Had one that been sitting 9 years and had to pull the heads to unstick the two valves. Engine was from a school as a test engine for a college automotive class. Cleanest 1uz I’ve ever seen and engine shop thought I’d already rebuilt it when brought in.
hey Calvin good idea for a video --> turbo selection.... Im trying to size something up for a typical early stock internal + mls gaskets & studs. Looking at a gtx 3576 or gtx3582r style for around 500hp
I’ve had a similar issue with a uz31 I’ve saved from scrap with 99kms on it sat for yonks, had a few cambelt dramas and ultimately now the right hand side head is locked up completely, when this motor ran it ran strong asides a couple recap faults with the computer, But I’m at a complete loss as to how to free up the right head again, it’s not an oil pressure issue motor never made any noises, the last cambelt issue happend at low idle, I’ve bore scoped it, no dropped valves or uglys to be seen, Would you recomend cracking the cam caps loose and re torquing? Not really sure where to go to from here, crank and passenger side head spins perfect
I was just talking to my wife about how the supply of 1UZ engines has been over the years, and here you are, with a video on extended storage...lol

Yo kelvin how long was that engine sitting for ?
not certain but over 5 years.
I know that side of the engine is always a bit more varnish than the other side but that looks very yuk.
Needs a few more oil changes lol.
Kelvin, good fix! It seems Mac O/S and tuning software don't like each other (unless you run Parallels Software) ;)
