Okay so Tyler first 3, technically 4 albums are a story of sorts, they are supposed to be a movie. Bastard, Goblin, Wolf (prequel), & Cherry Bomb (epilogue kinda).
I suggest you listen to all his albums starting at WOLF. WOLF gives you the best view into Tyler's true potential, but it also gives you a glimpse into why his previous albums were so controversial (they cover dark content from like a serial killer/abuser perspective).
Cherry Bomb is very much a transition album for Tyler. It has references in it talking about the first 3 as movies. Many people didn't like it because it's weird production/mastering choices and doesn't have much of a direction, but it truly is one of my favorites and a good album.
Flower Boy is truly the beginning of Modern Tyler. Igor is more art. CMIYGL is more rap. All FANTASTIC
