I’m gonna drop some of my thoughts: I think that being attractive does help, people don’t like admitting this but it’s just reality, someone can be funny but people want to see more of someone they are attracted to. Also a huge amount of it is luck, like you can use all the hashtags but it’s just kind of chaos. I have my personal Tiktok where you and I have interacted before but then I have a Harry Potter one that is only Harry Potter and I get consistently 50 to 100 followers a day and have gotten a consistent fan base because it’s niche and have started a TriWizard Tournament and brought people to my TH-cam through that. You can use all these techniques and good lighting and stuff and even be niche but it’s also just kind of random! I was on TH-cam 3 years and have 649 subscribers and after 2 months my Harry Potter Tiktok has 4000 followers. I will say that the watch time and re watch ability points system is definitely changing content and agree you need something attention grabbing at the beginning.
Yes there is a certain amount of luck as well and good looks always help because it can be a default initial grab that grabs attention of viewers. But there are so many people who have figured out ways to grab attention without relying on good looks. Also congratulations on so many followers for you niche channel that is fantastic GREAT JOB!
