Doughboy didn't fear of dying, because he lost his brother, his mother hated him, he had no dad, he knew how the hood was, and he knew someone was gonna come to kill him eventually which happened, I feel like he was ready to go :/...

he felt guilt to kill so he felt guilt to want to die in a way..he made really bad choices and never changed.....he felt the effects of it...he understood the cycle continues....suicide must of been on his mind...might as well be killed take solace in the fact we all go as he mentioned but rick was too early...he angered someone the way he was angry after ricky died cause those people he killed were lovers siblings and kids to other people so he knew his time was up...one way or another...prison death..he was done for...getting kicked out the house by his mom was next so his time was up...the movie makes sue you never fully sympathize with him..hes part of the problem...no awareness...

Everyone has a good heart, we just have to learn how to stop judging one another and embrace each other for who we are. I met so many people who turned their life around it's almost a blessing to be able to meet them for who they are. I'm talking people who went to prison, been shot, survived and they are the most wonderful people you can't help but be around. At the end of the day, we all just people and not perfect, but hey, let's just all learn to love one another.

They said Dough was doomed no matter how good of a man he was inside, as his methods of survival already made him a marked man given that even if he poured out that liquor as a sign of wanting to change, their environment either prompted someone wanting to take his place or his distributors not wanting him to quit moving their product. His only method of not dying in 2 weeks was to leave South Central forever and let a vacuum of power among his leaderless associates & leaderless enemies (with Ferris also dead) consume each other.

@@91DefinitePossible, but never happened. One thing I never liked parents doing is project anything on their kids for nonsensical and cruel reasons just to feel good about themselves. The way his mom was treating Dough is exactly why he ended up in a gang as his own parent treated him like dirt. He wanted to feel like he belonged somewhere, someone strong to follow. Just because things went bad for your former spouse doesn't mean the child is destined to end up like his dad. Shr projected and lashed her issues out on Dough.
I imagined she either cried at Dough's funeral and realized she was a terrible mom. Or she never even showed up, which shows that she was and remains very wicked and foolish for not realizing she contributed in Dough going off straight to the gangs. Either way, parents like her are not exempt in their contributions for poorly raising their children.
I know where I stand currently, but seeing irresponsible people becoming parents and do things that leads to more Doughboys does help me realize that who I am currently isn't as bad as people who surpass me in such cruelty everyday and refuse to mature and be responsible. I refuse to be the large percentage of people that are like that today.

Ice Cube admitted he contibuted to problem when he was younger and dumber. But now that he is older and much wiser both as a father and husband he knew that it was important that he made sure young black youth do not make the same mistakes he made. Ice Cube is spot on what they said. • @jusskb5

Tre being silent letting Dough vent off how no one cares about the hood and what goes on how it's just a cycle of killing speaks a lot. And now he recognizes he's a part of that cycle for killing. Dough understood finally after the deed what Tre dad told him, it wouldn't change a thing avenging Ricky. It marks you. Dough had no one around him who loved him and it cultivated him his mom his partners and I say his partners cause they was his dude but after killing you dont really confide with each other. Dough receiving that message and hug from Tre was what he needed and pouring out the liquor was for ricky and maybe symbolized him wanted to change but sadly he never got that chance cause he knew that he was now the target. Every time I watch this movie I learn something new but Dough walking away then disappearing with that music and the bong bong bong always made me cry. This movie here is literally a history check.

“Ain’t got no mother neither” is the most heartbreaking line in the entire movie, because he really needs her rn. Doughboy plays it cool but really he’s just a boy who needs his mother rn. Dough and his mother should be comforting each other but she doesn’t even acknowledge him, and likely disowned him as her son since she most likely blames him for Ricky’s death, and Doughboy knows that. This is the saddest part of the movie in my opinion.
