  • A very busy day for the London International Cruise Terminal in Tilbury on the River Thames on Sunday 28th October 2018 with two cruise ships belonging to Cruise & Maritime Voyages gracing the port.
The two ships in question were the "Magellan" and "Columbus", the first time that these two have possibly been seen together since "Columbus" joined the fleet in 2017. Due to their size, it wasn't possible for the two to share the landing stage at the Cruise Terminal so "Columbus" docked there whilst "Magellan" went into the docks themselves via the Lock.
Both ships were listed to depart at 16:00 hours but "Magellan" departed well before 15:00 hours and was out in the Thames by 15:40. She passed "Columbus" at exactly 16:00 and after exchanging horn blasts with each other, "Columbus" pulled away and turned before following "Magellan" down the River towards the North Sea.
Both ships were heading for The Netherlands with "Columbus" going to Amsterdam and "Magellan" to Rotterdam. "Magellan" is then heading up to the Norwegian Fjords whilst "Columbus" goes on to Hamburg and then Antwerp before returning to Tilbury.
