That’s why you always stack up and stay close so you can call out that you are falling back and for your team to focus your direction to help defend. Hopefully you can get at least 2 burst into the enemy before retreating so a team mate can either melee or 2 burst them from a distance. Knowing where your team is and your position is very key in getting assists and kills. Maybe the enemy had a really good flank or communicated better or it’s just pure luck when you retreated a enemy heard the action and focused that direction. Sound, communication and awareness of your team and the enemy team is what you should focus on. Getting as much damage as you can on a enemy will make it more likely for a teammate to pick them off. Maybe you’ll get lucky and the enemies team will accidentally kill their own teammates with a poorly placed grenade too 😂 Grenades have no team 👀

My biggest issues are my positioning and my shot. Some times theyre both on point and my shot could wreck pros getting perfect after perfect, then the next game im shooting the ceiling instead of the enemy.
Im constantly adjusting my settings because of this. I've found in the past few days the most important setting is not my deadzones or sensitivity, but the POV. Aim assist seems to disappear at times. Adjust it up near the 100 range and knock it up or down every few games and you'll find the aim assist come back.

Yeah, go in the game focusing on what you need to get better at and make a conscious decision every moment to get better. If you keep doing the same thing you’ve been doing and don’t like the results why would you repeat. Some deaths are unavoidable but being a mindless zombie bot is a choice.
Playing “tilted” causes poor decision making… I think for the most part I play fairly smart, but when I get angry I start doing horribly. I run out into 1 on 2 and 1 on 3 encounters which causes me to die which in turn causes more anger then the cycle continues. Slowing down, focusing on your breathing, and trying to remain relaxed is the best way to maintain consistency. It’s more challenging than it sounds but it’s one of the best take aways from these videos from gameleap.
I really appreciate these videos. My accuracy is pretty good, but I make some pretty bad mistakes, like going solo into mismatches and not retreating, which can often translate into giving up deaths for free. I think your videos are really going to help make my game better. Subscribed!
I can tell ya whats helped me, (havent gamed for a decade) is camping and working on accuracy and sticking close to my team. Went from 10% accuracy to steady in the high 30's
As long as you’re noticing the mistake and not screaming what the fuck I should have killed him and where’s my team no one else is shooting anyone. Notice the mistake and work to correct it bad habits are hard to break so it might take time but worth jt
You can't do ANY of this without learning the maps. If you don't know where you are and where to escape to if necessary you're screwed. I don't have the time to pour into this game like a lot of people but I still enjoy it. It just takes me a lot longer to get better because of this and all of the other things that happen to you when you simply don't have the time behind the controller. I watch all of these clips and they are useful but for me it's always been this way. I simply do not have enough time in my life to sit and play for more than an hour or so daily. A lot of the people that are into this LIVE on these platforms and it stands to reason that they will obviously be a lot better. I'm 59 and love Halo! Long time player and always will be.

Some of these players in Ranked are getting the wrong impression from videos like this. I played some Ranked games with some randoms. They are under a false impression that if they go positive, regardless of win or lose they will be alright. NO! You need to win in order to gain any positive EXP. I wish more of these videos would promote that, you need to play the objective and aim to win; not just go positive in K/D.
use AI Scan often as you can get information using it. If there is a sniper spawned for example and it disappears you know where an enemy recently was. Works for vehicles and wall racks too.
One thing that should be definitely emphasized more is the collection of information before your engagements, knowing how much enemies are alive and where they'll come from can be really useful when you turn the corner or grenade an area. One part especially is points of interest that enemies will route to like power weapons, abilities and, objective points then just being ready to encounter them really makes a difference it can seem obvious for areas like OS, spanker, and anything objective related but it really benefits if you can catch them off guard coming from an off angle or engaging them earlier in their route, though albeit risky if you don't know they're pushing as a group or not. Just some experience I learned overtime watching others and playing the game.
Tips 1 and 2 never work for me. Lol Tip 1 is like always situational and Everytime I run away, I still die, but when they run away they always get away? For tip 2, I honestly have a feeling that hitboxes are off right now because even for SWAT, I've killed more than a handful of people through walls . When Im on high ground and shooting people, landing headshots after shields are down and I still die
they have comms, you dont, the reason they get away is cuz u dont have a teammate comming in to back you up, but they are using comms and had a teammate push you the second one yeah yeah your right
I’ve had a problem with getting killed when I’m completely around a corner I get what you’re saying. Sometimes I’m literally a entire 1-2 seconds around the corner and still get killed. Happens maybe once a game.
this works if your playing in a full match of sweats (very rare) or if your team activly play with each other, which is a bit more common, but having good teammates is a common cause of winning or losing, regardless of you skill
What’s amazing is players don’t have to be individually incredible anymore, team focus and minding the particulars of the game mode are all you need with some orchestrated tactics, that being said I can’t get diamond becuase I have people to play with very rarely
A tip i got is periodically check your six. Gun em down and turn around. Also, if a fight is taking too long, even if im winning, imma dip. The more time it takes you to drop an enemy, the more time his homies have to come and flank you.

Dude for th love of god- PLAY THE ANGLES. It's so frustrating to see teammates grouped up in the same lane and not exerting any sort of map control. Halo maps are all about lanes and positional leverage. Yes guys, sometimes you have to shoot farther than 3 feet
yep. no one holds power positions any more. The number of times my team to runs around the maps constantly causing the first guy that dies to spawn next to an enemy entire team and guaranteeing them another kills is annoying.
Awareness of your teams position and possible enemy spawns are key. Spawns change depending on the game mode. In CTF I’ve had enemies spawn directly in front of me because it tries to spawn close to the flag. In slayer, oddball etc… enemies spawn near the largest amount of their teams players. Or if no one is alive they will spawn the furthest away from your teams largest group of players. Staying close to your team insures you a better spawn for your dead players. If you are unlucky and get spawn killed it’s because your team is too spread out or you just had really bad luck with CTF. CTF has the highest chance of spawn kills because your team spawns as close to your flag as possible and if the team has your spawn locked down it’s hard but it gives you a chance to defend better.

Happens too often. Teammates love to get the third capture when they aren't even ready to handle the spawns when they flip. If the enemy on the third cap lives long enough and gets a kill, map control is given up, and the other two strongholds are vulnerable.
A big issue of mine is that I run away from a battle I can't win and then get back smacked or 2 shotted by a different random person. How do I minimize this?
Honestly this has nothing to do with skill, just means they have good teammates who are cleaning up for them after they call you out for being cracked. Best advice is to play with a friend and stick together to clean up for each other. Hug walls for cover, playing “ring around the rosy” with them until shields go back up. Sometimes you fake them out and get back smack
Position on the side of the map your team is on, so you can fall back to cover while they engage the enemy that will want to chase you when they see your sheilds pop. Say you're playing strongholds on live fire and have c and b controlled. If you're pushing mid from c to a and go to engage an enemy and his teammates pop up with him and you have to run, you would back up and run to c tower or drop down to bottom mid and run to pillars or back tower. If you're engaging an enemy and need to fall back, but there's nowhere to go that doesn't have enemies then you're probably pushed up to far.
My biggest tip that helped me not only die less but helped me win more games overall was the very first tip! Play your life and don’t engage if you don’t have the upper hand or equal footing. Halo is hard to win 1v1s if you’re at a disadvantage. If you do have to take the trade tho make yourself a difficult kill. Be annoying and exist as long as possible while letting your team know. You may end up lasting long enough to get backup. I’m currently onyx 1717 but just this tip alone makes your K/D skyrocket
Try to make call outs as short and direct as possible. Too much noise just muddies the message. I know we’ve all said “behind you, behind you, behind you.” Or had a teammate do the same. Being clear and direct is better then just repeating the same thing over and over. It allows for more communication to be made. You and your team should be listening closely. Not everything can be communicated and received exactly when it’s needed but having over communication is real and just makes people more frantic and cause unnecessary stress.

I understand the dropping a weapon instead of changing to your secondary, but what’s the point of doing that with the mauler? You shoot them twice then drop and BR….doesn’t just 3 body shots with a mauler get a kill?
The BR will be more consistent with the final headshot, especially if they are moving away from you since Mangler has an arch and projectile type of shot.

My problem is on strongholds where I’ll have enemies spawn behind me bcoz my teammates flipped the spawns without me knowing, do you know what I mean?

Missing shots bad, hitting shots good, but forreal I try to stay about 35 percent or above accuracy, sometimes mines way less

Try not to rush to the action, steal kills, don’t fight in open areas, don’t sprint, just use cover and high ground, steal kills lol

Does halo have aim assist? I played a few matches last night on controller and def wasn’t getting aim assist.
My tip to get better is get a new controller these shitty Xbox controllers are pissing my off my grenade trigger is super sensitive when I use LB to jump it throws a grenade or if I tap the left side of the controller it will throw a grenade
Add on: the controller im talking about is the ones made by PowerA.
Any controller with back buttons/paddles is a total gamechanger. Can be pricey but 100% worth it.

@@ellowell8160 yeah I know they are reason why I don’t ever buy fancy controllers is because 1: I m just used to playing without paddles. 2: I play on PC so only a couple of games I play with a controller so for my scenario it’s just not worth the money to get a $200 controller when I only use it for a handful of games.

I understand the dropping a weapon instead of changing to your secondary, but what’s the point of doing that with the mauler? You shoot them twice then drop and BR….doesn’t just 3 body shots with a mauler get a kill?
I believe it's four shots if they all hit the body, which explains the BR switch
The BR will be more consistent with the final headshot, especially if they are moving away from you since Mangler has an arch and projectile type of shot.

@@dannywayne311 lol no thanks, I play shooters that actually take skill like Tarkov, Counterstrike, Valorant. Halo IS Fortnite compared to them. The autoaim is a joke and the fact there is even a competitive scene of Halo is hilarious because of it. I got onyx in a week after release and was done with it.
