I love how you are never bored of old racing games and old music like prodigy and other.
Magic of Most Wanted. Its nearly perfect and its a shame no one even tries to replicate its vibe and handling/physics. It only needs couple.tweaks to reach perfection.
@@Kacpa2 I wouldn't call Most Wanted nearly perfect. It has good physics but honestly, NFSU2 had better physics because it actually allowed you to tweak everything about the engine and drivetrain, suspension etc, and also allowed you to naturally drift if you were good with it. Most Wanted however did away with a lot of the actual tweaking and made it simpler, and also added way too much downforce, which makes for easier cornering, sure, but also makes the cars feel less natural.
The cops also were incredibly annoying rather than innovative, all they did was just crash into you and setup roadblocks. If there were more interesting police mechanics, it'd be a lot better.
I am working on my own car physics project in hopes to recreate NFSU2 era style physics but unfortunately it's not easy, there's too little information on the subject out there
@@blinkachu5275 Yes i would like UG2's fine tuning to be back alongside simplified one from MW. I like how grippy MW05 can be while at the same tume feeling heavy and satisfying to steer.
Cop chases are mostly messed up by too weak first 2 heat levels, and lack of player damage. What you describe is rather problem with cops in Heat.
Speed needs to be ramped up by 50% to match real life speeds and gearing to match it. UG2 had less of this issue, i think they reduced it intentionally in MW05 for performance reasons so PS2/GameCube can keep up and map feels bigger. And then it was reduced further in Carbon for the latter and canyons.

Realism Mod V.1: Player got arrested by Sgt. Cross after M3 breakdown. He's found guilty for the death of dozens cops and civilians in several MVA's. Player sentenced to death by lethal injection. GAME OVER.
Realism Mod V.2: Player and Razor got killed on the road by SWAT after causing MVA at the start of the race. GAME OVER.
Realism Mod V.3: Sgt. Cross wasn't distracted by some call on the radio and arrests the Player right away. Player pays the fine, the M3 got confiscated as not street legal car. Player is getting to honest work to make some cash for the normal car. Starter cars: Pizza Car, Taxi and Dump Truck.
V3 would honestly be fun as hell
Player would make a killer delivery man ngl.
Or he could, you know, just commit Pro Street and do legal races.
As someone who enjoyed your MW mod contents from 2018 -2020 I can definitely say that I'm happy that it returned after so long...

I think this mod shows very well why realism in games isn't always the best idea... even though you want it t be realistic most important of all you still want your game to be fun...
The M3 being limited in speed is because it's a GT2 race car. Pretty much all racing series have restrictor plates or electronically limited power. That's why some race cars have less horsepower than the road car.
Can't believe this masterpiece game is 18 years old and still the best game. I can't believe how time flies.

1:19 The reason the gears are so short on the M3 GTR is because that’s the way they are in real life. I think the creators of this mod did a pretty good job in that respect. From what I gathered looking online the M3 GTR has a top speed of 152 MPH or 245 K/ph with a 6 speed transmission. 1:06The gear ratios on the real M3 GTR are:
1st gear: 2.50:1
2nd gear: 2.07:1
3rd gear: 1.69:1
4th gear: 1.38:1
5th gear: 1.18:1
6th gear: 1.04:1
Final Drive ratio: 3.87:1
This is what I was able to find looking online. But there could be other resources with different information that I’m not aware of.
I would love to see if Kuru could complete the entire game with the real life replica M3 GTR. He did it with a stock Punto once.

okay, weird thing - I know my RX8's and mazdaspeed was a legitimate JDM variant but offered no performance upgrades; in US you could buy aero kits seperatly but you couldn't get a mazda speed so not only performance is given for no reason also mazdaspeed rx8 should be a RHD or not a seperate car

They failed at most important part of this. Speed in Most Wanted is 2/3'rd of what real life is mean to be. They should've adjusted it so 100kmh is 150kmh in base game and tweak gearing to match. This fixes acceleration times and makes game realisticot fast. And would make going at top speed much harder but also much more exciting.
It's the game's field of view. Sense of speed is a myth. It's literally just how low or high the camera's field of view is.

Its combination of how close tl the road you are, how much game lies about in engine speed due technical reasons and in case of real life vehicles seat height, noise and vibrations you can feel. (main reasons why big hulking comfy suvs feel so slow even if you drive fast, which may lead to people getting carried away with speed or be unaware of how dangerous they are in these)

So, what do you mean the Turbo is broken for the Golf? You mean it doesn't give a substantial difference? Because I tested it from my Hwy 99 intersection benchmark thing and the Ultimate Turbo wins by around a second.

the BMW M3 GTR had a top speed of 293 km/h in real life so the nerf is kinda meh

Not realistic enough, car needs to be totaled when crashing on a hard surface. And difficult recovery when landing from a jump.
Maybe not as much but damage from Hot Pursuit Challenges mod should be there so you cant ram and collide without consequences abd for long chaces you need to be careful and only indication woupd be smoke if you damage it enough.
Also i agree, its not realistic enough. Speed is still too slow. Game was made with reduced values so 100kmh feels so slow because actually 150 is closer to what real 100kmh would be. with 50% increase of speed value and adjustment of gearing to match cars have realistic 0-100 times, feel.much faster and going at top speed is much more challenging.

How did you manage to play nfs without game crashing ? I tried to play on win 10 and game crashes often no matter what I do
Maybe in game's properties put compatibility with win 7
maybe you have a very old pc. So far i played 8 old nfs games and each of them runs without crashing...

Now don't get me wrong, I am a NFS fan and I also think NFS Most Wanted 2005 is some of the best NFS games ever made. I also don't like the state of modern NFS games. But man, NFS Most Wanted 2005 was never realistic, it had a good handling, good physics, good customization and good tuning which makes it some of the enjoyable and best racing games ever made but it was never realistic.
The problem with modern NFS games is not that it's not "realistic" but it doesn't have a decent handling model, it doesn't have good physics etc. And that's what makes modern NFS games not enjoyable. NFS UNITE mod fixes all that.
