You guys make some killer mods to your cars and you do great work! Congratulations on the drop spindles and I hope you enjoy the cars even that much more. Take care - Ted
I built a car for my friend's sister one day I pulled my bug up directly in front of his sister's bug and made the comment to him her car looks scared😂 because the front end was so high and its backing down like it was in a corner😂
Most of my vw life my brakes are drum my cars are 66 and older, when i got myself a late bug, and tried discs, man what a difference, because of that i modded the engine for more power
@@bomberobus there's a hack i did with my 66 ghia (wide 5) i used the whole brake assembly from a 71 bug which has 40mm wide shoes compared to the original 30mm,worked great, still looking for a type 3 wide 5 brake set
@@vintage76vipergreenBeetle viper green! Yea sir, I’m good. I still drive the dubs ALOT. I have ALOT going on in personal life too, it’s all good and positive, but keeps me from making vids for now. Thanks for checking in bro. Hope you are doing well also.
@@bomberobus Glad to hear you're doing well. I'm doing well also, I got my 76 back on the road. Just miss seeing new videos on your channel, about your dubs projects.
Reusing the line? Brother that old rubber had cracks I could see in the video. Go ahead and treat yourself to a nice upgrade to stainless braided lines. Probably bigger difference than the rotors.
What exhaust manifolds you running, also what heads and valves you got on that set up? I have a stock 1500 i want to spruce up and i'd like to set it up with dual 40's like you
My bad for the late response. Those are the 500 series heads from AA. I made a video comparing those heads to stock ones that you can find in the channel. Basically, that whole engine build is in there. I also have several vids of an 1800cc I built which you might be interested in. It takes no machine work and is definitely worth the extra power. The 1800 that I built in this channel is still running like a top. Best of luck whatever you choose!
great explanation!. Drop spindles are the way to go if you want to get rid of the monster truck look.
“Monster truck”😂, why does stock have to be so high?! 🛻

That was certainly worth the effort, for safety reasons alone, Looks cool too!👍Tony B
Thanks Tony B. You know how we have to balance out safety and coolness 🤷🏻♂️😂

I’m on drums in the 65. I keep telling myself they’re fine but you nailed it…I really need discs with my 1800. One day. Thanks for the input.

Great job 👏
Much appreciated.
Look really good, great work, I'm looking to do mine and i got 165/65R15 and I'm curious if it will rub.
The ones on this Bug rubbed ever so slightly on bumps. Not gonna lie…very light massaging was done at the fender well. Very light.
@@bomberobus Thanks
I like the stance. Has the rear suspension been lowered and what are the tire sizes. ✌
Thanks!👊
Front:
2" narrowed beam adjusted 1 1/2" down.
2 1/2" drop spindles.
Wheel 15 × 4 1/2".
Tire 155/60 r15.
Back:
1 click down on Inner spline.
Wheel 15 × 6" 3.750 backspace.
Tire 185/65 r15.

Definitely getting some because the brakes are bled well but still don’t seem to work as good as they could, for being brand new…and the cracks.
