Hello all this homily is being recycled (we are very green 😊) from three years ago. I had an error in the homily recorded today, and I decided it was better to take it down.
    We’ll have something fresh Monday.

A child like faith. The theif next to Jesus at calverly was not water baptized. And the lord saved him. He repented. He knew he deserved hell. The theif never partook in catholic doctrine. But the lord had mercy. The theif said remember me lord when you come into your kingdom, and he said you will be in paradise with me. No purgatory
for it by grace you have been saved through faith and this is not from yourselves. It's a gift.
Jesus paid a debt he didn't owe, because we owed a debt we couldn't pay.

@po18guy Thank you for your reply. This is not every day temptation. Its a one of biggest I had in my life and I feel very weak to oppose it. Its such a rare opportunity in the future months and yet it is a sin. The battle within is ongoing. Doing my best. God bless. I do pray chaplet daily.

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. Jesus purged my sins. There is no purgatory. The concept was invented one thousand years after Christ although its roots go back before the NT.

The wages of sin is death" is a phrase from the Bible, Romans 6:23, which continues, "but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord".
    Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
God loves, forgives, and saves us not because of who we are or what we do, but because of the work of Christ.
    2 Corinthians 7:10
For [godly] sorrow that is in accord with the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation; but worldly sorrow [the hopeless sorrow of those who do not believe] produces death.

Jesus Christ forgives our sins but our conscious or soul still has stains or remembrances of our past sins which cannot enter heaven and need to be purged by fire. So yes you have repented but those sinful memories need to be purged out. We won’t remember anything we did on earth when entering heaven after purgatory.
The only ones who skip purgatory are the virgins who live a holy life and martyrs. The vast majority of us have to be purged by fire.

God says, "Their sins and iniquities I will remember no more." If He doesn't remember them, why should I? The blood of Jesus cleanses believers from all sins.

    • @ScottPalmer-mp1we
      @ScottPalmer-mp1we 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

It is nowhere directly mentioned and it is a stretch to get it out of the few verses which I have seen used as proof texts. There are many verses, especially in Romans and Hebrews which give strong evidence against such a concept.

The theif on the cross is a perfect example there is no purgatory. And no religious doctrine to be saved. It's trust and faith in Christ alone. Turning from your sins. Calling upon the Lord. Turning from your old self. It's a miracle the Lord promises a new heart and new desires.

All of our works are filthy rags as scripture states. Fire is Jesus. The fire saved the theif. Being saved by his fire..John the Baptist said he only baptizes by water but Jesus baptized by fire. The theif is perfect example that there is no purgatory or religion doctrine that saves you, Read your Bibles Catholics! There is no other name under heaven in which you can be saved. It's Christ alone!
      Luke 3:16-17
John answered, saying to all, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Purgatory is a THEORY of catholic doctrine , on REFINEMENT right.?
i can prove its only a theory, and that 3 times in the bible , We are told refinement is done right here on earth.
Go read for yourself in : ISIAH 48 v 10
    PSALMS 66 v 10 - 12
    PROVERBS 17 v 3
    1 PETER v 7.
So..do you believe GODS WORD, or the popes doctrine?
