You are one of the people that immensely inspire me. You are one of the reasons I started this TH-cam channel. You are one of the first few people on TH-cam where I have developed a love for learning. You are one of who I watch whenever I feel unmotivated or just want to give up. I can feel your pain so much and I hope you will feel better. Just remember we are here and that we will be wishing for your safety and happiness as you go through college. I can say I have grown with you because I have watched you ever since 7th grade and now I am in 10th grade. I owe more than half of my academic success to you and other study youtubers so thank you. It is okay to take a break. We hope after this break you will be okay. Take care always and just remember, we love you!
aw I hope your cutting yourself a lot of slack and taking care. I remember being in college and being not a very social person by nature and it can feel super isolating especially in the beginning and that on top of what is going on has got to be a lot. I'm sure things will get better as you move forward but still its important to take care now
Living alone is actually really hard, especially for me, I was alone in hostel on July 2020, few days later I became really depressed (I already had depression but before I moved into campus I was actually stable). Then I actually attempted suicide. My mother called but found out I didn't pick up so she went and checked up on me. Luckily I survived and now my mother would NOT let me live alone lol.
hey jasmine! i went through middle school (and now first year of high school hehe) watching your videos and they have helped me so so much! i hope you feel better as the school year carries on good luck in college, you got this!!
jasmine you’re honestly being so mature given the situation and you should be proud of that! i can’t imagine being so organized with my college dorm haha
There are adults much older who aren't handling things as well as she is. It's good she acknowledges she's having a tough time and does something positive to help improve her mood. Taking a walk, chatting with friends, doing an art project. Whatever helps.
What helps keep my productive and prevents me from burning out is I always take Saturdays off from studying and I try not to study more than 50 minutes without a a break at a time. Getting into a routine and keeping structure to your day really helps as well.
I cant imagine taking vector calc online, that was probably my hardest math class. My advice is to not fall behind and understand everything conceptually as well as mathematically! Im sure you'll do great in the class though. Good luck!
I just stumbled on your video. I’m 28, and I can’t imagine trying to go to college right now during these times. You’re so strong! I started crying watching this because it just feels like so much stress on you in general, and add on college stress as well. You’re going to make it through! And even if you need to take a break, don’t feel guilty about it! 💓
I’ve worked in higher ed in student support for 15+ years and I love videos like yours because they help me (an old and out-of-touch person) empathise with and remain compassionate about students and the unique struggles they’re facing right now. You’re doing all the right things, esp sharing your struggles and processing your feelings and loneliness. You’ve got the right stuff to get through this tough time. It’s crap but it isn’t forever and the majority of your uni experience will be the traditional kind I’m sure 😊 I’m glad you are here inspiring others and taking care of yourself when you need to! 🙏🏻
Just wanted to say that I thought it was really healthy that whenever you felt alone, you called someone. It's a really good example to set to others. I never did this in my first year, and it just made things worse, so I'm really glad you're doing this from the start! The adjustment period is tough, but you will get there💕
Honestly, this video was somewhat really relatable. I’m currently 16 and a junior in high school while taking college classes. I’m in this special program where I graduate with my high school diploma & an associates degree of my choice (art, science, or engineering ), but besides that- although, I’m not at a big university, I attend a community college and my god, do I miss it. It’s been so difficult to adjust to this new manner of learning. I’m doing quite well but it sure does take a big toll on your mental health. I as well struggle to give myself a mental health break/day. I’m constantly stuck on my laptop trying to focus on school rather than focus on myself. I hope you have an incredible semester, Jasmine! You got this, I know you do. Thank you for being so open about your struggles in college, especially your health.
Okay truly sorry you are feeling homesick that is the worse feeling when you leave for college but the fact that you get a whole dorm room to yourself is actually fantastic. I know it may be a different feeling for you, but my sister had to share a dorm with two other girls her freshman year of college and she said it was so crowded and overwhelming.

I'm exactly where you are, I've just started my first year of university as a baby 18-year-old. I've been really struggling with feeling homesick but I just feel so lucky that I have such strong friends from back home, we always know how to cheer each other up even though we're apart. The workload is so much more intense than it was in college but hopefully I'll get used to that. Stay Strong and Love from the UK.
T-T I also got zoom bombed today and it was scary. Some person started cursing and saying it was boring in my drama class and the teacher kicked them out but it was scary...
i'm a second year at ucla this year and it was so crazy for me to watch this because i went through all those same things last year, except not in a pandemic. i was super sad and felt really alone for a while and i can't even imagine how it must be like in quarantine, as i'm not on campus right now. it was strange to me to see those places so empty. thanks so much for being so honest, i think i would've felt worse if this video was just about everything being picture perfect! it'll get better and you're honestly wayy more productive than i have been so you're gonna do amazing :)

Hopefully things will get better soon. I wish you the best of luck. We are all rooting for you! And remember, you are not alone!
it will get better, Jasmine! Typically, first-year move-in is so hectic and busy you don't even have time to think about missing home. Right now is such an incredibly hard time to be an incoming freshman and you're doing great!!! PLEASE don't get down on yourself!
I had a similar dorm experience to yours. It was pre-Covid... but I had hardly any friends and stayed home all day. I just want to encourage you to know that this isn’t forever! My high school didn't even require pre-calc. I took one semester of it as a senior then dropped it to focus on my AP classes. It's not something I ever needed in undergrad or grad school for my field so 🤷 I did take an extra quarter of math in undergrad just in case I ever wanted to take a course that had more math as a pre-req but that actually never came up.

Luckily I survived and now my mother would NOT let me live alone lol.
hey jasmine! i went through middle school (and now first year of high school hehe) watching your videos and they have helped me so so much! i hope you feel better as the school year carries on
good luck in college, you got this!!
jasmine you’re honestly being so mature given the situation and you should be proud of that! i can’t imagine being so organized with my college dorm haha
There are adults much older who aren't handling things as well as she is. It's good she acknowledges she's having a tough time and does something positive to help improve her mood. Taking a walk, chatting with friends, doing an art project. Whatever helps.
'if someone could teach me how to function'
as someone who also just started uni, same 😂
College freshmen of 2020, unite :)
Me too, but I'm from Germany😂
Being a freshman during COVID it'll be such a shock once we get back to in person classes 😂
Good luck!
O-o what type of math is that so I don't take that class next year I'm currently taking calculus so hopefully it's not that
I just stumbled on your video.
The decorations in your room like the fairy lights really help your dorm feel more like home! ❤️🤩
The way you found actions to do, like running and talking to friends as a response to how you were feeling inspired me..
McDonald's: make education more accessible.
Burger King: let's raid twitch stream tts
Bk: Lets marry vtubers
lmao McDonald's doesn't care, this is just a tax write off.
To be honest studyquill is such an amazing person, who shows the reality of college and helps everyone else get through the pandemic!😁
yay early? haven't watched the whole thing but MCDONALDS
..i see mcdonalds rather- i'm not quite sure- controversial is the wrong word-
I honestly wasn't expecting that

Just wanted to say that I thought it was really healthy that whenever you felt alone, you called someone. It's a really good example to set to others. I never did this in my first year, and it just made things worse, so I'm really glad you're doing this from the start!
The adjustment period is tough, but you will get there💕
“He founding fathers were vampires and you can’t convince me otherwise” - someone on the zoom chat 💀
Thank you for being so open about your struggles in college, especially your health.
imagine showing this video to someone from 2019 without context
jasmine, as a sophomore college student, i totally understand. This year is hard and your homesickness is so valid.
Jasmine's uploads make me feel so productive
Okay truly sorry you are feeling homesick that is the worse feeling when you leave for college but the fact that you get a whole dorm room to yourself is actually fantastic. I know it may be a different feeling for you, but my sister had to share a dorm with two other girls her freshman year of college and she said it was so crowded and overwhelming.
starting as a baby bruin myself, I thought i was prepared for the quarter system. i am very quickly learning that i am, in fact, nowhere NEAR prepared for the quarter system lmfaoo. it's a whole new experience, but I'm so excited to get to see your journey through this as well. you got this !!!!
1:24
Finally, a studytuber that uses the vhs effect for flashbacks instead of aesthetics
Me: Oh no! Her Brita doesn't fit so she has to use the shower to fill it up
Jasmine: I fill up my Brita cup by cup
Me: OH NO THAT'S MUCH WORSE
I'm exactly where you are, I've just started my first year of university as a baby 18-year-old. I've been really struggling with feeling homesick but I just feel so lucky that I have such strong friends from back home, we always know how to cheer each other up even though we're apart. The workload is so much more intense than it was in college but hopefully I'll get used to that. Stay Strong and Love from the UK.
T-T I also got zoom bombed today and it was scary. Some person started cursing and saying it was boring in my drama class and the teacher kicked them out but it was scary...
i'm a second year at ucla this year and it was so crazy for me to watch this because i went through all those same things last year, except not in a pandemic. i was super sad and felt really alone for a while and i can't even imagine how it must be like in quarantine, as i'm not on campus right now. it was strange to me to see those places so empty. thanks so much for being so honest, i think i would've felt worse if this video was just about everything being picture perfect! it'll get better and you're honestly wayy more productive than i have been so you're gonna do amazing :)
omg FILLING THE FILTER STRUGGLE!! I HAD THIS PROBLEM WHEN I WAS LIVING IN THE DORMS AND IT WAS FRUSTRATING
you went through a lot during your first week but i'm super proud of you for getting through it! i just know that you'll do great for the rest of the year. good luck and best wishes to you jasmine!
I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE!! TURN IT UP
Jasmine's videos are the most aesthetic 💖💖 sending lots of studytuber LOVE!
I’m so curious how the mini greenhouse turned out!
Haiii love this vid so much! Im literally watching it twice because the editing style is amazing. Also thank you for being so real in speaking on the subject of college, it is hard sometimes :) good luck luv u
This is so aesthetic ♥️
I loved how much you’ve grown on this channel. You put all these details and don’t leave out any of the bad things but you working hard and trying your best to be kind to yourself is so inspiring to me. Just know that homesickness may come and go but you are so loved by your family and the people around me because even your viewers can see what a good person you are. Just keep being kind to yourself and make this special time at the school you were so excited to get into and make the most of it❤️❤️you are doing great
Bro, where’d u get the greenhouse thing? Seems rly cool!! One more thing, the acceptance rate of UCLA is 14%!!!! GJ GIRLLLL
Thank you for sharing your experience, I’m also a freshman in college on campus and it’s been really lonely as well, so this video really resonated with me. May you find happiness and joy in the little things, and stay safe and healthy!!
Why not put the water under the shower faucet? 🤔
@@berrydukes oh yeah! I forgot some dorms have shared showers 🤣 it would definitely be weird
that's kinda genius, i might try that since i have an individual shower :')
@@SDM17RG 😂😂 “oh hey are you about to take a shower? Lemme just get my jug”
@@SDM17RG i had shared showers with like 20 others kids in college and we all used the showers to fill up our britas haha
i absolutely love how honest and open you are about being on campus during this time. i’m a freshman at rutgers university in NJ but they didn’t offer anything in person so i’m stuck at home. it sucks that none of us college freshmen will be able to fully adjust to college our first year. i’m hopeful that things will improve, for both you and me :)
(also i’ve been a long time subscriber and absolutely adore your videos!)
8:55 good to know people still act like children in Uni. Makes me feel less worried
I likee how u always think about eco friendly and sustainable methods ✨
"high school did not prepare me for this" in the thumbnail... oh yes
I found your channel a couple months back, and you're videos are really calming and high quality. I've also been really interested in college, so seeing your videos are really informative. I wish you luck in your education!
You are literally my* inspiration, i want to be like you♡
I’m a freshman in college and boy my first week was rough too! I wish I found your channel earlier! Going through the first semester of college is hard, I’m proud of you B! We got this
I live in England so I’m back to school physically and it’s the DUMBEST thing ever as ur not even allowed to meet up with people outside ur household but are expected to be in contact with 100 people 5 days a week
It's honestly so sad to hear that you are struggling but at the same time it makes me feel not alone(? I thought I was the only one feeling this way (while studying abroad) but I honeslty think that you are doing amazing! I hope you are gettin better day by day and never forget that you are not alone! I wish you the best!!!
Ok but only jazzy can make filling up a jug with water entertaining with that *jazz hands* music hehe
Thank you for being so honest about how you were feeling! It’s very easy to put out a lens for everyone to look through but I soooooo so so appreciate your real ness! I hope this get a bit easier and you fall into a peaceful rhythm! ❤️
You should host a show and tell night with other people from UCLA who also love stationary 🥳
This video is what many students like myself are feeling. My advice is to keep your mental health a priority. It is very easy during these times to fall into a whole that is very hard to get out of. Hopefully things will get better soon. I wish you the best of luck. We are all rooting for you! And remember, you are not alone!
Don't worry about not being able to mix salad
I also can't do that
And because of you, I started my own study channel to share what I learnt from you and myself along the way to others. Lots of respect and love😍😍😍
Stay safe y’all 💕
Edit: how has it been 7 months
it will get better, Jasmine! Typically, first-year move-in is so hectic and busy you don't even have time to think about missing home. Right now is such an incredibly hard time to be an incoming freshman and you're doing great!!! PLEASE don't get down on yourself!
she’s in uni now?? SHES ALL GROWN UP 🥺
I had a similar dorm experience to yours. It was pre-Covid... but I had hardly any friends and stayed home all day. I just want to encourage you to know that this isn’t forever! It gets better from here. I remember crying in my dorm all the time, but now I’m happy, with the perfect major, living in an apartment with my puppy and boyfriend!
The zoom bombing Is very common.. It happns for like every physics class.. And the teacher gets really sad at this kind of behaviour
BTW,next yr I'll be going to college so this video is like trailer of what I'm gonna go through next year..like u know doing everything on ur own and not having ur parents or siblings around.. It's gonna be pretty lonely🙁..thanks for this video.. It was very realistic and smthng every college student can relate to
that ending was so beautiful and cinematic, I loved it! I'm sorry you've had a rough start to the school year but I really appreciate how honest you were in this video, I makes me (and I'm sure many others) feel a lot less alone. 💕
UCLA is so cool! I hope you will have a great time there!
I’ve just finished binging some of your old videos, and like, look at how much you’ve grown! You AND your channel!!
About your water: is there a way to attach some sort of hose where the water comes out? (I have no vocabulary regarding toilets.)
OMG..your college vlogs are soooooo relaxing.. I love them.. take care of yourself and stay safe!
studyquill: took a calculous class her junior year of highschool
me (who was still in an algebra class her senior year): 😳
no worries, everyone's school system & academic journey moves at a different pace :) lots of people here at UCLA haven't taken calc yet either!
My high school didn't even require pre-calc. I took one semester of it as a senior then dropped it to focus on my AP classes. It's not something I ever needed in undergrad or grad school for my field so 🤷
I did take an extra quarter of math in undergrad just in case I ever wanted to take a course that had more math as a pre-req but that actually never came up.
graduated this past spring and this video made me feel all types of feelings. the brita part was very real - i had to do the exact same thing my first year except our water fountain was in the middle of our hall for some reason lmao. my heart goes out to you jasmine. i wish you could have a normal freshmen experience, but i know you’re going to rock it either way 💖
college sounds like so much work yet so fun it makes me kinda scared-
Wow...you're so adorable. Idk this vlog is just is amazing to watch...you're honest. I appreciate your honesty 🙈🌺 I mean like you didn't try to hide your struggles...you're an inspiration to us all. I hope you get better
if you don't mind me asking, what are you majoring in? 🖤
