Haha I'm glad you made it through too 😉, Forces of Valor have been surprisingly good with some of their releases recently. Apart from he little marketing stuff up, this still presents well. Thanks for watching!!
@@oneonlynono you are right !! and I managed to score an older unimax release version off a seller on eBay!! Will be interesting to see how similar they are!!
Going above and beyond and doing extra credit homework and even, hopefully, educating the manufacturer in the process. This is my first look at a Forces Of Valor model, and at least for my taste, some of the details are a bit chunky. And that seam gap at the very rear of the tail base kept catching my eye and hoping it could be tightened up. It is such a sweet helicopter, the prototypes, that I personally was hoping for better from this model. Coming from 40-years in HO scale (1/87) model railroading, has spoiled me for what small scale details can be....but HO scale trains are also much more delicate critters too. I do like the paint work, however, and the anti-glare flat black coating under the rotor blades was a very nice touch. And we also learned your name in this one! Thanks, Chris! 🤠👍
Corgi models, as well as other manufacturers, also sometimes have large joint gaps. Even the Calibre Wings models have excessive joint gaps. I think this is a problem with all diecast models.
@@slizevicius And it is things like that that keep me from buying certain models...both in aircraft and model trains. To a degree, I am fine and accepting of a certain amount of gap, but when I can see it from 10-feet away, that is a little much. I examine each individual model as they come. I know not to write-off a manufacturer for one underwhelming model.
@@espeescotty Yes, I really agree with you. And I only recently started collecting Diecast models myself because I didn't like that problem. But, as there is no choice, we have to turn a blind eye to it. I myself really do not like the joint gaps and too deep panel lines, which are basically used by HM. And I myself am very picky about this kind of thing, that's why I always look for a model that has the least such problem. And such models really are...
@@slizevicius I guess to my eyes, HM panel lines are acceptable. I now own 5 HM planes, with 2 more to arrive shortly, and I really like them. One of the 2 I am awaiting is an F-14B, which from what I have seen, has a very noticeable seam which is at the front of the wing root and even at the front of the wings, where the top and bottom pieces come together. I am hoping I get lucky with mine and the gap is tight. I decided to give it a try and see it for myself. F-14's are my #1 favorite, so we'll see.🤞 Chris here at Heavy Metal Diecast has ordered the same F-14 I have, so I'll be able compare his to mine. But what also appeals to me is HM paint has always been top notch on my planes. I took a calculated risk. Live and learn. 🤠👍
@@espeescotty Most HM models are really, really good. And the quality of their painting is also very good. As is their service. This makes it the number 1 manufacturer in the world. However, the lines of most models and panels are too deep for me. As well as the lack of rivets in most of the models. Especially if we compare it with other manufacturers' models. If we are talking about the F-14, all manufacturers have the same gap...
@@stuartjobling9360 yeah sometimes the screws are a pain, where you have no where to grab the model hard enough to be able to put enough pressure on to get the screw to release. Forces of Valor certainly don't muck around when it comes to affixing their models to bases. Glad you finally got it out 🤣
Livery issues aside this is a well detailed model, with great fit (there was a mental round of applause here when the rotor blades went on!) and some nice features. And a shark mouth!
Oh for sure, has some great detail. Oh I was having some mental thoughts myself when assembling bits on camera!! 😂😂..been having a few models lately that have had teeth, haha. Thanks for checking out the video!!
Maybe this is why my pre-order hasn't shipped yet, you might be the reason FOV might be fixing this lol. Who knows, either way I can't wait for mine, awesome!. Cheers brotherman 🍻🎃
That is weird that you have yet to get yours!! You could be right, they may have put a hold upon realising the little mistake!! They sent me a dodgy one with no second thought though, haha. Thanks for watching !!!
Very nice looking model. It seems to me that FoV is an undervalued firm. Their models look really good. But do they contain a lot of metal or more plastic? Video review, great as always.
There seems to be a good portion of diecast, mainly the smaller intricate parts are plastic. Yes from the few that I have bought they have been pretty well done!! Thanks for watching!!
Thank you for watching, I bought my one off AliExpress. But you need to be careful when buying as their returns policy is a nightmare. Its good if things arrive in great condition, but if there's ever an issue with something arriving broken they do stuff you around. But the pricing is very cheap too. Sometimes it worth the risk, and once you find a reliable seller there is no issues. I had not had many items arrive broken though, but the times I did they just screwed with me,haha
When I saw the brand, though I wouldn't view the video.
Glad I made it through, I'm not disappointed.
Great presentation Chris.

Sure wish they actually make the 1/48 scale version of the viper, ik they used unimax's design for this one haha
Theyll probably wait until all their 1:48 scale "Whiskey" Cobras are sold first, haha. Thanks for watching!!
