Brandon, you hit the nail on the head when you said that someone new to tattooing wouldn’t know if it was them or the skin that was giving problems. That was me when I first started because I had a hard time justifying the cost of Reelskin shipping charges but made the switch and am glad I did. So for
Newbies out there, listen to Brandon especially if you plan on eventually tattooing human skin. 🙏poppy

The tattooing industry and tattoo artists need to boycott products that are still being manufactured that are like this. As Brandon explained this can lead to an artist destroying someone's skin or worse in a real tattooing application. There should already be a professional standard for the type of material and the specs required that the industry practices with.. yet this type of garbage is still floating around all over the internet. It makes absolutely zero sense to be practicing on a material that is nothing like human skin. I can see how this type of product would be good to practice on if our skin was like a crocodile, but we ain't tattooing crocodilians are we?!

it's amateurs, hobbyists, and scratchers using this. maybe a few apprentices...the tattoo industry and artists aren't the ones buying these...free market

Imagine if you were a first timer and using these fake skins for practice, there's no way you'd ever be able to tell what the issue is and most likely you'll pick up some bad habits which would not translate well onto human skin

I've recently just bought my very first kit to start practicing using a machine and tattooing fake skin. I want to practice sterilization, my barriers and protection early so it becomes very easy in the future. However my kit didn't come with disposable grips only disposable cartridges with 1 nylon grip. Ideally I would go the whole disposable route to make everything easier but I still want to practice cleaning my machine, grip and tube even though I'll only be tattooing fake skin. I've tried to search through many videos but they all require autoclaves and ultrasonic equipment which I don't have.

Yeah it's difficult if you don't own an autoclave as there really isn't an effective alternative. Which is why I'd always recommend to go fully disposable to save yourself the hassle

Man I have some reelskin on the way and was on the fence about the 3mm ones on Amazon for the meantime because the reels are a long ship time but you saved me from wasting money thanks 😅 I know these are dragonhawk not Amazon, but if they feel similar to the thin ones, then I'm sure the 3mm Amazon ones feel the same

    Hi Brandon,
Did you try the xnet Cartridges? I heard from Mr. Reyes (he has a pretty good channel here on TH-cam too, specialized on coverups with true grey tats).
Have a wonderful weekend! Greetings from Germany

Hi, can you review MAST Tour Pro pen? I have it for some time to practice on fake skin, but I want to know your opinion if it could be suitable for a proper tattooing from the beginning. Cheers!

Anyone can learn how to draw but it takes more than that. I would suggest drawing 101 videos on TH-cam to start and also learning the fundamentals of shading and where the light source comes from as well. It takes a lot of time and practice but anyone can get good with enough practice.
