I remember learning how to play this years ago it 's any easy intro to play and fun to play the whole song is just has fun to play and easy to play and learn
Really like this intro. Thanks for putting up the chords as well. I've looked at other versions of this song and no others seem to sound quite right. Any chance of videoing the rest of the song? I've only been playing for four months, but really enjoying it!
this is a great tutorial. may i ask what guitar model you are using as well as the wood your guitar is made out of? I have been trying to play some songs.. including this one and I am just not hitting the correct tone.
Sounds good...but what about the odd rhythmic structure (the) Eagles use where it sounds like the drummer is coming in awkwardly? Are they starting their chords on the last 8th note of each measure (with no cues to the listener that they're not hitting on the first note of the next measure? OK, this is an advanced issue but an interesting one..l
Important to mention the Elephant in the room here ... The changes of the intro happen in the upbeat of the 4,Henley comes in on the upbeat of the 3. Without that it's gonna be a messy intro
As Mason Wheaton says, the beat is wrong in this tutorial. The first hit is between 4 and 1. When strumming, it's up. I did listen this intro wrong for about 30 years. It's pretty difficult to learn the correct riff after that. But it's worth it. Anyway, I think most of the people on earth make it wrong anyway.
Not trying to be "that guy" but the strumming actually starts on the & of beat 4, rather than the downbeat. If you listen to live versions you can hear Glenn count it off
Thank you. Love the chord diagrams, clear and slow progressions, and strumming!
