  • These elevators used to be something vintage which I don't know what brand they were, but they've been modernized by Schindler with FI MXB fixtures. You can see the long tall panel behind the new button panel which stretches from the bottom to top; I bet that's where the old button panel was. Unusual in Portugal, these elevators features a single sliding door which is something you would commonly see in North America, but still quite interesting anyway. They are also small for a high-rise building. Hotel booking websites states this hotel was completed in 1976.
    *Shoutout goes to JC 95 Elevators for his birthday today (May 9)! Happy Birthday JC 95 Elevators!

    I wonder why single door installs are far rarer than split doors in Asia and Europe, but very common in America.

    I’ve noticed that the “5” digit on the indicator is slightly different to the “5” digit on FI MXB indicators over here. The middle of the 5 is five pixels down over here, rather than four like the one in the video (if you know what I mean).

      LOL I just noticed that when I saw another of my FI MXB video with a slightly different pixel pattern on the "5" digit!

    Single side opening doors I believe are quite rare outside the US; indeed, I've only come across about one in Australia, a Johns & Waygood that was modded in WF Garden City.

    6 pers/450kg in a more-than 10 story hotel? That's way too small. And anyway that single door feature is what you will mostly find in the US. But why do these elevators start at level 5? Wasn't there floor 4 and below?

    • @idl3k_elev
      @idl3k_elev  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is because the hotel sits on a cliff. There are levels 1 to 4 but those are only accessible by the service elevators (they're EuroLift MRLs, video will be published in two days).

      @@idl3k_elev : So floors 1 to 4 are staff-only floors?

    • @idl3k_elev
      @idl3k_elev  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know. I didn't go to any of those floors as I didn't want to get caught by the employees or security.
