That BBV in the background has that retro style 4 piece windshield instead of the modern 2 piece
I noticed a propane powered bluebird vision in the background.
I wish they would have had Cummins motor for last years RE school bus. The company I work for bought 15 and unfortunately none of them had the Cummins. I have one of them and when I drove up and down a mountain the International motor strained badly. That Cummins sounds like it would have been the perfect motor for the bus I have. I hope there are more videos coming up of the re-engined International RE with the Cummins instead of that Maxxforce.
Unfortunately the MaxxForce wasn't kind to every operator. A lot depends on how the gearing is setup in the rear end, and how the horsepower is spec'd on the engine. Your RE may have not been designed for that type of terrain.
Kodie S true. But nearly every International RE we have barely pulls a mountain. The Thomas rear engines do quite well on the mountains. Last year when we received our new buses we were told they were going to have the Cummins diesel; unfortunately when they were delivered they didn’t come with that engine.

@@archbishoppatrick8544 you just don’t make any sense, as of now the the engine options for Thomas HDXs and C2s is the Cummins and the Detroit Diesel. How can you say that they didn’t come with Detroit diesel as well?

Thomas made a bus which looks like a super coach and the first one manufactured got lifted to have its wheels cleaned because the museum wanted a clean wood floor and was taken in that museum, same as the fifth one.

Same interior, no change there. Changes are coming, you'll see it in a couple of years, that's for sure.

It really is time US manufacturers learned from Europe and built something that is modern, disabled-friendly, low-emission and fuel-friendly. That looks like it dates from the 1940s
Safety standards for school buses in the United States are among the strictest in the world. This design, though dated on all school bus bodies is proven effective for transportation of children. These units have the capability of being disabled friendly, but the reality is most school buses do not need wheelchair accessibility.

There’s already disabled friendly buses and it’s odd that there’s somewhere out there a video of a U.S. manufactured german school bus. German also being known for having great engineering and design skills.
This is best for here, we have SPED and wheelchair buses for those disabled kids for a reason bro.
