Yes I in general actually prefer the new canon comics to the old legends ones. I think the comics are the best piece of Disney canon because they’re less overblown than the EU comics and books. They’re more gritty and rooted in realism with more emotion and less bogged down by ridiculousness and people who have god-tier powers which I hate in legends because it's focused on way too much.

This comic is a nice bridge between the ruthless Vader we see in empire and the broken down man we meet in ROTJ. After his son rejects him just like Padme did, he is finally having to face some ugly truths. His confusion, and pain is the only reason the handmaidens managed to hurt him at all. Yet this also the second time he has spared Sabe's life. He really doesnt want to hurt any more parts of Padme, especially someone wearing her face. He really did love her. It's truly heartbreaking. Yet it helps soften him up enough he dies willingly for their son in the end, and his pain his finally over.

Vader in Episode 6 didn't lose to Luke because Luke suddenly got that powerful (he did, but not on the Level of Vader at his height), but rather because Vader grew weaker as he let go of his Negative Emotions and started to truly regret his past, thus more and more losing his connection to the Dark Side.

People like cults in the Star Wars galaxy. Sith Eternal. Order of Revan. Prophets of the Dark Side.The Jedi Order. Etc... Sometimes I think whenever the Force is involved, there is an innate draw towards cultish behavior.
Honestly low-key kinda felt bad for Vader fighting someone with the same face as someone who once loved Him, the only person he thought loved him. I liked the flash backs Vader had it showed how much this fight was more mental then physical. Never thought I'd feel that sad for Darth Vader Dark Lord Of The Sith

You’re absolutely right! The fact that he isn’t a pure psychopath and does have A conscience hinders his dark sides abilities. He’s tried to bury his ability to be empathetic in the back of his head but you can’t truly ever get rid of it unless you’re incapable of feeling it from birth like Palpatine

I'm on season 4 of clone wars and damn I wish they had that level of character development for Anakin in the movies. That series really is required viewing for star wars fans.
I like how his mask, especially the in the eyes, is generally the same throughout most appearances but in moments of intense anger or sadness they subtly change somewhat to convey how intense the emotions are.
I think in a way this helped further sway him more back to the light side and open his mind further to what luke said to him on the platform on the moon of endor about letting go of his hate. So in a way both padme and luke. Mother and son were telling anakin to come back and that it wasnt to late
Also Padme’s male bodyguard the one with the eye patch double for temura Morrison’s boba fett in AOC in the scene when Obi is looking at the clones and you can see a clone eating in red scrubs.

I’d really like a what if story in which Vader turns back to the light by seeing these things and feeling his children through the force, there was that one comic where Vader has a vision of him turning the crystal green, going back to palpatine and killing him. Then returning to obiwan, I’d like to see that story in full
I like it as it rounds out his story more... The moves kinda leave a gap in the time from one to another... It would be cool if someone made a movie from all the issue's.

Exactly, this journey is what leads to Vader's later admission to Luke that "it's too late for me."
So that greatly explains why Vader is weak in the ROTJ

As for the Handmaidens, I'm not entirely surprised Vader spared them, though I was half-expecting him to kill them.

That was a deep comic. Vader is a really fascinating character that I don't seem to tire of. His spiritual journey is so emotional.
