When I was framing I was always butting heads with coworkers for no reason. I was a Marine so I just worked hard because I was used to marching for 20 miles with 80+ lbs on my back. Working with lazy people made me frustrated. But I was still easy going, and kind. I just tried to motovate whoever I was working with. But I have to say, doing things right the first time is how the job becomes easy. Not losing your mind over mistakes also helps. Your crew gets along so good. I wish I could have worked with your crew for one day, back in my younger days, just to enjoy the ambiance. Thanks for the videos. I enjoy them immensely!! PEACE 🕊
Here in Germany houses are built completely differently. It gives me such joy to watch you at work. Thank you for the great content. Your customers can be very happy that you are building their house. 🇺🇸🇩🇪
Arlo in house!! Good to see him! Jason's new endeavor, designing homes!! LOL. It's always a good time with Jay on the build!! Thanks for building so we can follow along & watch! KUTGW
Eric and Ray are wardrobe soul mates. 😁 Eric and Jay are reading each other’s minds. Arlo visits the job site. Feels like old times 💪 And beefy touchable tires Dang !
I smile or laugh thru almost all your videos. I really love your style and content. Great to see Arlo. Love the community approach to your Perkins Tool Belt!
I used ZIP-R on my house and routed the openings. But the router bit melts the foam layer and so this gummed up the bit a lot -- had to stop fairly often to clean it off.
Ditto on the router use! I remember when a teenager the first time I saw a router being used in a surfboard factory ( Greg Noll Surfboards) and it scared the shit out of me. I did not want to have anything to do with it! There is a famous story about one of the employees who cut his thumb off and went to the hospital. When he came back to get it so it could be reattached by the doctor it had been encased in a cup of surfboard resin...lol. They kept it on the counter of the surfboard shop where it was gawked at by customers. Years later I became a carpenter and used routers tons but always with the upmost caution and respect. 54 years later and I still used them carefully!
I really love watching your videos. By far my favorite TH-cam channel of all. Thanks for sharing. PS. Seeing Arlo was a treat. He’s the carpenter King 😎🇺🇸🫶🏻✌🏼
Hey Eric, 8 years back my wife opened the back door so the dogs could go outside. A swarm of lady bugs flew inside the house. We could not coax them to leave. They planned on my dinning room as being their winter home. We were finding buggers for a week, hiding in furniture and room corners.
I have a problem, I love the videos but I hate wanting for them 😂. Love the work upu guys do. And I'm actually preparing to build a woodframe structure soon. It's not common as much in my country. You see them more often these days but price of lumber here makes it in most cases make it more sense to build in stone. The reason why I'm opting for a woodframe, is the speed to build it.
I tore up a pretty good slice of my left index finger with a sawzall. I got my first router 50 years ago and it still scares me sometime. However, for cutting out window openings in drywall I still use my zip tool... A router kind of thing made for that.
I love the custom work, y'all do. That plus the problem solving is, IMO, why you are successful on YT. Also, you guys are good at what you do, and the comradery of the crew is great.
Now I kinda understands why you like jack-o-lanterns so much (when illuminated from inside). If you'll get a chance to come to a cemetery in Poland during period 1-2nd November, you'll be 'greeted' by insane amount of people and very special atmosphere (especially after dusk).
@4:00 You talk about routers and having no trigger. Cordless and corded options for plunge routers are avaIlable from milwaukee (cordless with fast stop brake) and bosch (corded 1.3hp, which I own). Both are great. I plan on getting the cordless milwaukee as I have their trim router and like how good and efficient it is, and how fast it stops spinning.
So if it's Halloween with you that means that your videos are 3 weeks behind real time so I'm guessing the build is sealed from the elements. Good video all the best Rich W Ely UK 🇬🇧
Beats me why you don't get a ladder hoist, it is safer, less effort and very convenient. Must be cheaper than renting a crane, because it is yours for life. We have them in the UK and they are a wise investment and so versatile. Good post, be safe and well 👍
Some may know em as the old one others by the man, standing at 6' on a good day, weighing in at 230ish, coming out of retirement. The man the myth the legend ARLO!!!!
Watching this series from Canada. Great show, great ideas. We're currently planning on a shed roof style build on the East Coast. I wish we could get some of the products you're using in Canada. You should also make your merchandise available for shipping to Canada.

Nice tires!

...House coming together nicely...
Perkins; come to Norway and see how we do things. I think you'd love to learn some new things, as well as teach us how Americans in NC do it
Awesome
Nice to see Arlo!
Great Drone shot at 14:16. Like Jaime said, I want one too.

Hey Ellis, have you ever served in the military? Because that's the attitude, brother. It'll suck but it'll get done with a smile.
Now I kinda understands why you like jack-o-lanterns so much (when illuminated from inside). If you'll get a chance to come to a cemetery in Poland during period 1-2nd November, you'll be 'greeted' by insane amount of people and very special atmosphere (especially after dusk).
Good to see and hear Arlo.
Thank you for the video!

I have to ask out of curiosity about how much total cost. Will this house be when it's finished, including the land.
Jason has cracked the Architect code... "It's just for looks" lol....
Great video, and a guest star with Arlo too.
I live in England and this is my absolute favourite you tube channel.
ARLO! We missed you. But you are now the Special Guest Star! Seriously, Arlo is a The Wizard of Woodworking.
So if it's Halloween with you that means that your videos are 3 weeks behind real time so I'm guessing the build is sealed from the elements. Good video all the best Rich W Ely UK 🇬🇧
