I'm happy with my old 03 Chevy Tahoe, all original everything except rims, it's got almost 350,000miles on her, she still runs and drives okay but the engine is going to go soon, it's a 5.3L vortex!! I work very hard and just need some help funds wise, so I can get the engine rebuilt, if my engine goes out I won't be able to work at all!!

Same thing happened on my 66 Ford truck hood latch. I slarved it with WD40 and hit it with a mallet. Voila! That was 12 years ago.
Mallets are universal and under appreciated.

Had this before. I loosened the bolts slammed the hood. It latched. Opened tightened it down and had no issue after. An old man showed me how to adjust the hood gaps. It looked like he had no idea what he was doing...i learned something that day.

Guys, the car comes with tools, the ONLY thing he has to ever take the f430 to is the dealer for a high end ecu reset, i woikd habe all my work done at a 3rd party specialist and juat take yhe ferrari in to reset the computer

Ferrari sues and sends cease and desist letters to anyone who they feel devalues their brand. Two notable cases: Deadmau5 and his purrari, and the Purosangue trademark dispute (there was a charity foundation called Purosangue that Ferrari sued for the trademark of their then unreleased SUV, and they won, despite the foundation having already been established years prior, cuz Ferrari said the foundation wasn't worthy of its name cuz it never lived up to it). I mean, Ferrari sued the tv show miami vice cuz they used a corvette modified to look like a Ferrari instead of getting a real Ferrari due to budget constraints. The list goes on. Most other automakers sue due to either defamation or breach of contract. Ferrari sues if someone advertises their product on instagram with their Ferrari in the picture with their product.

best way to fix those latches is to tighten the bolts on the door side enough that it can still slide around but enough that it's not loose enough to be flapping in the wind so that you can close the door/hood, the latch will self align where it needs to then you can carefully pop the latch and open it up and tighten it all the way up, then double check the fit.
Yeah, I bet he didn't need a replacement latch in the first place. Sometimes you need to just mess around with what you have before you buy parts. Clean, adjust, align, lubricate.

You obviously need two people for this, but the easiest way for most cars is to remove the latch entirely, then someone get inside with a flashlight and a marker, close it, slide the katch up onto it till it fits, and trace the latch with a marker, open, install inside of your guide and good to go :)

I’m not a Master Mechanic, but as a kid I “appreciated” under two different one from different parts of the country working on cars with them for about 7 years. Then working on my or other cars up until my hands actually got to big to fit into the working spaces of new cars, also School and life took me away from messing around with vehicles. I feel you man. There were so many times that I and or my Master’s ran into this issue. Worse is that thing like this happened a lot more than you think. The reason is that things are designed to fail now. They are designed also to be reinstalled using specific tools, processes, procedures. If you use what you have in you toolbox like you showed and you also did actual have the manual exactly explaining everything and how to uninstall and reinstall the part needing replaced. Your going to have results like you had. That is why Mechanics are so expensive now. It not paying for their knowledge and skill! It’s paying for idiot car manufacturers who make and allow car designers make vehicles designed that are, so complicated to repair that, what is simple fix takes extra time and effort every by Master Mechanics. This is done done for three reasons. A.) Force car owners to return to their dealerships for repairs. B.) Create more money for the care dealers and manufacturers. C.) This was the most insidious reason, and that was to basically kill all the Shade Tree Mechanics and limit the number or eventually kill the small independently owned Mechanics Shops. That was not just the talk by the mechanics and shops when I was growing up. It was also actually a empirical fact, I learned going through Drafting and Design School too.

The gap different if the way you put the latch in, usually I half bolt them in and see where I’m at so no gaps happen, and don’t move the little piece that latches in the latch

Every car I've owned has been plagued by a gremlin with a small hammer whose sole purpose is to make random things go wrong in such a way that it's never obvious and almost always nearly impossible to diagnose until you've done just about everything else you can do to diagnose and have a mental breakdown.
