Same here. I've been 12 when this game was released.
As an adult and a complete different understanding of driving/racing it is so easy!
But it still doesn't get boring. I'm still playing it at least once a year with 100% completion.
BTW. the challenge series is way more difficult than the career races are, but still a lot easier as they were back than.

The drag race reminded me of time when I couldn't comprehend shifting. Was like 8 or something and I was stuck on Baron as he had the first drag race. I won by putting him into the truck, then driving to the finish line on 2nd gear.

Just giving a detailed walkthrough from the video.
1st Race - Speedtrap : Build up momentum and stay faster than Razor
2nd Race - Drag : Smash Razor into a wall as soon as the race starts and hope that Razor gets totaled or slowed down
3rd Race - Sprint, These is a hole behind a race barrier. Use it, but be quick. Should be an easy win.
4th Race - Circuit: I don’t know how he won in one lap. Just build up momentum and try to get and stay ahead?
5th Race - Sprint: If behind, use the shortcuts at the hospital. Razor doesn’t use those. If he is gaining up on you, block his way.
He used the lap glitch to beat him in one lap. If you set in quick race mode only one lap in every circuit race track it stays that way for the campaign mode, too, even though the game tells you the correct amount of laps.
There's a lap glitch, but can only be triggered with version 1.2 of most wanted

After more than 10+ years, I've finally seen how to properly use the speedbreaker.
This is the only way to actually have a though race against razor
It's easier this way, at least the speedtrap and regular races are. Rubber-banding does all the work.

There's a mode somewhere in options I think, but it applies only to races started from the menu screen.
There's a glitch involving the Quick Race menu where you can make the circuit events in the career mode have only one lap, even though it shows 3 on the counter. It's a speedrun strat.

Not impressive:) you can finish all game anyway stock car in The game... If you have a slow car, you have slow oponents even in bosses race. When you racing in stock Cobalt vs hmm... Dodge Viper he racing very slow... if you play fast, upgrade car he drives very faster and better

I've finished the game using Sonny's Golf, but only fully tuned... In fact I did all the races and police chases, ect with it after I got it from him, major fun back in the day... What a game.

That's what I hate about this game, upgrades mean almost nothing. The game adapts it's complexity level to the car that you are using. If you don't even have the nitrogen installed, the AI cars that run against you, won't even use it either, Razor didn't use the nitrogen in any of those 5 races. The faster your car is, the harder the game gets. First I hacked the game so that I could play from the very begining, using a mercedes mclaren. I lost twice against sony using that car... one of the fastest cars in th freaking game.... no words. The second time around I got to number 5 on the blacklist using the freaking fiat punto, with no upgrades. It was so frustrating because I had literally no reason to spend my money, at all.
at least you have some challenge, nowadays games are too easy

What's even funnier is that people think 250 kmh is super fast when it's only 155 mph. Every German car with 200 horsepower or better has a governor limiting 155 mph.

bring a maxed out car u will get a maxed out opponent
This is why older NFS games, specially most wanted is so loved by the community.

I used to boast about how I beat razor with the Murcielago (below in terms of performance compared to the Carrera GT but I liked it more than the Carrera GT) and not the Carrera GT, then more than a decade later I come across a video in which a guy beats him in a stock golf. @@zareenahmad7477 "Rubberbanding" is an effect mostly and often used in arcade racing games which causes your opponents to get unreasonably fast if your far ahead and slows them down/causes them to crash if they are. It's meant to create more fun and tension while playing. As if you were connected by a rubberband.
I have a lot of good memories playing this game. Stay up all night playing and went to bed with frustration from losing.
