    Gorgeous bus. Reminds me of the Carpenters we had in the '90s with tinted windows, black window frames, black window posts, and Alcoas.

    This is a welcome option to have a gasoline fueled engine alternative. Modern diesel engines are a burden to operate, maintain and up-keep...Yes they might get better MPG but all that is washed away by their operational costs. You need to buy DEF, you need to unclog the DPF, you waste fuel when doing a parked-regen, you pay for more expensive service, repairs, parts and fuel...
    Gasoline engine means bye bye to:
    •SCR system and its added weight on chassis.
    •DPF and its expensive replacement
    •DEF tank and the need to buy DEF fluid
    •REGEN and its waste of time and fuel
    •EGR choking the engine with hot exhaust gas
    • All the issues that arise with the emission control systems and their constant fault-codes or electrical problems...
    Welcome 8.8L V8 Gasoline Engine.

    Is it legal to buy brand new school bus for personal use

    • @KodieS
      @KodieS  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Depends on the state. Most have insurance requirements that make it very difficult, in addition to getting it registered and inspected.

    Omg that black out is beautiful!!

    • @KodieS

      Technically speaking in industry terms, blackout is when black is deleted and painted yellow instead.

      Kodie S do you know what the order spec is for black window post? I've never seen that before and really like it. I'm ordering a new bus in the spring and would like to specify this option. Thanks!

      Diesel Dice I'm not sure what it is but we also just got a few of them with them, pitch black tint on the windows and black window frames/panes. Looks so good in person, I strongly recommend it! flic.kr/p/Y3icaM

      I'd have to look at a spec sheet, but I don't know off hand.

      Jerry Sylvester I hope. Our buses have been running the DT466 up to 2016 when Navistar moved solely to Cummins. I always like the DT’s more and they weren’t in the shop as much either.

    If it has a gas V8 in it, it’s a gasoline CE200.

    • @KodieS
      @KodieS  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no 200/300 designation anymore. That stopped a few years back.

    • @kyle1021
      @kyle1021 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      the CE 200 designation ended as well as the CE300 designation. It's just now an IC CE for this conventional bus.

    International is putting gas engines back in school buses? Hope they have a lot more power than the one I rode in while I was in Middle School. That thing was too damn slow with a load of kids.

    • @KodieS
      @KodieS  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The motor is built by PSI out of Chicago. I've driven a bus with the 8.8 and it's impressive, performs just like a diesel.

      I don't know what engine was in your bus. If engine working on CNG, it loose more power than engine working on LPG (Propane).
      ps. My 2009 C2 with full load was slow like a turtle :)

  • @Keaton0801

    Glad they did away with the piece of shit maxxforce. Those buses win the maxxforce from 2009 on were always breaking down when I was in school.
