This is my dream profession. I've been learning to sew for the past couple of years with the ultimate goal of learning how to create professional ballet costumes. I still have such a long way to go in developing the skills and knowledge, but I'm loving every step. I just sewed my first ballet leotard and wore it to class and was so proud! Videos like this are so fascinating and encouraging. Other young people have chosen this unique pathway, so I can too. I would give an arm and a leg to do an apprenticeship with a costume maker in a ballet company. Hopefully, one day, I can be good enough to do that and brave enough to make the leap. Thank you for this amazing video!
Fascinating and mesmerizing! That is so much tedious work, but it showcases the skill of the creator. I learned to sew many years ago, so I understood most of what was happening.
A skill of the highest order. The seamstress looks like a ballerina. My mom made many tutus for me - as an adult- now I appreciate all the work that went into making them. 💖🌹
Thank you for watching! We're always excited to share the many different and wonderful skills that go into creating the magic of a ballet performance :)
Was the blue paper transfer paper? I just have no idea what that was for. Boning the tutu looked really frustrating! Also, are the seams french seams or mantua maker's seams? Really interesting.
Hello! Yes the blue paper is a tracing paper which Federica uses to transfer the pattern on the fabric. She mostly uses a plain seam when making a tutu. :)
Respect amazing skill but some of the camera angles get the way of seeing what she's doing. Feels like some steps weren't shown and it would be great to have some explaination of steps. But the camera angles really annoying cause sometimes can't see what's happening. Need more close ups of work.
I would have also loved to hear about the lady's professional path: sewing tutus is quite an unusual profession: is she a former ballerina herself for instance? How does she intereract with the dancers? With the choreographers? Etc.
i love the way this video starts with federica referring to the blue ladies' size chart book and ending with carrying away the very same book. life goes on
Gracias por compartir este tutorial,yo aprendi a confeccionar este Tutú,con Serena Fusai y ka Casaca Con Samantha en el año 2019, en el evento DEDPERTARES un honor haberlas conocido
Hi! I learned how to make a tutu just watching videos like this. There's practically no one who teaches how to make it here in my country. It's a pity. I have so many questions! May you answer some of them? Like which is the length of the fabric in each layer before pleated? That fabric is also almost impossible to get over here... I'm 44 years old I've been making tutus for the last ten years and I love it so much! Thank you for this video, it's amazing ❣️
It's always so mesmerazing to watch someone who's a master of their craft working. Thanks ENB.

You are good enough and you will get your dream job. Just go for it. I love your humble and pure spirit.
Making a tutu is an art itself, but this movie is amazing!
Amazing Federica and Serena!👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️
master sewers for sure - the ballet world could not do without them. kudos to the people in the wardrobe department!!!!!
It’s nice to see someone making an actual tutu instead of all these tutorials on TH-cam where people make “tutus” for their Halloween costume.
This is amazing really. Thank you ENB for this documentary. This doc also doubles as ballet 🩰 ASMR. 💕👌🏻☺️

This is the ASMR I needed
Federica non sei solo bravissima ma anche bellissima.
Wish she would've talked during the documentary. Still respect her skills.

Splendido. Ma quanto lavoro 👏👏👏👏👏
She is masterful. Makes it look easy but definitely not.
Id have loved a job like that.

The video just shows steps without explanation.
Yes it's a pity. It would have been much more interesting and educative with the lady explaining and commenting her job.
I would have also loved to hear about the lady's professional path: sewing tutus is quite an unusual profession: is she a former ballerina herself for instance? How does she intereract with the dancers? With the choreographers? Etc.
Agree would have appreciated some narration or explanation
Yes. That’s what this series is about. Same with the one in pointe shoes.
Anyone who watches this already knows!
i love the way this video starts with federica referring to the blue ladies' size chart book and ending with carrying away the very same book. life goes on
Rocket science
This is sooo interesting ❤
Could someone have narrated this? It's unclear what she's doing most of the time. I would just hate sewing all that net!
🎩😉🪄🌟
