I like the Honda Pilot because of the widest width between wheel wells...I can add a sheet of plywood, sheetrock or 2 extra large dog boxes side by side inside a Pilot. I also like there 6-cylinder engine that is likely to last much longer than those 4-cylinder engines in some SUVs. I like the All Wheel Drive up here in Alaska for winter driving. NO CVT, reliable 9 or 10 speed transmission.

Palisade owner here and have to say we are extremely happy we went this route instead of Honda, Nissan, or Toyota. I have nothing bad to say about these brands, but Hyundai has exceeded our expectations. I know everybody's preference is different. In addition to all the features mentioned on the review one thing I especially appreciate about the Palisade is the 40/60 third row split, rather than the typical 50/50 split. This has come in really handy for us when needing to use more trunk space while also still needing seating for 1 more passenger. We fold the 60% section down and the one passenger sits in the 40% section. In these situations if the split had been 50/50 we would not have been able to accommodate all our cargo especially a wheelchair needed for my father-in-law. To me this feature is crucial, but it never gets mentioned on reviews. I hope I'm not the only one that finds this feature superior to the 50/50 split.

Pilot is #1 for me right now even over the Grand Highlander and Korean Twins. Most reliable with a NA V6 and proven transmission, near top of segment in interior space, tons of features, and most notably 8 seats even on the top trim. Most other mid size 3 row SUVs (and mini vans) don’t have 8 seats in anything higher than the mid level trim. The Korean twins have more features on the top trims but only 7 seats and questionable reliability.
The Grand Highlander is a close second. Issues for me are the Turbo 4, no 8 seat option in the top Platinum trim and $5k-$10k dealer markups.
If you want 8 seats, AWD and higher than low or mid level trim, the Pilot is the only option (including mini vans) before going into huge full size SUVs.

I can't get over how outdated and uninspiring that interior is for the Honda Pilot... It reminds me exactly of a Honda Accord I had over 12 years ago! The materials, colors, design looks the same as a interior from 12 years ago! Some people might like that familiarity, but did you see that interior of the Palisade or the Telluride..? Its downright inspiring... Its brand new, materials are better, design is so different and eye opening, the concept is so refreshing and simple.

If I had the choice I'd buy the Toyota Highlander
I like the nice emeneties in the car and the design is actually one of my favorites with the Honda pilot and Kia telluride
And it has the Right amount of space in my opinion since the Third row isn't meant to be used often and when it is used you can move up the second row seats for more room
And also for the hybrid model

    • @pamelahicks517
      @pamelahicks517 ปีที่แล้ว

We've been driving our Highlander Limited for 12 years. It still runs great, but not as smooth a ride as it used to be. With grandkids now, we're interested in the Grand Highlander or maybe the Telluride. We're in our 70s so we want a reliable car that lasts a long time; a very comfortable car(extremely comfortable seats and a ride like you're amost floating on air); and more room for our grandkids. We get tired and stiff after a while and have to get out every now and then and stretch our legs. I also use a walker, so the less stiff I get, the better off I'll be.

Pilot over the Grand Highlander for me. Reliable NA V6 and proven transmission, nearly same interior space, tons of features, and most notably 8 seats even on the top trim. Most other mid size 3 row SUVs (and mini vans) don’t have 8 seats in anything higher than the mid level trim.
The Grand Highlander is a close second. Issues for me are the Turbo 4, no 8 seat option in the top Platinum trim and $5k-$10k dealer markups.

Thinking of buying a new Pilot with removable 2nd row middle seat, or, a 2024 Grand Highlander Hybrid if the price is right. Palisades and Telluride are tempting based on the current review, however, I wonder how they would compare after 5 to 10 years of driving.

Wish you guys would really not push the Palisade and Telluride as top vehicles...they are riddled with issues and don't deserve to be top ranked at all. I am a Huyndai owner with a rebuilt engine, so I know what I'm talking about...and so do the tens of thousands of group members that complain about their issues daily. A few isolated cases is one thing, but the exact same issues between the majority of members is a plague. Good luck.

Came late to this party :P., The problem with the Koreans are they are pumping tech into their cars often times brushing off the most important things like ...the engine, suspension etc. Their reliability is a legit concern unless you plan on leasing one and in 3 -4 yrs their value plummets. Depending what you are looking for I guess and what your plans are with the car. I'd rather stick with the "classics" Honda Pilot looks good and has a much better engine compensating somehow for the lack of "bells and whistles" on the tech side

Not surprised at the #1 Palisade. It certainly received more improvements/appeal over the Telluride for 2023. I don't think the GH will rank in the top 3, mainly because of its value proposition.
While the additional space is appreciated, it doesn't offer much else over the HL in terms of features especially considering where it's going to be priced ($55-57k+). The interior appointments still look the same which are not impressive in the HL to begin with. And then you consider the CX-90 in that price range, which looks decidedly more premium. But it doesn't offer as much space although they're similarly sized.
    Should make an interesting comparison.
