Omg! That's exactly what happened to me just a couple hours ago. I stumbled on his music somehow, can't quite remember how(I'll think of it), been listening to it ever since. He has the most amazing voice! Can't believe I'd never heard of him. Then when I realized he'd passed away, I wanted to hear everything I could find, like I was trying to catch up, all the time feeling almost cheated. Then just before I started writing this, I cried, re-listening to a song from I think his last live performance, where he was wearing an oxygen tube, and his voice broke a couple times, and people were crying, including him at the end. So sad! Such a loss! 😢😭 RIP IZ

Having visited Hawai'i, 25 years ago I learned about the magic of IZ and the magic of the land, the people and nature of the islands. I learned about how it was a sacred home, and the lessons to be learned and honored. This beautifully passionate and haunting song made me weep- for the great loss of before and today. My husband and I spent one week in 2004 for our 30th wedding anniversary. We stayed on the Big Island. I could have liked to stay a month because it was not enough time to see a lot. My dream was realized to go to Hawaii. I have been in Illinois all my life raising my family but there is something about the Islands that is so peaceful and relaxing.
