Hi, Jerry! Thanks for this video review of postage stamps of Australia!
@@dnipro_stamps Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed it.
Hi Jerry! Good video! Thanks! It is interesting to see your process with the stamps until they are sorted and catalogued. I would have looked forward to sort out that bag of stamps. 🙂 I really like how you label your ultimate album. It is hard work, but I really think labelling each stamp, whether you have it or not, is perfect. When finished you have a road map and skeleton to fill up. You have an interesting selection of countries. I really like the Australian stamps, especially their fauna and flora stamps. Best regards to you!!!!!
@GreatStampAdventure Thank you, Charnie. The Australian stamps are beautiful, and I really like the wildlife ones. Some of the countries I have chosen to collect have a personal connection for me and the others, I just find them interesting. I am glad you enjoyed the video. Take care.
This is brilliant, Jerry. Thank you for sharing your process. I still seem obsessed with paper albums instead of stockbooks for my final collections, but you're inspiring me to consider stock books instead. I agree -- it's a lot of up front work to organize a collection (like with all your labels) but it must feel nice to see the roadmap in front of you, ready to be filled in. Best wishes and I can't wait for your next update! 💖
@MarkDyck Hello. Use whatever album you feel comfortable with, I prefer the stockbooks because they give me more freedom. It's a lot of work, but it feels great when you fill a space with a stamp. the next update will be coming soon.
@@jerrystamps Thanks. I can't wait! I enjoy your videos very much. 💖

Hey Jerry. Really enjoyable video. Showing the process and how you pre=plan your collection. I have to say, doing it that way was one of the next things I did in my stamp collecting journey, back when I had my Luxembourg collection. Sure, it is a ton of work to have labels for each stamp before you have them, but it is so fulfilling seeing the album fill up little by little. Also, solid choices for what you are going to collect. Some big countries (Canada, Germany, Australia) but also some smaller, 'lesser known' (Slovenia, Czechoslowakia, Zambia). Really looking forward to all of them. Curious how you made that decision. Are you having a personal connection to some of those countries, or just 'likeing' their designs? Thanks for this video, impressive how much different kind of content you put into this, in such a small amount of time (10 min episode).
@chrislovesstamps Hello Chris. I have a personal connection to Zambia Australia, Canada, I have good friends there and family in Australia, and as for the rest, I just like the stamps. More to come soon.
Nothing more beautiful than a fat bag of unsorted stamps. I have a modest little collection of Australia. I particularly find the early State stamps interesting. Good video.
@GregoryReeves-g3t Hello, I am going to have a separate stockbook for the Australian states stamps, they are really nice.
Hello!!! I think that after inserting postage stamps with proper description album pages will look beautiful. I'm already looking forward to it. 🙃😉 Greetings! Wojtek
@ronal144 Hello, and thank you 😊
excellent video. good luck in your collecting. it can quickly become unmanageable as lots of stamps come in and putting them where they belong can be very time consuming. your example of homing them in a stock book is one that i do for smaller collections and i buy loose stock pages and use these as needed. lets hope for a great 2025 in stamp collecting and all areas of life. thanks for your videos.
@@peterglynn5181 Thank you for your kind words. It can become unmanageable, hence why I cut the collections down. I hope 2025 is a great year for everybody.
It's sunday morning, I'm enjoying a nice cup of coffee with a cinnamon roll, and your new Australia video was the perfect way to start the day. And you are off to a great start with your new Australia collection. That's a lot of stamps to go through and identify, and let's not forget the most important: to enjoy! Australia is a beautiful country to collect, especially with all the wildlife stamps. I really appreciated you taking the time to explain and show all the steps of your process. I don't think it's crazy at all that you take the time to pre-identify every stamp on those cut out index cards. Au contraire! (sorry, I'm french canadian) I admire your dedication and hard work. I also think that it is the smart way to go. This way, you plan the display of your album, the number of pages needed for each year/set. It makes for a very neat and well organized album. And it also serves as a nice checklist to know which stamps you need to look out for. I am really looking forward to see updates on your collection, and to see this album slowly fill up in a most satisfying way.
@Rangersly Thank you for your kind words. That cinnamon roll sounds delicious 😋. It's going to be a great journey and I am really looking forward to it, more to come soon.

Very nice start to a Sweden collection, with a nice selection of older stamps.

Hi Jerry. Thanks for the very nice video! I really like the way you label your collection, especially also keeping spaces open and labeling the spaces. It is really a good way to organize what you have and really have a grip on what you must still get. Thanks for showing us the interesting early Czechoslovakia stamps. You really had a hard time with both you and your wife's health during 2024. I sincerely hope you both, but especially your wife, will improve during 2025 and that better days are coming. It is amazing how you still manage to make videos! You must be very proud of yourself. If you still want to, please continue with making videos and share anything you want, also what happens in life. We enjoy your videos and will remain your audience no matter what. Very, very best wishes!

just an interesting note: some of the early Czech stamps were designed by the famous Czech Art Nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha. I'm sorry you and your wife are having problems...... I do hope it all works out for you and her. Thank you for sharing your early Czech stamps with us !
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed the stamps, and hopefully, things will improve.
Very honest video Jerry. Keep sharing, both how you feel and your stamps and ideas. I love how you organised the stamps. To preserve places and then later fill those is a fulfilling thing. I prefer this method to anything. I like the labels too. I am curious which 6 countries you are going to focus on, did you decide that already, or is that something for another video? Really curious. I think focussing could help you a bit. I am not judging or telling you what to do. But sometimes it feels you are buying to fill a hole in yourself. I might be completely off here and then I apologise sincerely for that. Focus, add detail, share with us. Sometimes dealing with life is not dealing with it for a few hours. Forget about it, and spend time with your collection. Go for a walk and fish 'n' chips. Anyway. I hope so much 2025 will be better for you and your wife. Take care please!
@chrislovesstamps Thank you, Chris. The 6 countries I am going to collect will be revealed in another video. My labels can be tedious, but it is the way that works for me and how I like to do things. I am also going to just buy stamps for that collection, so in effect, I will be buying stamps for those 6 countries only. There will be other videos such as my Bridlington trips as I have an idea for those. As you know, my personal life is extremely difficult at the moment, but my channel and the support I receive keep me going.
I send you my best wishes from Finland. The nice start of collection and I think that it is a good decision to consentrate on couple or only few ares at the time. I hope you keep sending these updates about your life and stamps. Cheers😊
@@TideOfStamps Thank you. I think keeping the collections down to six will be easier. I will keep everyone posted with what's going on.
First of all, wishing you some form of rays of light and hope for 2025. I'm so sorry things have been so hard on you this last year. It makes your production of videos on such a regular basis an achievement you should be proud of. Because, I can assure you, your videos does bring happiness to other people. I've had health issues of my own, especially hard in the second half of 2024, and discovering and watching your videos makes my days more bearable. Watching and commenting videos such as yours are the only thing that brings me out of the boredom of being stucked at home. * * * This being said, I think it's a great idea to focus on a limited number of countries. Like you said, you can't collect everything. I know that if I don't limit myself to a small number of countries and a couple of topicals, I soon get myself overwhelmed, and get discouraged about my collection not getting anywhere. * * * I think your system of pre-labelling your album pages is brilliant! It helps you getting organized and shows you right away what you are missing and what you have to look out for. Also, when you start filling up those empty spaces you'll get a rewarding feeling of satisfaction. * * * Does focusing your stamp collection mean that, on your visits to your genial stamp shop in Bridlington, you'll now buy more individual stamps instead of those 7 pounds packet?
@Rangersly Thank you so much for your kind words. If I can bring happiness to one person, then it's well worth doing my videos. I am always looking at how to improve my channel, make better content, etc. I will be buying those £7 packs as I have an idea for those. I can't claim that I came up with the labelling idea, but I did tailor it to my own tastes and needs.
I always enjoy your collections and videos. It's a new year and new possibilities. Appreciate your openness.
@GregoryReeves-g3t Thank you, I am hoping to improve the channel, and there is plenty more content to come.
Thank you for the great video, I always look forward to them and I can't wait till the next one. You have so many great collections. I also wanted to say thank you for sharing a little about your personal life. Well take care of yourself, stay safe and thank you again.
@scottfontaine3798 Hello, Thank you. Not long until I redo the video and post what I intended to, my personal life is extremely difficult at the moment.
Good evening, excellent collection. I looked at it with interest.
@serga76.bodrov Thank you. There will be a follow-up video soon.
Hope things improve in 2025. Your loyal viewers are all here for you , jump on and post any time. I was interested to hear that you simply use your smart phone to create videos. This is inspiring me to look at the same . As for concentrating on 6 counties , it;s something I need to do as I grab lots of worldwiders and end up with a conglomeration of a mess. I am mostly interested in UK , France , Austro-Hungary , Germany but am now spreading out into Eire and India . I also like Himalaya post cards. Thanks for posting and please continue. As an aside , when I see your vids pop up I end up on ebay spending my hard earned,
@peterglynn5181 Hello, Ebay should give commission, ha ha. Yeah, my videos are made using only my smartphone. I had to narrow down the collection as it got ridiculous, and now I do the country's I collect better and focus on them.
Nice variety of stamps - very interesting from beginning to end !!! Thanks Jerry very much !!!!!
@@jeffsstamps Thank you, i am glad you enjoyed them.
Another fine looking packet of stamps! I think these make great videos by the way. The variety alone, with a little bit of everything, means everyone of your viewers will find, at the very least, a few things they will really like to see. This second packet seems to have more stamps that will fit nicely into your personnal collection. That must have been a relief as the previous pack had a LOT of stamps from France which you mentioned you didn't collect. Butterflies do make for colourful and beautiful stamps. I can understand why this can be a very popular topical. I've been thinking about getting into the birds topicals myself for the same reasons (as well as being an amateur bird watcher). The Germany FDCs were very nice too, especially when they have a special themed cancellation.
@Rangersly Hello, I am glad you enjoyed the video. Those packs are great, I do have a French stamp collection, so I will make use of those. Butterflies are nice and would be a great topical collection theme. I am a birdwatcher myself, birds of prey are my favourite.
@@jerrystamps Owls are my favorite birds. The bird topical is too vast for me, but I've been thinking of maybe just collecting the owls species...
Too bad you don't collect France because there was a lot of stamps from that country in this packet. I've always thought that France has some of the most beautiful stamps in philately. It's one of the very few countries I collect so I do I have a positive bias. I love those little ''shield''/armoiries (heraldry) stamps as well.
Poland stamps looked lovelly! Love it when a country's stamps are a good representation of their culture, architecture, plants and wildlife, etc. * * * In the video you asked what we collect and how we store our stamps. I collect mostly countries that I have visited Belgium, France, USA) and my own, Canada. I also collect Christmas stamps (including cinderellas like christmas seals) and topicals about comic strips and comic book character. I prefer to store them in stockbooks like you do, and mostly for the same reasons as yours (flexibility and practicality). A lot of my Canadian stamps are in annual albums that Canada Post puts out every year. I love those albums because they also provide a lot of informations and backstory about the individual stamps. I also collect vintage baseball and hockey cards (very limited collection so far), dvds of movies I like, books, and above everything else comic books.
@Rangersly Hello. Thank you for your comment. I like some comic book characters, too, and I find it interesting that you collect those on stamps. Christmas stamps seem to be popular and are great this time of year. Enjoy your collecting.
Happy New Year Jerry. I am watching this 1st of January. I hope the new year will be better than last year. I am happy you still upload videos and I value our connection. Zambia has some lovely stamps. At 1:47 I like the 2 stamps above the circular one you like. They are nicely drawn. I have seen Ciskei stamps before. They were an area in South Africa. I like those ship stamps too at 5:48. I love the approach that you intend to focus on a few collections to show. That is what I intend to do also. I think viewers like being on a journey with you and see how you progress and approach a collection. 10:30 beautful Newfoundland stamp. 12:03 the 30p stamp is nice. And Malta I still have a soft spot for. 13:00 what a stunning British Guiana stamp!
Hello Chris, Happy New Year to you. There are going to be a few slight changes to my channel this year ( 1st Jan today ) and one of those is to focus a lot more on the collections, so I have chosen 6 countries and I will focus on those. I will keep on making videos and trying to improve the channel. Best wishes for 2025.

There is a lot of great looking stamps in there for the price you paid. These must brings you hours of pleasant discovering and collection building.
@@Rangersly I love buying those packs, I will be buying more next year when I visit again. It's the thrill of opening them and never really knowing what is inside.
Very interesting mini sheet! That's the thing you got to love about philately: every stamp tells a story.
@Rangersly Hello, indeed they do tell a story, I need to follow up this story.
I loved this pack of stamps you got. You really get a large variety of stamps in there and so many! I would have loved to be able to buy something similar. Just to discover and explore it is a joy! My eyes lit up when I saw the African stamps - you probably know that I collect sub-Saharan Africa. I really liked the Zambian stamps. Ciskei was a black homeland in South Africa and was in the south-east of the Cape Province, with a short shoreline on the Indian Ocean. It was later re-incorporated into South Africa. Basutoland later became Lesotho. Lesotho is a landlocked country in South Africa. I am looking forward to see what six countries you are going to focus on in 2025. I again wish you an exceptionally special, healthy and prosperous 2025!
@GreatStampAdventure Hello Charnie. Thank you for the information about the African stamps, It is very interesting. I am going to start a Zambian collection, so the Zambia stamps will be useful for that. I wish you all the very best wishes for 2025, take care.
