Hello Les, What a beautiful video; one of the best you've made. I visited Kanchanaburi about ten years ago on a day trip from Bangkok; I should have stayed there longer. I went there to visit the grave (headstone) of my uncle who is remembered in the War Cemetry there. He died in 1943 building the railway as a POW of the Japanese! Varry on living the dream.

Thanks for sharing 🙏your comment, this was our 3rd trip to the River Kwai, it is a wonderful location to visit but sadly not for your Uncle. Thanks for sharing this and reminding others of the sacrifice made for others to live a better life. Respect for your Uncle.

It is for sure possible, we do not enhance anything it is as it is and we live a normal life here in Thailand. Thanks for watching.🙏😎

Hi, Les & Ploy, I enjoyed your video, What a bargain at 8000 BHT. The accommodation is more than adequate, free boat trip is thrown in for free. Great find you guys. the bridge has a dark past but a wonderful future and present. Well done.
Take care, GOD Bless you and yours. M

Well worth it. Stopped at the River Kwai hotel. Visited the museum. Went on the bridge and took train ride. Got the book and t-shirts too. Lol. It's changed since I went there in 1985. Been there 2015 and last year too. A real experience and quite spooky when there are no other people there on the death railway.

@@RetiredandLivingthedream sorry, I meant 3 times to Kanchanburi to see the river, etc. And stay. One of my favourite places barring islands.

Lovely part of the country. Ive always enjoyed visiting Kanchanaburi. Ive stayed at a number of places but most memorable are River Kwai Jungle Rafts and the River Kwai Resotel. Raft trips on the river always a pleasure. Thank you Les for sharing part of your Dream Reality. All the Best. Mitch 🙏

We liked the Jungle Raft very much and wanted to stay here again but wow has it gone up in price, last year 2,500 this year 3,500 far too expensive for our budget. Thanks for your comment Mitch.

Nice flog Les very very peaceful place. Was there a number of years ago to find my Grandfathers grave as he was marched to the River Kwai to work on the railway but sadly died of Beri Beri whilst there. My Grandfather is buried in Cranji Singapore war graves cemetery which is kept absolutely lovely and cared for by the British Legion and War Graves Commission. My grandmother lived with us all her life and was like a second mother to us four lads. When she passed my brother and I flew to Singapore and reunited our grandmothers wedding ring to his grave so they could be together again. When my wife and I move to Jomtien next April we will make that peaceful trip you have been on.Many thanks
