I see a ton of comments that show that people didn’t listen or watch til the end. Guys, I was a bit confused too, until the end when they clearly stated that the material they used from another LV bag for the patch was not an exact match, which is why they patched it they way they did… and that the client only wanted it useable again, she was not asking for an exact copy of what it originally looked like.
They literally said at the end that it would have been impossible for them to get the pattern exactly right and that the main goal of the client was to be able to use the bag again, and that was achieved by these repairs.
To be fair, they did say at the end that the reason they patched it that way was because the material they used from another LV bag didn’t match exactly, and that the client just wanted it to be useable again, not an exact match of how it originally looked 🙂
I would have just shortened the bag a couple inches. If there was still a small arched patch needed could have used the trimmed off bit from other side. Actually could have put same accent on both sides so it seemed intentional.
@@madmigraineur3815 I mean, of course, they have to say so. But I don't think anyone willing to pay $2k for a bag then a lot to repair doesn't want the patterns to be perfectly lined up. Terrible restoration!
I saw that too and was shocked that there was no care into regards for that. The misalignment alone would be grounds to trash the bag. Very disappointing 🥲

I work for LV repairs and honestly a lot of the "repairs" on youtube make us cringe. This artist though- genuinely impressive. I had to share this with the team and we were all impressed.
The explanation seems very professional but the fact that the craftsperson did not even align the pattern of the new canvas with the old canvas was a bit of a faux pas.
I did this to my speedy! Not as bad as this tho. Would love to know the price. Got a clutch that needs fixing, waiting for price from LV to quote me on the one as well
@@neuromuzz So they couldn't get material with the same pattern for cheap (knock off)? The black leather isn't name brand either and it throws the whole look off.
@@yoshi420 it was a brown leather bottom, and it matched fine, at the end… the other material from the old bag that they used for material wasn’t an exact match, either. I believe said this at the end. Did you watch til the end and see the finished bag? I thought it looked very nice. She just wanted it useable again, not a perfect clone of the original. I think it was a great combination of using the highest quality substitutes (genuine leather in a solid color, genuine material from an old bag to patch the side) for a quality, but affordable fix. It would be terrible to refurbish a beautiful, expensive bag with terrible, fake leather knockoff print that might also not match.
@@madmigraineur3815 what are you talking about a brown leather bottom? The pattern on the bottom was originally the same checkered pattern that is on the rest of the bag. They replaced it with a black leather bottom. It really isn't a big deal.
What a missed opportunity to make the patchwork repair using the traditional LV monogram canvas. That would’ve made this bag something really special. This repair as it is looks exactly just that - a repair. As if they are trying to cover something rather than intentionally using the contrasting monogram canvas to make the bag something really extraordinary. Something like a limited edition bag.
And this is why we would go to Louis Vuitton for repair. I’m sure if she had the receipt they would have even exchanged it. No way Louis Vuitton would want that Frankenstein repair out on the streets like that. “My eyes they hurt” 😵💫
This happened to my speedy and the burn is really small in two places. They would not exchange it or fix it for free under the warrenty. as it was my own fault .
The existence of this company puzzles me. I can't imagine the type of people paying 2 to 3K for a bag like this would be content walking around with this disgusting abomination. You are better off buying a new cheap bag.
The question isn't "how" but rather "why". I guess when you artificially inflate the price of a bag... At least at the grocery store the bags are still $0.10
I‘d rather buy a new one than have a repair done THIS poorly. Jesus Christ, what a foul excuse to not align the correct color squares. It was the same size, you just didn‘t care to do so…
would hardly call this perfect. They had an idea of technique, and luckily a small amount of matching material, but looks like a "good enough" kind of outcome.

Very true 😊
Exactly.
It was that they didn’t align the squares that everyone is commenting on. They could have done that quite easily.
In my opinion this not a restoration, it is a repair. Not the same!
all that effort and they don't even bother to align the squares lol
