Annnnd I already see something I did incorrectly, which was to multiply the successes x the weapon's damage. Which is not correct- I should just do that for the first success, with each other "6" only counting for 1 damage as they're stunts.

Cool video. One question: is a "panic check" a straight up D66 roll on the panic table? In other words, when the marine sees the alien for the first time, you roll against the table?

It is one D6 and you add your stress level. So you can have a result as low as a "1" or it could be much higher if you have lots of stress.

Seeing an alien for the first time might trigger taking a point of stress, but a panic attack is pretty harsh and not RAW (GM discretion of course). If it’s a Stalker, Scout, Drone, Soldier, Sentry Attack #2 on their table can trigger a panic attack. Target would also be knocked down and drop whatever is in hand. Taking damage first time triggers added point of stress.
So, range is a matter of zones and for each scenario you run you’ll want to be aware of the zones and make the players aware also. I would put all those minis in the same zone, so SHORT RANGE with no modifiers.
6 damage (though as you corrected, shouldn’t have been 6) would put down a lot of xenos. Only the Drone or tougher have 7 health. Important for players, especially experienced ones, to know what class of xeno they are fighting. I see later on you were using SOLDIERS with 8 health.
With the exception of too much damage on marine knife attack, you handled the acid splash perfectly!
With the exception of too much damage on marine smart gun, you handled xeno death perfectly!
11:00 - You started your marines with a lot of stress and it’s hard to believe none of them rolled a facehugger by now on their attacks.
Conclusion - when you fix the damage and address the zones issue, you’ll find 4 marines vs 3 soldiers to be VERY UNLIKELY for any marines to survive. Also, the stress mechanic didn’t rear its head here at all and that seems unlikely, can happen, but unlikely to have rolled no facehuggers. Overall, you’re getting it down and yes, bouncing around in the book to find rules is not fun. Great job!

I never said thanks for this reply- lots of good feedback so thank you! The attacked by an alien you've never seen before panic check is on page 104. Which right if they had already been fighting aliens then I wouldn't have done panic checks.

@@BattleHardenedGames You're right! I forgot about that little table and in truth I wouldn't use the 3rd, 4th or 5th situations to have players roll for panic too much. There's a lot of panic in the game already. Enough for my table anyway. I might situationally use them. For example, I wouldn't have a seasoned marine make a panic roll when pinned down by a ranged attack. I might have a colony supervisor roll though.

@@yourgmchandler yeah totally agree with you that it seems like if you apply all the stress and panic triggers that things could easily spiral out of control.

@ I had a panic spiral just last week running Babylon Queen, a fan scenario which is great. I just shut it down after the 2nd scream. LOL.
