Great video about this skyscraper! I think it's amazing how they engineered it with the hollow floors and tuned mass damper counterweight at the top. I wouldn't live here though, I would feel so uncomfortable knowing how thin it is, and the loud noises and flooding issues would make it very unsettling.

I would not. I'm not really the type to live so high up in the sky, I get queasy. But even if I wasn't, I would not. They don't make buildings like they used to...

The architecture of 432 Park Avenue is a laudable achievement. But life for its residents seems tumultuous, with a touch of unhappiness.

I think it's funny that the building isn't actually on Park Ave.
I watch Million Dollar Listing NY and buyers go up in unfinished buildings in hard hats all the time.
I would not live in the building but I would love to tour the penthouse for the day so I could take in the 360 degree views.

Not a chance would I ever live there. You couldn't pay me. Especially since it was built without an iron-based frame. What a horrifying concept, 10 to 15 years from now when it is in serious danger of falling due to engineering "technical difficulties" associated with materials and slight alignment issues.

I definitely would not want to live there. Too many unnecessary problems because of the form factor. Don’t go against the physics. 15:1 is a ridiculous ratio. Without all those active damping systems 😱, don’t even want to imagine.

I would definitely live there. It'd be like my dream came true, it's my favourite building in the world, everytime I go to NYC I spend hours just contemplating its magnificence, it's my phone wallpaper and much more... so definitely yea, I would live there hahaha

I really enjoyed this video, and the style with which you created it. No, I wouldn’t live there. Too much downside to the literally upside. I do enjoy a high floor though. The highest floor on which I have lived was the 43rd (a Penthouse), located on 54th near 3rd. I had an amazing view of the Chrysler Building, which remains my favorite building on the planet, as well as the UN, and the East River. I don’t think I would want to live on a floor much higher than that.

Hi 👋🏻Ariel, what an interesting video! 🧡Architecture is constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible. In many ways it showcases the ingenuity of humanity and what inspires us. This video has spurred on a conversation about architecture, we were all wondering what happens in wintertime ❄️ 🥶Do chunks of ice slide off the building? Would the weather make the cement brittle over time? The view of NY from the upper floors would compel me to consider living there (if $ was not an issue 🤑)however at a ratio of 15:1....nope. Love your shows 🧡🧡🧡🧡💖

Great video, Ariel. I can't help but say that I hate this building and those skinny buildings that have popped up. I heard them referred to as "giant file cabinets for Russian Oligarchs". Great video, as usual!! I like hearing about the background stories on buildings - even if I take issue with their existence.

Thanks for brining up that 432 Park Avenue is NOT on Park Avenue. The former building on that property was a hotel with it's entrance on Park Avenue. There are currently two (2) address separating the building from Park Avenue, one is almost completely detached.

would love to live there absolutely but the interior organization of the building is just a square with escalators.. it was not FUN to live there. Heard the empty floors are connected to FAR regulation as well? Next time wanna see the skinner, pointed building next to it (the one under construction recently)!! Also, LOVE this channel as an architecture student in NYC. ❤️

I know the elevators frequently get stuck because of the high winds tilting the building. If I moved there, I would get a place on a lower floor to take the stairs when this happens. I live nearby and I do like the ground level

I would not live here. This is not an urban legend: in a high wind the fright elevators are often out of operation due to excess vibration. For this reason some of the best contractors in NYC refuse to take interior work in this structure. This is not A machine to live but perhaps a place to fear. Great Vid thanks

If you can afford to live at 432 Park Avenue, you can afford to live someplace much better. Boring-looking building, not inspiring at all. It's horrible that it was allowed to be built. It ruined the New York City skyline. Wealth can be a kind of poverty.
