    Which tv will be better for long term usage between lg G4 and Sony A95L?

    Early reviews are showing G4 is showing upper hand especially in motion. Glad to see OLED keep pushing its limit.

    Thanks for this video. I was on the fence between 77A95L and 77G4. It was tough choosing, I have a 65A80L but it's moving to the bedroom, I needed a 77 for the living room and I really wanted a QD-OLED. I don't want to be switching settings for content, I just want to use one setting. I'm hoping I made the right decision since the Sony is quite a bit more than the LG.

    Hey Iceman, great video! The A95l is an amazing TV but the 77 inch at $5000 is not the best. Im looking at the LG G4 or the Hisense U8N at 85 inches.

    Which TV would be better for watching F-1 racing, football and other sports (30% Time)(important fluent movement of the picture) and for streaming (40 % Time) (important contrast and colours)? A95L or Mini LED from Sony 2024?

    • @johnmartin7158

      Perhaps the Sony for sports, would be a slight edge only. But value for money the G4.

      Hi! I know I'm late to the party, but the A95L is going to give you the more significant motion and colors. The G4 is very very close, but it's a slight edge here. The new 2024 Bravia 9 will be absolutely amazing if you don't mind the slightly less perfect blacks and a small case of blooming. If you can hold out for that, I would get the Bravia 9 or get an A95L now. The G4 is the gaming TV champ here, and especially if you need an 83 inch size although the Bravia 9 can come in 85 inches.

    A95L definitely proves it's a 2024 TV, it's actually as bright or even brighter at times. I like Sony. I am lookin at their new MiniLED as my next TV with the new backlight. But if that doesn't pan out as well as hoped.
    I will however likely go with a G4. The reasoning for that is they have a lot of extra features, processing is improved and then there is the 5 year panel warranty. For me here in Canada and getting a BB warranty for 77" would cost $1,500 before taxes. for just that. That is just too much. So the G4 is a better option that way. The 144Hz for me gaming on PC and all the AI tweaks and settings is enticing.
    Yes QDOLED is better than WOLED. But it's not by some massive degree. Also they are both OLED so can't really go wrong with either. But I am more worried about burn in with A95L and got to have warranty.
    See I use my TV as my PC monitor and I am on it a LOT. Many hours per day because its' the display interface for all that I do. Browsing. YT, other things and gaming and watching movies/shows.
    So it needs to have a warranty. The G4 just comes with it for free. For 5 years with one free panel exchange. The BB warranty in Canada covers 4 years and like I said, cost a huge amount.
    So unless the G4 is bad in some way and I am not getting the Sony. Then the G4 would be the "OLED" option if I go that route.
    But the MiniLED is first pick and choice. I am fine with tiny blooming and infinite contrast is overrated because things in real life isn't "infinite black anything". So it's artificial.
    The Sony MiniLED likely will have superior shadow detail and near black handling.

      Hey loki! I certainly understand, and you won't be upset with the G4, its like Kobe vs MJ (A95L) lol. In your situation, it makes a LOT OF SENSE to get the G4. I generally do recommend other brands to people all the time depending on their use case. Did you get it (the LG G4) by now by any chance?

      I haven’t seen any of these TV’s in person but the G4 looks the most impressive to me. Near perfect whites and out of box color accuracy. Seems to also punch a little brighter and show more detail in a picture in comparison to the A95L. But hey! There’s always something new and better right around the corner. I’m looking forward to seeing how the Bravia 9 is going to stack up to these oleds.

    So one thing nobody talks about is in its smoothness, the LG is better in that regard. I have bad stigmatism, so my eye becomes bothered if it’s not liquid smooth. I’m sorry but Sony is just not as good when things are in motion and panning. It pulls me out of the experience every time. Over and over again.

    • @partizanbgd0113
      @partizanbgd0113 หลายเดือนก่อน

      100%. I returned a95l and went back to g4 when I realize it was fomo (not the TH-camr) that made me think Sony is better. QD oled is nice but it’s somewhat unrealistic at times pushing colour where I know it doesn’t get that colourful. Also, I experienced stutter with a95l in slow scenes and Dolby vision is just not as good as it is on LG. It is overpriced for what it offers when you look at its competitors.
      The fact everyone is crowning Sony as the most cinematic tv is simply not true. It’s the best compliment to Sony’s marketing department.

    • @icemanandbobtechandgaming
      @icemanandbobtechandgaming  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! I would go with the larger size TV in this case if you are going to upgrade, UNLESS you can't go from OLED to LED even if it is 8K (processing). IF you hate blooming, or do a lot of off angle viewing, that's the main reason I wouldn't go from an S95B to the 900B, but other than this, you'll love the 900B. The S95B is still close enough to the S95D. The S95D is better, brighter, and has the anti-reflective coating, but it's not a massacre by any means, especially with the S95B on Firmware 1622.

    • @mercman009
      @mercman009 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I "traded" my 95B for a 90C same size. 65". I can see a processing difference on the C, speed of menu, the gaming is smoother. I Xbox game on the C and PS5 game on the 900B. I enjoy the softer more detailed picture on the D. Spent less than $2300 for both TVs. I had the Q80R for 4 years and that tv had freesync. Great for gaming as well.

    • @icemanandbobtechandgaming
      @icemanandbobtechandgaming  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! Thanks for your support! I would go with the 83 inch G4 as there's not a TON of differences between the A95L and G4 outside of some gaming features. The larger size will trump the better picture processing UNLESS you primarily watch older films and content and need the upscaling. The G4 is good, but not as good as the A95L which will turn your old shows and movies into looking as if they were remastered (the upscaling is that good).

    Brother, whoever buys any of these tv sets will buy or already owns a soundbar. Samsung is great looking tv but I don’t trust Samsung at all. Sony really did people dirty by not fixing all the issues in the A95L and they most likely won’t by the time they come out with another master series in 2025. To pay that premium for lack of support, no thanks. I owned both a95l and g4, and kept the G4, and I almost always buy Sony, besides owning a Samsung one time and had issues, just like with all their appliances, so it’s a hard pass on Samsung.

I wish they would come back to the States as they were awesome in the past! Vincent being in the UK has access to Panasonic and all the TVs sold in the U.S. are sold in the UK and worldwide (take note Panasonic), that's the only reason why he covers them. We've even invited Panasonic to the TV Shootouts, but they haven't shown up here in the U.S. If Vincent was here in the States, he'd be in the same boat. It's great that he isn't though for coverage sake for the community. It's great that someone gets to cover something that we cannot.

      Vincent is a rare exception in the Industry to have the access and ability to cover TV brands that aren't sold in the UK aka his local region. This is not the case for most TV reviews in the UK, U.S., or anywhere in the world large or small. We can generally only cover what we have access to as the consumers in that area generally won't have access to them either aka there's no market for them to cover as no one can buy or sell them shy of a rare exception such as Vincent.
