I'm not sure Abt the death of the Commandant he abandoned. I guess the Commandant forgive him but of course the Commandant is sad he won't be there where his daughter born.
This was a very heroic moment and a very dark moment all in one mission. The use of a nuke to stop an enemy from advancing, and a self sacrifice to make the enemy not realize what will happen.
I remember playing this when it came out. It was a good game with a good story and good characters. Like Bannon. The worst part is, that I took it for granted. This wasn't an outstanding game. At the time I thought that it was a good filler. I thought we would only be going up from that point and games would get better all the time. I was wrong. If this game came out today with contemporary graphics it would be seen as a breath of fresh air. Combining two of the best written characters of this game I would like to say: "I'm sorry and I am humbled to have played with you."

In almosy every RTS i always try to beat it with the less amount of casualties, (except in SC or WC the game mechanics are so crap that many times you are obligated to kill your own units), but here in WIC things happen so fast that you cant avoid to loss valuable units, especially infantry, one little mistake and your squad get shrekt by a phosphorus or napalm attack 13:55 or like in this case, a jdam attack , and hurts more then you loss a veteran unit/squad
His M1 tanks can survive Biological, and Chemical attacks but a direct hit from a Nuclear weapons won't. It was never designed as a Permanent fortress. And he knew the outcome of his faith.
@@SgtShella Well it depends, ground zero yes if it's not flipped over or made combat ineffective it can still work an environment like that (due to the NBC/CRBN shielding) but yeah Bannon and the men with him are gone.

Even though he was an asshole, he acquitted himself - even if only partially.
Man it sucks Bannon died but at least he died a hero, a man, not a coward.
Takes whole courage for him and his unit to use themselves as decoy in the dead zone.

He had a troubled past but he did the boldest choice: Keep the Soviets busy while Col. Sawyer and his troops retreat from Cascade Falls.
