With that said, we are safe from Aliens 👽 😇😉 😂 throughout the holidays 🎄🎄:)
My “hack” is letting the cat sit DIRECTLY on the wrapping paper whilst I’m in the middle of measuring paper, and then just using her to hold my place/be an anchor because she wouldn’t be bothered to move anyway.
I hid almost every cord in the house just because of my kids and now i don't know where i hid them and i can't plug in the TV with (how my daughter says) mommy and daddy channels so we pretty much spend our days watching Mickey mouse.🤣
My mom does too! I’ve even done it for my boys and made it where the gifts we got for both of them we just cover half in ones paper and half in the other. We normally do one or two gifts each then one or two for both of them.
Same for me. And my country is in complete lockdown now. You can only buy food. Well, I guess it's spaghetti for everyone this year - wrapped in newspaper pages! 🤣
My mom and her mom always use boxes and bags for gifts. They save them and then next year you give them back to each other XD repeat until the bag falls apart lol
My SO and their family does too! We keep reusing as much as possible just to see what holds up lol 😂 it's really remarkable how long dollar tree bags last! I would say some have lasted 6 years!🥰 Last year we didn't exchange bc I'm high risk but I hope this year I get the OK from my drs to celebrate.❤️
That bag is perfectly done!! We have a wrapping tip for you and your followers. We host a “girls night wrapping party”. My daughters, a couple friends , and even a neighbor, come to our house with gifts to be wrapped, wine, snacks and (you guessed it) plenty of tape! I usually start buying paper right after holidays and get a good stock built up. Another tip we started is color coding the gifts. Each person has a specific paper/color. I keep a swatch of each with that persons name on it hidden away. My daughters are in their 20’s now and don’t need to do this little thing as much, but it’s all about traditions. Like opening the stockings first, or opening gifts to each other on Christmas Eve and gifts from Saints on Christmas morning. Happy holidays!
My sister got me a metal life-sized pheasant statue 7 years ago (and he is still one of my most prized possessions, and he joined my wedding 😂), and wrapped him into the shape of a chair with cardboard boxes to throw me off... it worked!
To be fair I love to staple those plastic mailing bags when I return clothes that I shopped online. Nobody has the nerve to tape a ripped open plastic bag. At least I don't. 😅
If you try the wrapping paper cutter going down (not up), that may work better... at least it works for me that way! (Edit: I’m left handed - for any lefties out there!)
I always wrap Christmas Eve, has become almost a tradition to do that. Lock myself in the kitchen with some hot chocolate, christmas tunes and some mince pies and leftover biscuits while the kids are in bed 😊
4:115:40 Use gift wrap to make a bag poke two holes & use a ribbon to secure it into a handle & bow Use tape to make designs & put glitter on top then spray w/ hair spray to prevent fallout Flat iron ribbons to straighten them out
I’m one of the few people who enjoys wrapping gifts even though I don’t do anything fancy, I procrastinate doing it. I find it so satisfying so what about a livestream where we all get together and wrap gifts lol 😂 I’d so be there
That tape dispenser seems like such a great way to stop misplacing my tape, its too bad I just wrap my presents sitting on the floor and therefore its not useful for me 😂
the trick to the SWOOSH is to get a good crease going where you want to cut the paper and then taking a good knife or opening a pair of scissors and inserting the blade into the fold. That was how I was taught to wrap when I was young!
I do the wrapping paper swooshing with scissors there is definitely a trick to it. You need some good scissors (I like the scotch brand ones that come in a three pack) then measure out the paper open the scissors cut so the scissors are about half way closed and glide away from you (sometimes it takes a couple tries to get the scissors in the right position when that happens I just do another half cut and try again) when you get towards the end of the paper close the scissors the rest of the way so that you don't get a tear at the end
Use gift wrap to make a bag poke two holes & use a ribbon to secure it into a handle & bow Use tape to make designs & put glitter on top then spray w/ hair spray to prevent fallout Flat iron ribbons to straighten them out
Rachel doing the pockets hack is me wrapping any present. I think it looks great and then I keep moving it and finagling it around and then the paper gets all creased then I rage, and then I finally finish. I am also like, OMG, why can I never do it right??!!!?? How could I forget. The burst of happiness when you finally think you have it/do have it. Best feeling!!
I have never been able to do the "swoosh" either until this year i happened to buy some really thick paper (really nice quality but really inexpensive from Hobby Lobby) and it actually works! So I think the secret to the swoosh if you don't have magic powers is thicker paper! :)
i worked in a toy shop when i was in highschool. i feel like i've wrapped everything possible. my least favorite to wrap were soccer balls. a surprisingly common request.
Presents for our kids and my husband were wrapped by Dec 13th this year but they're all either books or Lego or for hubby, video games - easy shapes to wrap and any crafty ideas wouldn't be noticed let alone appreciated lol. I deliberately picked paper that says "No peeking til Dec 25". I've been watching them almost salivate over them for the past week and still a week to go. It is satisfying - good motivation to wrap them early.
I'm wrapping presents as they are delivered in mail. Just ran out of paper as the last gift arrived and my parents still need to buy a few more gifts along with more paper...
Rachel I just wanted to say I love your videos! Yesterday I was no feeling well at all, and I just watched your videos and it made me so happy! Thank you for just being yourself🥰💕💕 happy holidays!!
Momma of 17 years here, with 7 kiddos.... this is the first year I am completely done shopping, AND already started wrapping🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 I am super proud of me! *I will not be a zombie on Christmas Day. Omg we have the same wrapping paper. Its so pretty. I tied all my gifts with a lovely sheer red ribbon as well with a small gold border. They are gorgeous 😍
Honestly, once you know how to do it, it takes very little time to do and is infinitely cheaper than buying gift bags. I gift a lot of really small, handmade things, so it's an awesome hack to give someone something to rip open without just trying to fill a mostly empty bag with tissue paper. Plus store bought gift bags are no fun since you can't rip them.
I binge watched all of Jessica's videos on tiktok yesterday!!!!! She is wonderful!!! Everyone should follow her!!! So many good tips!!! Happy Holidays friends 🎉
I have Zero patience when it comes to wrapping presents 🎁 I do love the idea of pretty wrapping I just get so aggravated when trying to do something like these. The odd shape items into a bag is awesome!
That gift wrap cutter is the best!! It definitely takes time to work it properly and depending on the thickness of the paper it can be hard to use, but I think it was 100% worth purchasing! So much better than scissors!
All my gifts are wrapped already 😂 I wrap as I purchase because I can’t wait! It makes Christmas Eve much more enjoyable because everything is done already
This year I was actually done by December 1st. Tree up shopping and wrapping was done. I'm actually able to relax and enjoy the hoilday this year. Have a Merry Christmas you and your family. 🎅🎅🎅
I usually wait til the last minute and completely stress over it, but surprisingly I'm already finished wrapping. Definitely gonna use the gift bag out of paper hack next year because I HATE having to go off my color scheme.
The second wrapping style is actually a popular Japanese style of wrapping. I’ve been doing it for years. There’s some other styles as well that are very beautiful as well. I didn’t use it this year because we all had covid and we didn’t wrap anything lol we just brought it out on Christmas morning then went back to sleep 😴
Tip for next year: buy the wrapping paper with the grid on the inside. It helped me cut the paper to the exact size I needed for the present without all the extra and my presents look so good!
My husband keeps promising to tidy up our dining room table so I can wrap the presents but he hasn't done it yet. It's been his work from home desk so it's covered with all his stuff 😂
We use glitter glue to design some gifts. My grandma saves the designs from the kids that are one the Christmas paper and has a giant picture frame full.
My parents wrapped my own toys/siblings old toys for my Christmas until i was 4! I had no idea, just loved opening something Christmas morning. She told me about it when i was in high school, i think it’s the funniest thing.

I hid almost every cord in the house just because of my kids and now i don't know where i hid them and i can't plug in the TV with (how my daughter says) mommy and daddy channels so we pretty much spend our days watching Mickey mouse.🤣
My mom wraps all of our presents in a specific wrapping paper for each kid. So we can easily pass out everyone's without needing labels.
My mom does too! I’ve even done it for my boys and made it where the gifts we got for both of them we just cover half in ones paper and half in the other. We normally do one or two gifts each then one or two for both of them.
Yup !!! Same, also you get random boxes from around the house 😂 can’t tell you how many times I got gifts in Kuerig K-Cup boxes 😂
that’s what my family does too!!
sameeee !!
This is what we used to do growing up, since apparently I asked mom why Santa had her handwriting 😂😂😂
My wrapping hack is saying “they’re gonna just rip it open anyway so it’s good enough”😂😂
My 3yo doesn't want to rip the paper so she gets me to carefully open them for her, like she's a grandma who wants to save & reuse the paper 😂
Or just throw everything in a bag lol

Came here to see how many other people though of that exact thing! Lol!
“Now I can have milk everyday.”

So I’m watching all this and all I’m shocked by is when you said Julia was SEVEN!?!? Did not know I have been watching you for that long!

Rachel does not get enough credit for her comedy chops. I'm only a few minutes in and already the electrical cord and the milk jokes have me sent.

I definitely use my flat iron to iron my clothes sometimes in the morning because it’s already hot 😂
Totally me. I turn it off and use it on the collar or those kind of small parts, so easy !
I like to wrap odd-shaped gifts into other shapes to really throw people off. I wrapped a gift into the shape of a swan this year.
The effort level lol

Rachel! Look for glitter washi tape! Much easier than the glitter on double stick tape 😊
It’s still a good idea if you don’t have any and want to add something a little extra
Tip for the "shhhhh" you were talking about use the excess roll as a guide when you slide your scissors 😀 makes cutting easy
Make sure to hold the rest of the roll of paper and give a little tension!
I used to pre fold and cut to guide the cut. Also, anyone can do the swooosh, you just need very sharp scissors so the paper does not rip.
@@vanelaguereja i do the same but I use a penknife instead of scissors for the swoosh to work for me.. 🤭

I don’t know why but I freaking love wrapping Xmas presents
I love it until about five gifts in because I get that one perfect gift wrapped then it's just a steady decline in quality with each gift I wrap.
I do the wrapping paper swooshing with scissors there is definitely a trick to it.
