Good find! Love the Amiga A2000 and Commodore monitor on the left! 👍 😁

The USB port, other than firmware updates is also used to hook to a PC or server, and along with software or even without on windows will gracefully shut down the computer just before the batteries are used up when it's unattended. The serial port is the same, typically most servers still have com ports for remote serial console and ups use...it does require the software for the serial port most of the time.

Is tgere an internal fuse in the unit? I have one that has batteries replaced but no start. Powering it from bench top gives no power start.

Seems like the red reset button on the back of mine somehow got mashed in during moving... it seems flimsy... it doesn't spring back out or click in when pressed... and when I plug in the unit, which was working before moving, now the blue screen flashes off and on... any idea how to see if it is the reset button? I figured out how to take it all apart as I started watching your video, but not sure what to do about the button because it seems to be its own little box.

Mine's red reset button is definitely broken somehow... I was able to pull out the button with some pliers, but when I press it back it, it doesn't "click" in and it stays in... how would I fix the reset button box? It looks like it's an enclosed unit, and it's soldered to some wires.

I've learned today that even though a battery seems to test perfectly 'externally', it may have a voltage drop faster than the other battery, causing the UPS to shut down quickly under loss of AC power.
["Cyberpower CP1350"] - The only way I could check the individual batteries under load is to get access to the separate battery terminals- I made some heavy spade-lug extensions so I could connect two separate voltmeters, one to each battery. A quick and dirty method would be temporarily wrap some thin wires around the battery terminals and bring them out for the meter connections.
Then, testing them under actual power-loss, one of my batteries clearly quickly dropped voltage and the UPS shut down completely! Replacing that battery fixed it, good as new now, I saved this CP1350 from the trash.
Some other notes - some of these batteries have narrower F1 3/16" lugs and may not be the best connection for the "F2" 1/4" connectors on this Cyberpower.
When replacing batteries it's best to try use the exact same amp-hour rating.

I was hoping for an actual repair video. I have the same model with the fancy LED display and it's completely dead, even with new batteries.

I would have repaired it if something more were wrong. Thanks for watching!

Not really a REPAIR, but more of a battery replacement... I was hoping for info about splitting the case and examining the electrolytics and cleaning the internal dust. If I replace the batteries in my flashlight, I didn't really fix it... Just sayin... Regards --TG

You are not fixing the UPS. U are just replacing the dead battery. I thought u were opening up to get to the circuit board.

I always get the highest amp hour batteries. It does make a difference. My experience with CyberPower is the older and non-LCD stuff is better. The newer stuff just doesn't seem to last.

I just found one of these exact 1500 and so glad I found this video, albeit its over 3 years old..... so what is the Exact type of batteries do I need to buy from Amazon? I have not opened the unit yet... but YES that lamp was blinking..... then leaving it on, in that state, every 5 mins, a lamp I had plugged into the unit, turns on then off.... I hope if it does not work.... I can return the batteries.... I hope you can answer the question... Thanks.... Me, just another computer Geek.

Once again...The point is it doesn't tell you the batteries are bad and most people will throw it away. If they can search it on youtube or google and come across this video when they assume it needs fixed they will see what the common issue is. And yes it is a fix when it isn't working. This isn't as simple as a flash light not powering on and obviously needing batteries replaced. And as you can see by the comments it has helped many people who assumed the batteries were good!

I never considered replacing batteries in UPS as fixing it being it was never broken. Batteries are wear items that need replacement with time. Replacing the batteries is not a fix. All the UPS that I put new batteries in were never broken. Fixing something requires it to be broken first. I don't fix my cars, remotes controls, flashlights, multi meters, and other devices by replacing a battry.
