I saw T6 as a 10 year old at the cinema, and I remember some kids cheering when the airship finally fell to its destruction.
I agree that it was a bit dull, but it was better than the first one.
The laughing puppets had haunted me for decades, but thankfully some therapy sorted me out, until seeing them again just now!

I wish Parker was treated better in Thunderbird 6, though.

The regular episodes were damn near movie length already. The cinematic releases just added like twenty minutes and that was that. In the end, what we ended up with were more like high budget, extended TV episodes rather than proper cinematic experiences.

My problem with the first film (apart from the pace) was that it really didn't feel like a Thunderbirds film. We're watching a bunch of jerks we don't know going to Mars, and also International Rescue are there. It felt like the set-up to a spin-off that never came.
The comics actually did the "interplanetary voyage and Thunderbirds are there" story far better. There's one where Thunderbird 3 accidentally gets blasted to Venus, and the other Tracys have to mount a rescue on an alien world full of crazy monsters with equipment that isn't built for the environment.

Second movie is a bit better than the first. "Thunderbirds are Go" feels like two or three different plots that are loosely connected , while "Thunderbird Six" at least has a central plot and clear villains (albeit dumb ones who snatch defeat from the jaws of victory several times) and doesn't feel so disjointed.

Oh, that biplane (Thunderbird 6) was probably the biggest disappointment of my pop culture youth (may as well call it 'retro culture' since I first caught Thunderbirds in the late 70s - ish). I still love the techno-p*rn teases of the prospective additions to International Rescue. If anybody read the Brit comic 2000AD in the 70s, you'll appreciate the allure of damn big machines (or robots) rolling across the land - and Ro-Busters (a Thunderbirds rip-off with robots instead of puppets ... not that much difference really, hmmpff). Anyway, many thanks for another droll and amusing edutainment thang. One of the very few TH-cam channels I can enjoy on repeat watch.

I'm sure that Alan, being the youngest, was intended to be relatable to the kids. His often being treated like a kid would be more empathetic though if he wasn't a hair-trigger annoying brat.
Even as a kid I hated the real shots of the biplane in T6 as it ruptured the stylization of the puppet world. So did the close ups of hands but they were at least very brief and had their own charm. That mixture of puppets and live action of course led to the unforgivable Secret Service which casts a retrospective stench over T6.

I do like the first Thunderbirds movie but not too sure about the second movie because there not much rescuing except for the International Rescue team and what's worst during the film scene Alan said to Captain Foster that Marriages are out of the Question which mean that Alan and Tintin will never be married someday💖💍. I mean come on this so unfair on Alan and Tintin because they deserved each other and so do Scot, John, Virgil, Gordon, Brian and Lady Penelope too when they meet someone and fall in love too. Beside the legacy of International Rescue must continue on to the next generation like the Power Rangers for example.
