    i think if while it's on,if you grab the mirror while it's pointed at the metal and gently tilt it up by hand a notch,it'll stop hitting it.

    • @aaronproductionslighting
      @aaronproductionslighting  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That won’t work since once it needs to go all the way to the top it will hit the end stop at the top and go back to the normal home position on the tilt, moving the motors is a very temporary fix, this is again why dmx is a lot better

    How do you turn it on? No power switch on this.

    I was really disappointed to find out it's a combined color and gobo wheel. In automatic mode that's probably fine. But for any kind of DMX scene programming that really limits the creative options. In my view control over colors is even more important than gobos when it comes to scanners. Given the price point, I guess I can't really complain too much.

      Just wanted to point out, I did a bit more research and found out a company called Beamz sells a variation of this lighting fixture with many more features including a manual focus ring and separate color and gobo wheels. www.beamzlighting.com/product/intiscan-300-scanner-30w-led-dmx/

    I’ve just gotten two on Christmas I like them a lot I have 3 scanning lights the scan 110s and the lx10 the intimidator was better and chauvet did something really smart they make them compatible with the irc 6 remote and I have them mounted next to my American dj black light 48 inch and plugged into my sc8 relay pack and a extension cord plugged into the scanner to the other one I was gonna make a video of it with fog during summer

    What is a cheap DMX controller for this light that you would recommend? Thanks again

    • @aaronproductionslighting
      @aaronproductionslighting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For this light, the cheapest I would go with is a chauvet Obey 40, you can get cheaper controllers on eBay/amazon that do the same thing, just look for something that can handle at least 10 or more channels, and has at least 6 faders per "page" in order to make it so you dont have to click a button to go back and forth in order to program this light. If you're looking for a software solution, ShowXpress is great if you plan on expanding your lighting invnetory and want to have things like buttons you can click for scenes, buttons to flash lights on, a timeline sequence, midi control, etc.

    Thanks for the video. How far will the beam throw with a little bit of fog? I cannot seem to find any samples of this. I own a high end commercial recording studio and we also shoot music videos in our live room. I was considering getting 6 of the scan 110s to use in our in house lighting rig. But I am a bit concerned that the beam may not throw far enough. I am looking for about a 24 foot throw. Do you think these lights will throw that far?

    • @aaronproductionslighting
      @aaronproductionslighting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      depends on if other lights will be used, I have used these for my christmas light show as beams in the sky and they’re okay as long as there isn’t something else to drown them out... I’d recommend something a little more advanced for the purposes you describe since something like a 3-facet prism and rotating gobos would really help out with the effects in your music videos; but if there is a budget or size requirement of the fixture, something like the scan 305LED would probably be better in my opinion: th-cam.com/video/EWrO7BfObSU/w-d-xo.html

    Do you know why the mirrors bang into the unit when moving how do you fix that?

    • @aaronproductionslighting
      @aaronproductionslighting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if you’re referring to when it happens when you first plug it in, that is completely normal. The motors do not have any sensors so they use the motor stopping as a message to tell the unit that the mirror is at the end. But if it’s doing that after the initial turn on one, then there is an issue. I’ve had it happen with these when I use them outside and it’s cold I guess the motors don’t like the cold and get knocked out of position which causes the motor to get out of alignment and then jam up when it hits the end stop

    • @realdjjayc
      @realdjjayc ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your reply and your help! Def not the cold unfortunately. Took them out of box and put on Sound Mode and the mirror keeps banging.

      @@aaronproductionslighting Hi! I just bought one of this and is it normal when you first plug it in that the mirrors bang the unit for a few seconds? Is it normal the first time you plug it in for the first time? Or is it going to do that every time you plug it in?

    Thanks for that. I needed info on that specific product so it was good. Probably need more lighting for the vid, and lock down your camera rather than holding. To make the video more to the point, video editing would be a plus. gee I sound like a prick. Good info thanks for that.

    • @aaronproductionslighting
      @aaronproductionslighting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have, I just am not a big fan of the design and how large it is; at that point I would rather buy a moving head that would give me more flexibility, though, of course there are special applications where scanners are more useful, just not for me

    • @croissantproductions
      @croissantproductions ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aaronproductionslighting It’s not that big. Honestly the photos of the product suck. The design is pretty nice looking and it’s super bright. It also moves quite a bit faster than the scan 110

    Nice vid! So whats the difference between this one and the ADJ inno pocket Scan?

    • @aaronproductionslighting
      @aaronproductionslighting  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!! Probably nothing, im sure this, and the ADJ one are the same generic light design from a factory in china, just slightly different housings; its very common since they already had all the circuity and plastic/metal designed - so they figure why not reuse it and just modify to have the brand name on it, a lot less work and money spent on development

    • @croissantproductions
      @croissantproductions 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aaronproductionslighting I don’t think so. The Inno Pocket Scan has a very different design. It has a slightly more powerful LED, no fan, a completely different display, along with no rubber feet and a plastic cover on top.
