What a great match from both athletes. Coco played well but Sabalenka is on another level physically and mentally. Coco will continue to improve of course on both her forehand and serve. Glad to see them be respectful with each other.

Every player has strengths and weaknesses. One thing is absolute. The champion must have a weapon. Steffi that run around forehand. Slice. Wow. Past players that win often we known them for a specific weapon. Some players are great players because they are consistent which is their strength. Gabby, Caroline as example. When Sloane won US Open she was very consistent. However as we have seen it is often not enough. Keyes has weapons but not consistent. For Sabalenka her improvement as of late is her head game. I wish them both much success. I would like to see the tennis world treat all players fairly instead of picking favorites. Imagine that player is your son or daughter.

It was close. Coco is the only player who could challenge Saba in this AO. Saba's loss to Rybakina in Brisbane final has greatly helped in preparation for AO
Closer was Gauff to lose against Kostyuk that winning against Sabalenka. Sabalenka was too nervous in this game, made 8 more unforced errors than Gauff, but still she had whole match under control. Won comfortably tiebreak then and in 2nd set was at full control at her serve, Gauff had 0 chances to break her. Keys played better at USO against Sabalenka at semifinal than Gauff today.

I know she’s gonna up her strength training, and Coco stated that she also hit the ball to the opponents too often, making it too easy for them. Most top players hit the ball hard & fast like Serena! I’m surprised of the number of Eastern European players who were fans of Serena and have adopted her style!!😅😅

liczyłem na Krejcikovą ,ale nic z tego nie wyszło,to ,ze Coco dostanie baty to było niemal pewne,trzeba jednak powiedziec, ze sie postawiła,Sabie jak rzucisz wysoką piłkę to masz problem,tylko Barty w tym momencie by ja pogoniła,tu potrzebna jest strategia,kilka piłek tuż za siatkę i Saba łapie nerwa,a jak ona łapie nerwa to juz po niej,wygra Saba tego australiana

And as for the lack of "black faces in the crowd" - what percentage of Melbourne's population is black do you think? Less than 1%. Perhaps that would account for the lack of black faces in the crowd.
