Just as I was wondering how and of what these mineral blocks are made of I found you sharing your home made organic way of making a block for the birds. The blocks are expensive to buy and one can just buy these ingredients and make our own. Very interesting , tks for sharing.
BIRDIOLOGY what happens if the plaster of Paris is not pure and suppose you can’t find some of the ingredients, is it okay to put bird seeds in, what about dry vitamin powder etc?
I have always washed and microwaved cuttlebone, along with washing the seeds with running water then a phase of quick boiling water then a couple of minutes in the oven to dry it out of moister . A lot of people don't believe what I am doing is necessary that's why I am glad I found out about you . love this man. So how often should I give the morniga powder
It is sanitized properly but you lost all those vitamins and risk to altered the fatty inside the seed into unhealthy fat, if you are willing to meticulously do all of that for your bird I believe planting the seed yourself is beneficial for longer term.learn to grow one and harvest it for your birds!
I have one question. Your good manual is of help to me. Thank you so much! I made the mineral block by following your manual, but I think the mineral block is weak for Major Mitchell's. That is easily broken by them. So, I'd like to know how to make the mineral block harder. if I put more Plaster of Paris, will the mineral block be harder? Please advise me about that.

Can you clear up the concern about Plaster of Paris not being healthy for birds? I called Dap to ask if their PoP was ok to use for birds and he say definitely not. Can you explain which type of Plaster of Paris you use and where you get it? I am excited to make my own mineral blocks
Love your videos.. Awesome. . I have a question.. The mineral water is it carbonated ?? Tries looking for plain none carbonated , but can not find any.. And the only one I found is VERY expensive. Please help.. Hope you answer real soon. Thanks
thanks yvette! it's not carbonated. you can just use regular drinking water or purified water. just don't use tap water. it contains chlorine and other disinfectants. if you want, you can use rain water. it has minerals and elements that are beneficial too. and it's free!

yes you can. gypsum is safe for birds.
Much better to buy than make it so expensive to do it
haha.. yes. but by making your own, you know what exactly is in your mineral block. 😊

you can get pigeon grit or redstone on poultry supply stores. reptical on petshops that has exotic pets or just order it online.
Garlic and ginger powder may also be used.
I heard we are not auto give birds garlic that it’s toxic
Sir can I use this for my finches pair??
yes sir. you can give it to finches. you can also give it crushed without the plaster if they will not eat the block.

Pigeon grit? Sand into the mineral block? Surely not needed there at all. Otherwise good video and very nice channel. 🙂

Sir, by using plaster of paris can cause serious health problems for birds right? Plaster of paris can block their digestive tract!
Sir?
