients know the difference
@briansredd If the average client started complaining that you are not using dmx, then there is a pretty good chance that you got bigger issues then not using dmx. hahaha That's the way I see it. It's not that I'm lazy, in fact I am, but I believe that a dj should put his energy into where it matters the most and that is to provide great entertainment. Seems to me Brian, you don't have a problem with doing just that. Keep up the great work!
ok he didnt like dmx xD ok but a DJ is most for music famous ;) but i think a smal dmx controll will better as the UC3 controller for ervery scanner ;) it is my opinion ;) But the scanner are very nice ^^ Sorry for my terrible english ;) greetz from germany ^^
Stay away from these. Brian, why don't you mention that there is NO SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT FOR THE SOUND ACTIVE MODE???? Thats kind of a big deal if you play anywhere louder than a monastery. Also, when you put them into their program modes and turn off sound activation, THEY DON'T MOVE AT ALL! they just stay static and switch gobos.
The Scanner cover (which is a good idea),
originally showed up in the ADJ Scanner 150 (one of their first scanners..)
so the idea is not new, but its nice to see that ADJ brought it back..
9 Years later still up and running! 2019
I just bought these online...Your video was extremely helpful in assuring my purchase and quality of the product! Thank you for posting!
OK Brian, you sold me. IF I don't win the VMS4, I would be very happy with the Com Scan LED. Thanks Again.
Thanks ALOT Brian! :)
You made me understand what these tiny scanners are meant to be for!

Really good Video!
and thanks alot again

ADJ did the mirror covers way back on the first Halogen American DJ Scan and American DJ Roller. I still have both of those lights. Still work great!

i'm sold...i'm like you, i dont have the patience or the time for DMX. Especially when i'm trying to entertain the crowd. Nice demo!
Hey Brian,
I'm rather new to these parts and I've been following your videos since I arrived! Keep up the great work man! Your review of the Comscan System was great & very helpful! I'm really leaning towards picking it up now!

You have influenced me to purchase new scanners lol!!! Thanks man for encouraging me to spend more money HAHA!! Awesome lights man!!
@najeraj1 I don't know if the wireless one is easy, but as far as your question about connecting, you take a standard DMX cable, plug one end into the DMX output of the light with the UC-3 in it, then plug the other end into the DMX input of the other light. great idea on the covers ! I'm going to try it this friday on my am dj scanners
Your video was extremely helpful. I'm sold!

Did you change led?
really awesome light Great video and nice product from american dj
@DjBoreC They are just as bright as the VIZI LED Spots, which are quite bright.. also, they ARE 5 Channel DMX if you would like to use them via DMX
very cool this Comscans and very easy to handle
Hey brian are this scanners supost to sqeak when they move slow?? mind dose and i think its that lil plastick it has ontop close to the moter let me know what you think plzzz
brian - I am going to pick up a pair - they are nice, portable, and bright... great review... hope u are well
dj naveen
I remember when you did a video like this for your old Chauvet Intimidators.
Hey Brian, just a heads up: "LED" stands for "Light Emitting Diode", so no need to add diode onto the end of LED!
Nice review too, nice work!
Great Video Brian! Thanks!
Yes, you can connect as many as you like, even just one.
@WhosThat1DJ I don't know anything about the Chauvet scanner or how bright it is. Perhaps I'll take a look at Chauvet next time I'm at a trade show
great video brian. good product review.

These are realy cool..i think im going to but the pack ....it would be cool if ther put a barrel insted of a flat mirror....! what do you think ?
@zacktkscwboy Yes I'm pretty sure you can control as many Comscans as you can master-slave together with a single UC3 remote
Can you please do a side by side comparrison of the white spot gobos next to each other of the x-scan and comscan?? I would like to see how much brighter the comscan is. Thanks!
brooooo your vids are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just subscribed man thanks for showing us the good stuffffff =]
@sidneypro I personally think that scanners look great with or without fog!
Ordered these. Just wanted to add a unique flair and "wow" factor to my Home Theater. I mean who has Intelligent Scanners in their living room! hay brian, love these lights, also just on another note, any idea to when the american dj wedding contest winners video will be up :) thanks
hi brian....
love your videos... you sound like a really nice guy too!
just wondering.... im interested in buying 2 scanners.... but at a lot of venues I am not allowed to use fog.... are scanners a waste without using fog?

Nice little package
@odavila78 No, the UC3 is pretty basic. That would require a DMX controler
@DMXMANIAC I probably forgot to mention that these are 5 channel DMX IF you want to run them DMX.. but you don't have to as with most all ADJ lights.
Great review Brian.
Any idea when they'll be in the UK? - looks like I need to talk to Simon!
hey there brian im a new dj so im just learning about my light programming and such, my favourite feature of the x-scan LED is the four linked alternate reversed lightshow, is this possible with the comscan LED? either way adj are my fave lightsource, currently using 4 x X-Scan LED, 2 x mystic, 2 x tri-aggressor LED
wow that's an amazing light and good tips
@JBonthebase I don't know the lumens, but the other specs are in the discription of this video.

Are you really happy with the brightness of the comscan?
Its the only thing i am worried about.
Ive been waiting for these bad boys to come out. There on the to buy list.
Isaac
@djsmithy14 There is haze in the demo
Hi Brain!
I think that I will buy this lights whit a Showtec Scanmaster 1 DMX panel. Do you think this is a good combie?
Greetz
@RBproductions10 I think we gave ourselves until either the 10th or the 15th to review the vids and count up votes. Voting is STILL open!
Haha
I was forget to tell you that I have got 2 Showtec ParCan 56 LED dmx, and if you think it's a nice combie whit the American DJ Comscan LED??
@briansredd hey brian since your familiar with adj products, do you think this will work: buy two Comscan systems (4 Comscans) and using 2 wifly transceivers to have the ability to daisy chain the two comscan systems together across the room using a single UC3 remote. thanks, blake
Hey, I love the product. But, I didn't understand very well, it's $500 for the Comscan LED or for the Comscan LED SYSTEM?? Thanks a lot, hope for more videos.. :)
in the video demo at the end, was it on soundactive or using the controller?
i like that im going to get it thanks do i need a dmx controler..
sorry to ask a silly question but how is a 10w led brighter than a 20w led?I bought a generic chauvet 15w minspot, out of china, so can I up grde with a new 15w led ?
hope the covers are not like the xscan plus where the bolt inside breaks off
which i brighter?
COMSCAN LED
or
22watt INTIMIDATOR SCAN LED
??
could you use just one CS3 controller using Y cables/connectors for multiple units?
hey bud, i've got 4, and noticed one's brightness has weakened. is there anything i can do? is there a poor mans way of replacing the led light?
@djsmithy14 People are finding them online for between $400 and $500 US dollars. Quite a deal I'd say!
@briansredd Was there smoke or haze at your gig?
Would the quad scan from ADJ be better than the comscan system?
can you connect more than 2 to the controler??
The vizis have a 22 watt led source!!
one would hope that there is going to be a specific arriba case for the comscan system....wink wink
I got some comscans thats to you bro =D now ama get 2 more cuz i love themmm
Can you make a second Video without haze?
Your video was too good, I'm going to have to spend some time trying to think up a question...LOL. Great vid Brian, makes me want to get a pair of these.
good movies with easy english
and
What is the song from 7:17
Great Video!
But i cannot understand why you do not like DMX.
because there is nothing better than DMX. If you turn the scanner sound to light they always do something that you do not want.
@briansredd - we gave ourselves until Friday. :)
What's the remix to the song used
What is the tech Spec? how many lumens?.....
you are DJing like a European,,Energy saving and all.....I suppose it is the Recession...?
nice video ive got one £65 pound it was ex shop display still looks like new still got the box with it and all the packing that goes with it bargain id say
@traxonwax Don't get me wrong, DMX is cool stuff. I've just got better things to do than try to run complicated light shows via DMX when I'm trying to do other things (like DJ) and I don't think my clients know the difference
What's the song called
hey brian whats the tune
Maybe good for someone who dont use DMX. I wouldnt use this scanners without DMX and also they dont look brigth.
@SuperMartin4
Where for € 329,=?

@briansredd If the average client started complaining that you are not using dmx, then there is a pretty good chance that you got bigger issues then not using dmx. hahaha That's the way I see it. @briansredd okay great thanks, by the way, kepe the vids coming, love eveyone :D

Looks like a great light, and a great vid, well done. Some DJ guys talk so much cr** !
