I had an opportunity to drive an F-1 Car. They made me take a 10 hour safety class to do 10 laps. The amazing thing was how hard it was to steer the car. I already had respect for F1 drivers, but after that experience it went up a few more notches.
@@cropereira Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It was in 2007, so I'm not sure if they still do it. At the time, it was $1,000 and you follow the driver in your own car to do the laps. You could also do Nascars as well.

Even if they do, they'll rev limit them like they did with Michael Schumacher's B194 around Spa. If something breaks, you're not likely to find replacement parts easily.
Fun fact: In Suzuka 1993 GP Eddie Irvine (in his F1 debut) was slapped in the face by none other than Ayrton Senna after the race. During the race Senna tried to lap him and Eddie was "reckless driving" according to Senna. After that Senna nicknamed him "Eddie Irviking"

@homie beaglePG Did abit of digging and turns out that it is infact an actual Jaguar R1 chassis from 2000, just with a Judd V8 purely due to far cheaper maintenance costs with it as opposed to the eye watering maintenance costs that would come with the original Cosworth CR2 V10 (Or ANY V10 from that era).
That is a true once in a lifetime experience, getting into an F1 car after that little training and then being turned loose with the car must be truly freaking amazing, Good Job!

I did race those Radical and was Lap record holder at Brands and Snetterton, for about 2 years, then bigger motors etc came out. The Radical is an awesome car, very fond memories of these cars. You done so good!! And you have a cool instructor

Thing is, an F1 car doesn't have a starter motor, this one has. Not sure what engine setup this one has, but it's for sure not an original one. Didn't hear it in high revs, but it sounded a lot different as well. It does look like an original, although her seating position was quite high, but that might be down to her length.

The engine they used in 2000 for Eddie Irvine's was a Cosworth V10, that is why it had that high pitched scream.The engine they used in this was a Judd V8 from about 10 years earlier, it was probably the one they used to power the Andrea Moda come to think of it. The actual chassis is a genuine Jaguar R1 that the team built and used in 2000. But as you may have noticed the ride hight is altered and raised and it is using steel brakes instead of Carbon Fibre ones. They also have an Arrows A23 at the Dubai Autodrome to the same specs as the Jag.

You can't start an F1 car from a simple battery, you need to turn the engine over to start it. Not a proper F1 car
