Small fish like dines and anchovies don't have mercury because they don't live long enough. The bigger fish are the ones you need to worry about. That is why Dines are god tier food.
One of the many benefits of sardines and anchovies and other similar small fish is that they have very low amounts of mercury in them while still having all of the other nutrient benefits of larger fish.
Hey, I just got recommended this channel about 2 weeks ago and It's immediately become one of my favorites! I tried a can of king oscars and liked it quite a bit. Can't wait to try more
I got shouted out! :D Appreciate you Matt! in full support! Btw happy to report because of your content I finally worked myself up to eating deenz lol I was horrified and would have never tried them if not for your incredible videos making them look good. Now I eat them and love the spine. What a gift. Keep it going bro - Sean Kubota
I’ve been eating xalapa’s et.al. chiles and hot sauces since I was a kid. My family is Hungarian and along with paprika, we put that s@#t on ever ‘thang. I can’t recall not eating chiles or hot sauce with every meal. I generally stay away the from combat issue and bear spray tier hotness but I reckon sardines and tinned seafood just compliment each other perfectly. Mahalo Matthew!
Aw, he didnt mention the certified B corp logo! I've never seen one on a fish can before. It means: "this company is certified as being not particularly evil". I think it might be an Australian thing though. Been trying to get a job at a B corp for ages!
Yo Homes...just discovered you the other day...dig the vibe! On the sardino front, i just cracked a can that i forgot about by Briosa (skinless/boneless)...pretty tasty...just wanted to put it on your 'wild caught' line in case you hadn't tried. All the best!
I found a teeny tiny can of Fishwife anchovies at my Whole Foods for $8. I plan on cracking it open the next time I make Ceasar dressing, trying a few and using the rest for the dressing. I think it's a relatively new product of theirs and it would be really neat if you did a review on them!
Now I'm just imagining a Patagonia store that is being run like an Abrecrombie, but instead of running around and stinking their wares up with perfume they use fish oil.
@@quixorotica7363 I mean, if you consider making combat shirts and pants “bad” then yes. The company themselves hasn’t taken a contract on in years though. If you were to ask all the large outdoor industry companies in the US if they’ve done contracts basically every big name you’ve ever heard of has supplied gear for the United States at some point in very recent history.
@@quixorotica7363 I’m assuming the tinned fish company and the out door industry company are different entities, Patagonia is also a brand of outdoor clothing here in the states
It has been over 2 weeks since you posted. Even if you don't show proof, I still hope you've been eating and enjoying canned sardines. We eagerly await your return, king.
Could you review Eva brand Adriatic sardines? I tried them and they were great. They have a walrus mascot. I got them at a store in Grand Rapids. There's a peppermint cayenne flavor!
I live in Portugal, and I’m allergic to fish ( besides Tuna, which is lucky and I’m good with seafood) Sardines are are real cult here but I cannot properly enjoy them 😩
I put hot sauce on most everything and keep an assortment of different hot sauces I like around. Sardines just call out for some hot sauce so the normal sardines are just fine for me -- I add my own. Too many packaged foods that make a "spicy" version are just downright lame in both the flavor and heat department. Make your own and zip up those sardines just the way you like them!!
Awww shit, Ive had a can of those anchovies waiting for a while. Maybe its time. I tried the spicy patagonia mussels, and it was the chalkiest mussel Ive ever had. Not sure if it was a bad can, because people seem to love patagonia mussels.
You should consider doing some content around TNG I’m super curious to hear your opinions and hot take on different episodes and the series as a whole! Just an idea but I know you like changing it up sometimes and I have a feeling they might do really well!
Question as someone who is thinking of starting to get into canned fish like this.. Do you chill it in the fridge or just eat it out of the cupboard? lol
Killed it at the lax last weekend- won over $300 and got close to the top 1000 again! I put the skyline hot sauce on my run of the mill dines. Not sure if yall got skyline there =)
I'm late to your game but carefully removing the fish and either spoon the sauce over or even make a vinaigrette or moyo with. I never just pluck them like I'm avoiding the other contents.
Watching canned fish whilst eating canned fish
This makes me want to see a "hot ones" style interview but with dines 🔥
that is definitely a TH-cam niche that can be filled lol
I like the sound effects. These videos are always a good laugh.
When I needed a canned seafood review most he returned, bless.
Thank Our King Carlson For This Mighty Offering !!! 👑 🐟
"Love the smell of mussels. Let me just touch them real quick.". 😂 😂
My hemorrhoids were flaring up as I watched this video. Thanks man.
I have been eating my dines like a good boy and now I have been blessed with an update from the dinedaddy
It’s a good time to be alive
Heresy! Not eating out of the tin can? 😮 Great video as always.
Mathew Carlson never fails to inject lethal doses of mercury into my eyeballs

And the world was healed once more
Love your videos!!! Eating more sardines than I ever did because of your channel!
The spice must flow.
A Patè video would be appreciated . 😉 There are lots of good Portuguese fish and French liver tins to go around.
You helped me get over my “fear” of eating sardines and had some good laughs along the way. You’re awesome thank you

I do love living in Fish World. Keep bringing the heat!
I never thought I’d find a channel that appealed to my obsession with canned fish! You are. God send!
Great video man! Love the channel
Chef John jumpscare, thought someone was in my house
These videos make me so unbelievably happy. Do you make the music?
I gave the fish dump a proper "Whoaaaaa!!!" when I saw that crazy pants do what he did.
Still waiting for the Canned Fish Files OST drop
You uploaded this knowing I needed something to watch with my lunch, didn’t you, Fishdad?

the label "spicy" can mean anything from a few black peppercorns to full on ghost reaper.... its meaningless nowadays.
The can opening music is just so good.
Love your content, I'm a new subscriber 🙂

I have missed so many of these. That's what happens when you go down the YT Gardening rabbit hole. lol!
Awesome! Always look forward to your videos!
This is so ASMR for me. U give me braingasms. Unintentionally ASMR😂
Hah. I sat down with a glass of wine and a can of Patagonia sofrito mussels, and what to my wondering eyes appeared? Matt and I dined together.
I would have to eat with a spoon and slurp up all that spicy oil looks so good

Hey a homemade tajine sardine balls video just dropped . Karima cuisine channel 1:02 long. So grandmas do make it and it is a dish.
Your videos are super entertaining, you're like the canned fish whisperer. Is your background music uploaded on its own anywhere?
My mouth is watering

In Spain we usually don't eat spicy food :)
He meant Spanish as in from a Spanish speaking nation, the Patagonia region is in South America, Argentina specifically.
@@Toastybees oooh okey, my bad!

Didn't know Patagonia did fashion and fish. Nice.
They also do military contracts on cloths on occasion.
