Just curious, where did you mount the map sensor? Looks like you have it connected to the front of the intake manifold near the stepper motor to a port there but I couldn't see where you mounted the sensor itself. I've got a first gen 1UZ on the engine stand that I'm pulling the top end off, cleaning up everything and replacing all the gaskets, water pump, distributor bits etc before I put it all back together so no leaks or crusty gaskets before I put it my old Isuzu Trooper. Engine had about 180km on it, great compression, cylinder walls look amazing, all the cross hatching is still there. Ordered the ECU from Spitronics along with a premade harness they sell for it, all the connectors look good, will test everything to make sure it's pinned out correctly but they were easy to deal with. Can't wait to get it fired up. Seemed a better way to go then gambling with a factory ECU and the wiring harness that came with the engine was a mess. Also curious if you ran it on standard O2 sensors or wideband sensors? Thanks man, your vids have been a huge help, I keep your page bookmarked in my workshop.
At this stage I want to offer a budget package for the 1uz engines which is where the spitronics comes in. Not too interested in other engines with these due to the time I have for other stuff being that I am so busy with 1uz. Cheers Kelvin
Hello Kendy. Unfortunately I didn't get lots of time to show the adjustments on the screen as I was doing them. Even the basic cold start adjustment I was in a hurry. Possibly into the future I might get time to do some adjustment and software videos but I think the guys at spitronics may also turn some out after they have watched this series. I generally Use a Link ecu.
Excellent return for investment! Any thoughts on trying it out on different motors? I can just see "Bargain Boat 2AZ" setup or something...
