- Mike Tyson vs David Tua..
Two Heavyweight Kings with combinations, footwork and lights-out power.
But what would have happened if both men collided - back in the 90s?

The 90's were stacked asf
I don't blame Tua for that
Ya if he fought in a later era, he probably would've won at least one title
@@xavierjuno4572 He would've been champion in any era but the 70s and 90s.
What you talking about, he was the most avoided boxer back in the 90s Tyson and Holyfield didn't want the smoke 🤷
@@tupekalifa6685Tyson was locked up when tua turned pro and Holyfield sparred tua in 96 before the Tyson and Holyfield bout
@@dariusp422 I know that, Tua challenged Tyson and he turned down, Holyfield didn't give Tua the opportunity after he won them fight with Tyson 🤷
I maintain that was a pyrrhic victory for Ike.
He was never the same after doing 12 with Tua. He started hearing voices in his head
It may have something to do with the insane amount of steroids Ike was taking.
@@eLIPHAS3333 No dude getting hit like that can cause cte and ike didn't use no defense when getting him by tua
Ike would have beaten lewis too, he would have knocked out lewis and ended his career
Tua had an equal punch as Tyson BUT he had a much better chin & that would have made the difference. Tua wins by stoppage.
Tua has much slower footwork, less upper body movement, slower hands and less ring IQ. Don't get me wrong, Tua was good, maybe even very good, but Tyson is an all-time great. It wouldn't even even have been close.
@@tonyb9735 Mike Tyson was one-dimensional & he NEVER had a Plan B; if Mike couldn't KO his opponent he didn't know what to do & ended up in clinches. Mike NEVER won a fight against a top-level opponent who was at his peak. Tua never did either so they were equal but Tua was relentless & had a much better engine than Mike ever did. Tua wins by stoppage.
@@tonyb9735Lewis destroyed Tyson but he couldn’t do anything to Tua, barely won on points. And that was prime Lennox Lewis that fought Tua.
@@3dfxvoodoocards6 Lewis "Destroyed" Tua too what are you talking about?, and tua got cooked by a light heavyweight Chris Byrd.
I got Tua winning by 8th round stoppage over Tyson.
“ if the price is right I’ll fight a lion “ absolute savage !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent video quality !
Tua never hit the canvas his whole career.
Mike tyson would’ve put him there
@@chimichangas5105 like how Douglas put tyson there
Monte Barrett put Tua down late in his career
@@cognac510Douglas wasn’t counted out from the 1st real hard meaningful on time uppercut connected with - fight was over … that shit ref didn’t know how to count in any language
@@johnd1466he did count right. The rule is a “10 Count” NOT
“10 seconds”
The 90s were unbelievable for boxers. They would tear the current crop to shredz
he was probably the greatest fighter to never win a world title
do you think Tua was better than Sam Lanford or Charley Burley?
Tua had a better chin stamina and more heart, it’s a no brainier
Yeah Tua would lose. No contest.
@@analogalbacore7166stop being a fan girl 😂
Was Holyfield scratching his ear talking about Tyson? 🤣
Just making sure it’s still there 😂
Great piece 👏👏👏👏
This is gold 👌
Tua is an All time great
Tyson would have gotten his ass whooped.
My 2 greatest boxer is Tyson and Tua 😮😮😮
Great stuff 💯what a fight that would’ve been a 😁 cheers 👍👊
I always wished Tua and Tyson could've mixed it up. Even would've liked to have seen Tua vs Morrison. The 90s really were a special time especially in the heavyweight division.
Tua would've dropped Morrison inside of 6 minutes. I thought John Ruiz had a Helluva chin. Holyfield hurt him in 3 full fights. He lasted under 2 minutes with Tua. Morrison didn't have as good of a chin as Ruiz.....
@@milojanis4901 yeah Morrison's chin was his kryptonite unfortunately. He wasn't the same after that Mercer fight.
Ill say Tua kills Tyson. Its just a bad matchup. Tyson has the technique against much bigger guys, tua has the strength and gritt.
Tyson's speed and combo will help him to win
Only 2 things melt steel beams
1. Jet fuel
2. David Tua
Nice. It's back!
Not only the power but the movement the speed but Tyson’s greatest weapon was his killer instinct.
I am 100% positive that King saw Tua and heard the stories about him and told Tyson to avoid him like the plague. I heard years ago that Tua's camp sent Tyson's camp 3 contracts but Tyson never responded. Tua as an up and coming contender and a tough tough Somaon would have came in shape and wore down Tyson over 7-8 rounds and knocked him out. The pre jail Tyson would have given Tua a better fight. Tyson after prison was never the same, didn't have the same conditioning and did not carry his power into the later rounds the way Tua did. I am also sure that Tyson saw Tua fight and said deep down, that fighting with Tua would be a high risk fight for him. If tyson was training with Rooney and got back to his combinations behind head movement and wasn't on drugs then he would have a good chance but otherwise Tua wins. I got Tua by 7-8 rounds. Tua would've ruined Tyson's career worst than Holyfield did.
The Ike Tua fight for my money was still the most entertaining fight I’ve ever seen in decades of watching boxing. It seemed to take a lot out of Ike understandably but idk if we’ll ever seen volume combined with power like that again from big heavyweights habitually over a dozen rounds
Yeah I don't think Mike tyson would be able to endure that many punches for that long too. He'd use his speed agility.
I agree. Imagine if they had rematches, the rivalry would be bad ass.
Tua is one of many world level fighters who’d have beaten Tyson. Riddick Bowe was another one. Ibeabuchi too. Tyson was good but he had a phenomenal marketing team and a crazy aura but he was very beatable for the top guys. His best win was a light heavyweight.
Both fighters went through a battle outside the ring that drained the best part of their energy. Tyson when he went to prison, and Tua when he got ripped off millions of his hard earned cash. Both of those events affected them greatly. But one thing is for sure, Tyson vs Tua would've been one of the greatest fights in history.
Let’s gooo!!
Tyson vs Tua would definitely have been a classic. My pick would have been Tyson simply on his being faster.
Tua would have beat tyson
No
Prime tua v prime tyson .... tyson gets frustrated when faced with an opponent who can take his biggest shots and is not scared to give as good as he gets.. Tua is that guy...
Never actually heard Tua speak he sounds exactly like Ali down to the rhythm of his sentences 😂😂
tyson was quicker, more explosive, hits harder, and just all around better boxer💯💯💯
Tyson Hits the mat more than tua. Tua stood ten toes on his loses
I love David tour he had power but he wouldn't have been able to f*** with Tyson's power at all two different powers.
I guess you have to look at how they both did against Lewis, Tyson just got pummeled whils Tua finished on his feet.
Tua was more durable
@6:50 Holyfield was not a "big man", he was a cruiserweight!!!
Imagine the the fight between David Tua and 90s George Foreman would be... That would be an another all time slugfest
The grappling would have been a lot to deal with, it'd be tough for him to ever get his distance
@@dwaynem7880 but i think Tua's chin will last long
@@CocaineCowboyJones A chin can only take so much. Chuvalo, rated as one of the best chins ever was stopped on his feet in early rounds by Foreman. Foreman had an all time great chin too, but I think if Tua caught him right he could have him in trouble. I think Tua may have hit harder then Lyle, and Lyle put Foreman on the deck. The posting and grappling though would still be brutal, because he used it better and more often then Lewis did against Tua. Then again, unlike Lewis, George would go for the kill. So that could give Tua some potential openings. But like you stared with, this would be a slugfest and I would have loved to see this one
Foreman would have battered Tua all round the ring. Tua was good. Foreman is an all-time great. It's not even a contest.
Foreman would have missed most of his punches and Tua would have KOed him.
The fact the Tua didn’t fight Tyson or Holyfield is so relevant in boxing in history and today going forward. No names are necessary as we all know the fights we wanted and still want today that will never happen 🥃🍺🐒
If it went less than six rounds Tyson would win if it went beyond 6 Tua would win!
Power factor was nearly dead even
It would be a matter of conditioning
Tua was like Tyson .... in slow motion.
And Tyson was like Tua, but made out of crackers instead of concrete
Michael Moorer was probably Tuas best name?
Crip Mac had hands 😮💨
Holyfield's trap development was crazy
Iron Mike would of ko’d tua
Tyson of 86 beat everyone
All these ifs and what is and mabys. Same relevance as "if grandma had wheels she would have been a bike"
David Tua never been knocked out in his career, slip doesn't count.
tua didn't have footwork---tyson did
This fight would only be answered in EA Fight Night.
Oh wait they don’t make that game anymore
Tyson vs Tua would have been chaos! 😱
Tua was way too slow to cause Tyson any problems.
Tyson would of broke him 😂
Damm this was a fight i always wanted to see. But once again promoters and their greed got in the way. This would have been a blinder
tua had a better chin
Talks like Ali, looks like foreman, fights like tyson
Shout out to the clip from tru school sports 🙌 👏
There is no comparison.. jus saying
Tua wouldve flattened Tyson. Why? Because they both were devastating punchers, but Tua had a far better chin. Tyson loses by KO, prime or not.....
if they fought after the year 2000 when tyson was on the slide i think tua would win,in there primes tyson would win in a 12 round descision, tua had the better left hook though
Tyson was never a durable fighter and had to end fights quick with his aggressiveness. Tua on the other hand, was waaaaay more durable and could go all night long. Any fighter that survived the first 3 rounds against Tyson had a very good shot at winning. The problem is that Tua would not just survive, but he'd be warmed up and would have dropped nukes that definitely would have put Tyson to sleep.
Could you pls Upload your David Tua Video you Had some years ago on your Frist Channel pls
Tyson would massacre this guy, tyson was in impeccable shape, forget about it
Tyson would of easily destroyed Tua
Tua would killed Tyson ina later rounds no cap Tyson would've faded and gave in
Both were fantastic punchers but only one had an iron chin. Tua would have KOed Tyson. Lennox Lewis destroyed Tyson but he couldn’t do anything to Tua.
Reason why he never hit canvas
Is because he didnt fight Tyson 😁
tua didn't have footwork
tua could have never beaten a tony tucker
80’s Tyson had way too much ability for Tua. Early 90’s Tyson, still too good. Mid to late 90’s Mike, 1 dimensional. Tua wins.
Imo he beats tyson after prison but not tyson before prison and he wouldn't be able to beat holyfield. If holyfield could take foreman punches and tyson what makes you think Tua could beat him
Tua would destroy mikey
Tua and Tyson never fought
Both in prime tyson would have eaten tua
Content creators are getting lazy. They compare everyone to mike tyson. Tua was a lot slower and only hit with his left hand. But both are severely overrated.
Fr idk what happened but for the longest tome everyomes the next tyson
David Tua is a great fighter, but Tyson in his prime would have eaten David Tua up even if he was in his prime times tow.
'..What would've happened..'??
As a Samoan from Nz and a Tua supporter.. '..Iron Mike Tyson would've won..'!!
Mike's punch output & work rate, stamina, fitness would've seen Mike cruise to a victory.
Tua woul've had to look for the early knockout as soon as possible given his own lack of fitness & stamina. Mikes defensive prowess would've made him an impossible moving target for Tua, given that Davids work rate isn't even a quarter of the workrate Mike puts out, switching angles to find openings. Putting out 4-6 punch flurries.
We may have seen Mike perform in a way no one has ever seen before, meaning being aware of Tua's knockout prowess, Mike may have had to fight on the outside, move around, get David tired before punishing Tua to the body, to further tire him out. Also knowing that if he gets within a whisker of Tua's left or right.. he might get the wobbles. So we may have seen a different style to Mikes fighting strategy, as opposed to what everyone is accustomed too.
Tua also knows that because of his battle with weight, he'll tire quicker than Mike, forcing him to go into his turtle shell, low workrate stance of conserving energy, looking for an opening Mike will never give him, simply because of Mikes foot & head movement. Tua also needs to show respect for Tyson's power, and not think he can withstand severa power shots from Mike. Tua knows that if Mike lands enough power shots while making Tua miss, Tua knows he'll eventually fold.
I don't believe these 2 fighters could ever afford to stand toe to toe with each other -without any defensive tactics being applied. I believe they both know they need to land more power shots than the other person, while avoiding the power shots from the other. I think they both know they cannot take a sustained attack of power shots from the other fighter... so how else would these 2 need to approach this fight as opposed to going hammer & tongs, standing toe to toe.
Sorry my fellow Samoan's & Kiwi's.. but Mike wins based purely on stamina, work rate, punch output and illusiveness. Mike is too respectful of Davids(or anyones) power, that Mike is not dumb enough to stand infront of him & trade. Likewise with David. Tua knows that a sustained attack from Mike will delfate him, so David needs a totally different strategy, other than his turtle shell, low output stance -trying to lure Mike in. Mike may just use counter punching.
Tua = Tyson Lite
Still a great fighter
