Hair is on my top 5 favorite things to draw and color, and this was also a very requested tutorial.
I tried to add as much information as I could, while still being fun to watch and full of tips!

Lol sometimes that happens to me because I spend to much time on the sketch to the point it slightly becomes a line art but more messy

Every artists weakness:
-Hands
-The Other Eye
-Drawing on the wrong layer
-Trying to erase a small detail when you actually instead erase the whole head accidently
-Trying to DRAW a small detail and it ends up looking like a deformed eyebrow when you zoom out

My weaknesses are
• Coloring on the wrong layer
• Not finishing drawing sometimes and move on to the next one
• Watching a youtube video while drawing which makes my drawings take long to draw.
• (When making manga) Takes long time to think of a story
• Struggling to draw backgrounds
• Perspective (but not the simple ones. The hard ones like in One Piece.)
• Dynamic Poses (but also not the simple ones. The hard ones like in Dragon Ball, Demon Slayer, Naruto, Jojo etcetera.)

Ikrrr it's happened to me so many times - and double tapping with apps that don't have that option

Yeah. A lot of people draw a sketch then gradually clean up the lines until its the lineart. I put so many strangely places lines and circles and boxes that its just not handy for me. I start over and draw on top of my sketch personally 😁
Rosy Kitteh I legit have no idea how to do that, my sketches are very messy so first I sketch then trace on top of it making it a bit clearer and then finally tracing on top of it to do the final line art

I don't normally do that but these past drawings I draw i did that it's really easier 😅 just turn the sketch to a skin tone color i draw realistic and not really realistic so i draw the not really realistic one this way 😅

If it's on the layer right above where it should be, Clip Studio has an option of merging with the layer below or just move what's on the layer down one. That way, you don't hate yourself for deleting something you actually liked.
@the animator zilla Because lines overlap when they're on the same layer, and it would suck to repeatedly erase part of the hair when you're trying to erase part of the head. It's more convenient to keep them separate, and it's the same reason for base colors and shading to be on different layers.
No, I'm not afraid to delete that, I'm afraid that the hair I drew on the wrong layer is my best take on the line art
@Latte Bear Pretty sure any program knows how to do that, I have used very little of ibis paint but they personally have a duplicate button I think, but for any other program I know, they have a copy and paste option

There actually is a way to change colours drastically and make it look good using filters!
1. You have to make a grayscale of the-thing-you-want-to-change-the-colour-of (either by using the hue-saturation-value tool or just a built in filter in your program).
2. Play around with how dark the gray is. Darken the colour if you want to change it form a pastel or white into a saturated colour
3. Use the "gradient map" filter. Play around with it, it might seem complicated for some people at first but its easy to get the hang of
4. Fix up the result. How much do you need to fix it depends on the colouring style: simple shading with not many colours might not need fixing at all, while for the ones with many different hues and reflections you would have to add them in back if they got lost in the process
You can also use this technique to edit photos. Thought i would share if someone needed it (^^♪

Such a wonderful tutorial. I love how it's so different from the usual tutorials you find online! It's a refreshing perspective at drawing hair. It's so nice to look at the "how do I get there?" and "what mindset do I need to achieve it?" instead of just diving too deeply right into the techniques used~

This Really cleared Up A lot of things For me, Lately I keep losing interest But every time I watch your videos of Art I always wanna try again, the tips here are Pretty Good too, I can see where I’ve had my mistakes, I know that it’ll take time to incorporate them into my drawings But I’ll Try Harder.
