Not a big deal but the detail with her feet at 40:52 was great. Her feet didn't fall down the way you'd think so it makes that levitating moment so realistic. Love these movies.

Can I just say I'm absolutely in love with you both, your energy, the way you treat each other, talk to each other, its easy to see you two are very loving people. Thank you for helping teach normies (non horror fans) that not all of us who love these movies are scary, crazy, mean, bad people (as has been said to me a few times in my life, JUST bc I love horror). Thank you both for making me feel safe and at home watching your videos, I feel like I'm talking to my fellow horror nerd friends lol.

@@allisonhunter1063 my husband and I joke about our imaginary "TH-cam neighborhood" where all our favorite TH-camrs live as our neighbors and it has Wes and Chey, Adam from North of the Border, FunkyFrogBait, Ashleigh Burton, BryceMase, and QuinBoBin (and his dog). There are frequent block parties and everyone has pets so nobody ever sets off fireworks.

And I totally agree, we wouldn't have fireworks either and we would always have block parties lol.

I am currently having a CONJURING UNIVERSE marathon. Every year on New Years Eve is my "NEW YEAR, NEW FEAR" party with all my close friends where we dress up in our favorite horror attire of the previous year then watch 1 random horror movie that flopped and give our input.
We are on year 4 of this tradition, this year we all really liked "The Nun II" as our "NEW FEAR MOVIE AWARD"

So the movie is actually a more calmed version of what the actual Perron family went through. As for Bathsheba, Lorraine blamed her for everything when in reality, Bathsheba was never accused of being a witch and Satan lover, or being related to a witch. Andrea Perron as well as Carolyn believe the evil haunting the house is a woman with a broken neck who did terrorize Carolyn often.

I deeply adore watching with the two of you. I laugh so much. If you haven't already watched the series, Hemlock Grove, I think you will salivate. Mommies, daddies, and eye candy galore wrapped up in a wonderland of campy horror ala soap opera.

As stans for Vera, you will appreciate this: My parents used to own a popular coffee roasting business (they sold it to the employees and are retired now). It's in an area north of NYC that seems to be a low-key favorite place for celebrities to spend downtime. They had several famous customers over the years- my dad was strict with everyone about not hounding them and just treating them as well as any customer. My stepmother served VERA more than once there- she came in for coffee a few times. One time, she came in looking for a redeye (cup of coffee with a shot of espresso, it's popular with hospital staff), saying she was exhausted, having spent the night at the hospital nearby because her sister was having a baby. My stepmom said she was absolutely stunning, even on no sleep. Just a naturally gorgeous, genetically gifted person. She said every time she came in, Vera was lovely and gracious, just a beautiful person inside and out. I think Vera was her favorite celebrity customer. (ETA: I've noticed your holiday decorations in the background and I hope you both had a magical holiday!)
Love the Conjuring movies and it makes it even better that (I believe it’s the grandmother to Judy) shares my name! Even spelled the same way. Don’t see many people with my name, especially not in a movie!!
Love your reaction and this movie. My only issue is the boarded up cellar with the furnace in it. Everyone needs access to the damn furnace. No one would do that.

Me and my older brother would play the clap game, he also had the bright idea to pull my legs the same way it happened to Joey king’s character the night after we watched the movie 😭 I was like 9yrs old and he would duck down and hide so I didn’t know he was doing it. Genuinely thought I was getting dragged by a demon that night

Also I don't think that there was any paranormal reason to Joey King getting ITP (a blood thinning disease) and it going away. I have chronic ITP and have been living with it for a while but it popped up randomly (no history of any blood diseases in my family) when I was 15 and has been off and on ever since. It's due to the white blood cells in your body killing platelet cells (clotting cells in blood), so whenever I get sick or have allergies it is enhanced. I have to constantly get blood work done to check up on it. Idk if her's was paranormal or not but from my experience it was very similar. I know everyone's experience is different and mine is definitely a bad case of it where I need to take constant birth control to never have a period because I can bleed out from that. I am also cautioned on having surgery and had to pull myself back from sports. Sorry for the long rant but it is such a rare disease so it was interesting to find someone else dealing with it.
I have to watch this later, but just wanted to drop a comment to say that I’m a huge horror fan, and this is honestly one of my favorite horror movies. Also if someone put a gun to my head and asked me to say what movie I think is the scariest I’d probably pick The Conjuring.
It’s not a movie that tries to reinvent the wheel, but it’s more of a thing that shows reverence for what came before it and the knowledge it gained from those films. The Conjuring is a case of the student becoming the master. I do think what makes the movies special is that they center around lovable characters that you are invested in, Patrick and Vera are so great in these movies.
im glad i saw it in theaters when it came out. . I was SO unprepared for how good it was. I was expecting mid. 😭🤣 had the whole theater jumping and screaming 😂

I'm of the same opinion about loving Vera and Patrick, and the film characters they are portraying. The real life Warrens... after studying them in depth for many years, they present a lot of red flags and I'm unconvinced that they were genuine.
Conjuring 1 & 2 was the peak of modern day horror movies and most definitely one of my favorite horror movies of all time especially Anabelle creation. ❤

I saw this movie in the theater back when it came out and it still is probably my scariest movie theater experience. I had sleep paralysis once and saw Bathsheba. 😂Scarred for life.

I loved y'all's reaction to this! The Conjuring is my favorite cinematic universe for sure, especially for horror. This isn't the scariest movie, I don't think, but it IS scary. Patrick & Vera have gotta be one of my favorite on-screen couples of all time. They serve and they save and they do it all while stupidly in love. Just because you mentioned the real Ed & Lorraine: there definitely is controversy around them but a lot of it (not all, mind you, but a lot) stems from whether you believe in the supernatural or not. If you do, or if you just want to hear the story of the real Perron haunting The Conjuring was based on (with explanation on Ed & Lorraine's actual involvement) episodes 247 & 248 of And That's Why We Drink cover it in the paranormal half of those episodes (gotta rec my favorite lgbtqa+-run podcast, from one horror-loving member of the community to another, if you don't already listen. who knows. y'all do have great taste)
