...even at the age of 63 and having seen the Nutcracker at least 20 times in more than half dozen cities, this makes my heart sing and awakens the 10 year old ballerina who will perpetually dwell in my heart!....thank you!!! ❤️

I’ve gone every single year since I was three (my mom knew that I wasn’t interrupting kind of kid) I missed it so badly this year. And I love how when the curtain goes up during the second half the entire audience always gasps, because how can you not?

The costume department is incredible ! The give the dancers the beautiful look of the ballet !
In NYC, we are indeed lucky that NYCB and ABT have costume departments.
    BRAVO !

    Oh, those costumes! 😍
One of the biggest draws, to me, for watching and re-watching the documentary series On Pointe, was the insight into NYCB Nutcracker
For those of us who live far away, or who don't have the resources/physical ability to travel to NYC to see this magnificence, meaningful production, that series was magic.
REALLY miss the series being taken off Disney 😭

Have always loved (as well as being surprised by) the green SPF tutu. So right but unusual.

there used to be a video where Marc Happel talked about ballet costumes and their making, and the cover was a blueish-greenish like satin corset and an orange and gold tutu picture. I remember watching it like 7 years ago and it blew my mind. Such a beautiful video, and I can´t find it anywhere. I don't know if it still exists, but if you find it, please link it. (English isn't my first language, sorry if I made any mistakes)

What type of tulle does he mention at 3:24 when describing the green tutu? Really enjoyed this video. So many delicious details.
