  • In this video, I'm going to give you a full cabin tour of my Studio inside cabin, onboard Norwegian Escape. This ship was actually my first ever cruise ship, and so it was SO great to be back onboard for this cruise!
    I spend 7 nights in this cabin, cruising out of New York City, to New England and Canada. In this video, let me talk to you in detail about the cabin, following my embarkation to the ship in NYC. It's clear that this is among the smallest cruise ship cabins, but I do think it's really clever what Norwegian have managed to do with the space in here. Let me show you around!
    A number of Norwegian ships feature this cabin type. If you would like to know more, and learn about the Studio Lounge and the other facilities on offer from NCL, head over to my channel and check out my full review of NCLs solo proposition.
    Let me know - what do you think - would you cruise in this cabin?

    Fraser I realize you filmed this a while back but wanted to chime in because I disembarked from NCL Bliss a few weeks ago. I stayed in the solo cabin. I have been on about 15 cruises of many different lines and this time really I just couldn’t get comfy and settled in with this cabin. I’m glad I tried it so now I know that I really need to just book an inside and look for a deal. I did meet a few solo travelers who booked inside cabins and they actually paid less than me. I think it all boils down to the availability, etc.

      Sheri, thanks for messaging! I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy the experience - why couldn’t you settle in here? I guess it’s all done to personal preference - I love these cabins, but totally appreciate they may not be for everyone! Thanks for commenting!

    I booked a single last cruise, but they offered me an upgrade which I took for a little more money. They gave me a suite at the aft part ot the ship. The cabin was awesome and worth the upgrade.

    While the window is... er, interesting (do you really want to look at an interior corridor?), I much prefer the version on Bliss/Encore/Prima/Viva where that space is a virtual window connected to an exterior camera. It's not the same as natural light but it'll do! The WC is claustrophobic but hey, I'm alone in the cabin, I leave the door open. People are wary of the tiny cabin size but it's well designed.

    • @FraserAtSea
      @FraserAtSea  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good point. The window in here doesn’t actually look into the corridor - the windows are really heavily frosted.
      Agreed though - those virtual balconies on some ships look ace! I’m yet to try one though…

    I'm so glad I found your video! I'll be in one of those solo cabins in Europe soon. I'm curious about the noise level in them. Is there much traffic where they are located? Thank you in advance for any info.

    • @FraserAtSea
      @FraserAtSea  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! Thanks for watching, and subscribing to my channel! Don’t worry about noise - they’re in a section that’s locked to all other passengers, so only solo guests can walk down the corridor outside the room.
      I found it to be SO quiet in there!

    Thanks for this 😊 It's very helpful 😊. I went on my first cruise this past December on the NCL Gem. I'm a solo traveler and got a great last minute deal on a balcony, it is as only $150 more than the interior (no studios on that ship) I've been looking at this and your video has been very informative. Thanks.
    No fridge though, that's a bummer.

      Ok, so I've got time off from work and I pure dead just drunk booked an added leg on the Escape, ney could have a balcony,so I've got one these pod rooms. I'm thinking the coffee machine will justify it.
      I'm ok with the small, the sink just right there in the room reminds me of B&B hols when I were wee. EEK😮
      End of the day, it's my 2nd cruise on a much bigger ship than the Gem, my only other.
      On the phone with customer service to sort something, and the transatlantic is solid booked.
      Basically, freaked, big boat, fully packed?
      Ahhh, roll. I'm sure it will be pure dead brilliant 😂❤🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

      @@FraserAtSea You are lucky because you had 13 nights cruise trip for $511.00. I paid $600.00 on 7 nights Holland America Caribbean cruise in 2003 from Tampa, FL. I paid 50 percent more. It was hard for me to find friends and something to do. They didn't have solo lounge. I hope I will go on NCL next time from Boston or Seattle . I went on Norway in 1997. She was old and nice ship. Also I went on Norwegian Sky with my parents in 2000. I was not much fun. I didn't make friends and was nothing to do but eat, eat , eat. It was hard to find friends on 2,000 + passengers ships. I don't remember if they have Solo meeting. I like to try to have solo studio with private lounge so I can meet friend at private lounge. We went on several other cruises. We meet new friends once then never meet them again. It was easy for me to meet many friends on small ship like 1,000 passengers or less. I didn't go on MSC ship. Other person posted video of his studio on MSC on TH-cam after I watched your video.

      @@FraserAtSea Hi, I changed my mind last month. I will not go on NCL because they were too crowds and deck look like amusement park. I will go on Cunard next time. I like classic ships on Cunard. Also maybe I will go on older Princess ships. I know NCL have nice solo studio and solo lounge. Thanks

    • @FraserAtSea
      @FraserAtSea  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, agree that NYC accommodation is usually outrageous, but remember that this ship could be anywhere in the world, so shouldn’t be compared to just one city!

    Solo cabins, meaning cabins actually designed for one person, usually suck, usually inside, never a balcony. I just book a regular cabin and pay the double price, or usually its a little bit less than double.
    Norwegian Escape one looks like a padded cell, maybe instead of a robe you get a straight jacket....for your safety so you don't hurt yourself lol

    • @FraserAtSea
      @FraserAtSea  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I actually disagree - yes, they’re often small and on the inside, but I’m usually good with that, as it saves me money vs booking for 2, meaning I can cruise more. However, I’m not used to balconies, so that’s probably why I’m totally fine on the inside! :)

    • @KFontLab
      @KFontLab 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s one of the only things I don’t like. No view and the other is the toilet area is quite small. I know it can’t be huge but just a tad bigger would have been nice with a little view.
