Gravity Max, the "Vekoma Tilt Coaster" is one seriously SCREWED UP amazing roller coaster! The train gets locked onto a section of track, the track is tilted 90 degrees, locks into the next part of track, and RELEASE! HOLY CRAP!!!! So I went on this ride a few months back. Let me tell you, that tilt was one of the best things I've ever experienced. Just slowly tilting towards the ground, it feels like your gonna fall out. The ride may be short, but it's still unique and will offer an amazing thrill experience. to anyone in Taiwan, or thinking about going, go to Lihpao land. It's great

I tried making one of these tilt coasters in roller coaster tycoon 3. It worked fine in test mode but as soon as I opened it up, the ride filled up, took off down the track.... and cars never stopped at the tilt station, they just flew off and played a game of bowling with the people wandering on the footpath below. lol
i wish they redid rct2 and added more six flags parks

Man, this is a feat of engineering in itself. When Oblivion opened in the UK in the 90s, it turned out it wasn't 'vertical drop', but in fact 88 degrees to keep the wheels in contact with the track. I don't think anyone could say THIS isn't vertical drop!

I work at a theme park operating a coaster. While these things may seem unsafe, the amount of safety features these coasters have is insane. The computer knows where the train is at all times, and if anything is a few milliseconds off the ride will e-stop itself causing it so no one will get hurt whatsoever.
They are honestly insanely safe if you follow the rules.

I think what's really interesting about the Tilt Roller Coaster is that the drop is really not that bad at the beginning, it's just the 90 degree perspective that makes it appear longer than it really is. It doesn't nearly look as intimidating from the front row as it does from the back.

One of the few rides where it's actually better to sit at the back. That view when you drop is incredible!

I remember when I was about 10 and was watching roller coaster videos for fun. This is one of those that I remember! I'm coming back to it now as a bit of enthusiast, and I really do have much more of an appreciation for it! Love this

It's technically Dutch, as Vekoma is centered out of the Netherlands. It's just located in Taiwan.
A lot of Made In Taiwan goods are actually good.
Made in Taiwan used to be higher quality, when China started their cheap labor push, it made it hard to keep that quality and still compete. Today, Made In Taiwan is not as good, well it works that way for any country with outsourcing being so common these days.
I wish they would build this in the states. Namely somewhere in Virginia, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey.

I don't think so. I mean, it has a lot of moving parts, sure, but it didn't seem any more complex than a Vekoma that launches and goes backwards (Big Grizzly Mountain.) I don't think it would be that huge of a maintenance nightmare.

Ikr vekomas are usually rough and have horrible banking but this doesn't seem that bad

Really enjoyed this ride. The back is best for how far you freefall on release and the front row scares the life out of you as you crawl towards to the end of the track section that overhangs. It's also very very smooth. Well worth riding if you are in Taiwan.

Okay, Six Flags; you seriously need to get a Gravity Max over here in the states. This is one of the most amazing rides I have ever been on and seen. The thrill of what seems like being suspended in mid air is beyond belief and the smoothness of this ride alone will scare the crap out of you.........SOMEONE IN AMERICA PLEASE GET THIS RIDE OVER HERE IN THE STATES!!!
What would be hilarious is if you brought your friend on that ride, but didn't let them see any of it. Then when you went on and there's nothing in front of you but air, they'd be freaking out like they're gonna fall off - and then you stop right at the edge and the whole thing tilts, and your friend is going, "WHAT'S HAPPENING WHAT ARE WE DOING?!" the whole time. XD

Too many moving parts and to much reliance on engineering for me in that whole tilting process. They have to make sure that it doesn't let go early, and they have to make sure it's lined up properly. I've seen the capacity for people to fuck things up. No thanks. I don't mind extreme roller coasters, but I'll stick with a track that is already built when I get on the ride.

As fun as that looks.. Fuck That... No amount of maintenance can guarantee that something will not break and though I am sure there are fail safes, if the wrong thing broke it could mean every passengers life. I do live life to the fullest but I also intend to live a long time and the only way to ensure that is with careful choices. The grim reaper is gonna have a fight to get me.

@@CC-xy8nn It cant. Theres literally no way for it to release when its properly lined up. Roller coasters, especially ones with extreme concepts like this one, are filled with hundreds of safety features. For everything that you think can go wrong, theres a fail safe for that.
If it doesnt align, it just doesnt release. If theres no way to align it, it will just rotate back to the horizontal position, and the riders are escorted off.

One of the smoothest Vekoma coasters ever :) And it's using the Arrow track design, so for that to be as smooth as can be using that track is amazing~

I was lucky enough to ride this beast totally on my own in 2005 (front and back) and am still amazed this is the only one they ever built. It's seriously awesome ! Drop tower and coaster all in one !
